Adames, 21, is batting .316 with one home run, three RBI and one steal over his last 10 games for Triple-A Durham.

On the year, Adames is slashing .267/.360/.406 with eight home runs, 47 RBI and nine stolen bases. The Rays are notoriously conservative with their prospects, but as they sit just 1.5 games out of the last Wild Card spot, they could choose to bring up Adames to boost their middle infield depth down the stretch.

Mateo went 2-for-4 with two walks, three stolen bases and an RBI for Double-A Midland on Tuesday.

The shortstop, who was one of three prospects the Athletics received in the July 31 trade that sent Sonny Gray to the Yankees, capped off his night with a walkoff single in the 11th inning. Mateo's wheels have been on full display across stints with three minor-league clubs this season, with the 22-year-old racking up a combined 48 steals while getting caught just 10 times. He'll likely remain in the Texas League for the remainder of the campaign before potentially angling for a promotion to the big club in 2018.

Pennington got the nod at the keystone against a left-handed pitcher Tuesday, going 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a loss to Washington.

The veteran infielder has started six of the Angels' last 12 contests, but all six have come against southpaws. A strict platoon has developed at second base between Pennington and Kaleb Cowart, but the latter plays more and thus is the more desirable fantasy asset.

Anderson went 1-for-4 with a home run in Tuesday's loss to the Dodgers.

He led off the game with a homer, taking Alex Wood's first pitch out to left-center field. The 24-year-old has hit left-handed pitching well throughout the season, and while he's struggled to a great extent against right-handers for much of the year, he's been showing some signs of improvement lately. The White Sox remain committed to Anderson being part of the rebuild.

Chang exited Tuesday's game with Double-A Akron early after being hit by a pitch on his right hand.

Chang will likely undergo testing on his injured hand Wednesday, at which point we'll have a better idea as to the severity of the injury. For now, the shortstop prospect will be considered day-to-day.

Bichette is sitting for the second day in a row after rolling his ankle during Sunday's game, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

The Blue Jays don't think the injury is serious, but they're going to play it safe with one of their top prospects anyway and let him take a seat for the second straight game. Bichette has been raking since being promoted to High-A ball in early July, slashing .344/.399./448 with eight stolen bases and two home runs.

Correa (thumb) could progress to taking batting practice over the weekend, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Correa continues to work his way back from a torn ligament in his thumb, as he was able to field grounders, run the bases and take between 20 and 25 swings off a tee Monday with no issues. He's looking to resume regular batting practice over the weekend as he continues to ramp up the intensity of his baseball activities before being cleared for a minor-league rehab assignment. Correa, who is about four weeks removed from his operation, still feels ahead of his estimated six-to-eight week recovery schedule.

Correa (thumb) took between 20 and 25 swings off a tee Monday, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports. "I feel good," Correa said. "I swung hard and everything. It didn't bother me at all. It's a good start."

Correa also fielded groundballs and ran the bases as he approaches the four-week mark since his operation. He had been scheduled for a six-to-eight week rehabilitation period, but feels he's ahead of that schedule. Correa will continue to increase the level and intensity of his baseball-related activities before heading out on a rehab assignment, where he can get his timing back and be ready to contribute immediately once he's back in the majors.

Pennington started at the keystone and went 2-for-4 in Sunday's victory over the Mariners.

Kaleb Cowart has emerged as the Angels' primary option at second base, but Pennington has picked up starts in two of the club's last three games, which have both come against southpaws. While both players are switch hitters, the former has struggled against lefties since being called up (4-for-20) while the latter has experiences success against that handedness this season (10-for-34), so a platoon situation at the keystone appears to be developing in Los Angeles.

Anderson went 1-for-5 with a two-run homer Sunday against the Royals.

Anderson came in with a .315/.333/.441 line against lefties, and was once again promoted to the leadoff spot with southpaw Jason Vargas on the mound for Kansas City. He rewarded that decision with a long ball in the fifth inning, but that was ultimately far from enough in what ended as a lopsided 14-6 loss. The shortstop's affordability in daily formats makes him worth a look when facing left-handers.
