  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Rangers' Corey Seager: Dealing with hamstring injury

Seager was not in Friday's lineup to rest his injured right hamstring, Steve Kornacki of MLB.com reports.

Seager was held out of games Thursday and Friday without a reason given. It's unclear if Seager aggravated his previous hamstring injury, or if the Rangers are being extra cautious with the shortstop, who was activated off the injured list a week ago. Josh Smith filled in at shortstop while Seager rested his hamstring.

  • Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Homers, triples in victory

Henderson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a triple, a walk and an additional RBI in Friday's 4-1 win over the Angels.

Henderson racked up a season-high seven total bases, submitting his second triple and fourth homer of the campaign. The All-Star shortstop also extended his on-base streak to 15 games, during which he's batting .305 (18-for-59) with two round trippers, three doubles, four RBI and six runs scored. Henderson entered the game with a top-shelf 53.0 percent hard-hit rate, so perhaps Friday was a sign that some positive regression in the power department is on the horizon.

  • Chase Meidroth SS | CHW

White Sox's Chase Meidroth: Nursing sore shoulder

Meidroth was scratched from the lineup ahead of Friday's game against Miami due to right shoulder soreness.

The White Sox are labeling Meidroth as day-to-day, so it doesn't seem like he's at risk of missing an extended amount of time. Jacob Amaya replaced Meidroth in the lineup Friday and would be the likely choice to start at shortstop if Meidroth needs to sit out any more games.

  • Chase Meidroth SS | CHW

White Sox's Chase Meidroth: Scratched from lineup Friday

Meidroth was a late scratch from Friday's lineup against the Marlins.

Everybody moves up one spot, and Jacob Amaya slides in at the bottom of the order at shortstop. Meidroth is slashing .245/.355/.264 with just one double, two RBI, nine runs scored and three stolen bases across his first 62 big-league plate appearances.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Rangers' Corey Seager: Out of lineup again Friday

Seager is absent from the lineup for Friday's game in Detroit.

Seager getting a day off when the Tigers send lefty Tarik Skubal to the bump isn't necessarily unexpected. However, Seager didn't start Thursday's game in Boston, either, so he might be dealing with some sort of physical issue. Josh Smith is at shortstop and hitting seventh Friday.

  • Taylor Walls 3B | TB

Rays' Taylor Walls: Chips in offensively

Walls went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and was caught stealing in Thursday's game against the Phillies.

Walls started his fifth straight game at shortstop and has gone 7-for-17 at the plate in that span. He also has four runs scored in that stretch, while raising his average to .205. As the latter number indicates, Walls is a light hitter, limiting his fantasy appeal even if he continues to get consistent at-bats.

  • Trey Sweeney SS | DET

Tigers' Trey Sweeney: Four hits, four runs Thursday

Sweeney went 4-for-8 with four runs scored in Thursday's doubleheader sweep over the Rockies.

Sweeney has hit safely in his last eight games and has racked up four straight multi-hit efforts. During the hitting streak, he has gone 15-for-32 (.469) with two home runs, one double, seven RBI and nine runs scored. The shortstop has carved out a near-everyday role in recent weeks after beginning the year in a platoon with Javier Baez, who is now in the outfield. When the streak started, Sweeney was hitting .198, but he's up to .269 with a .732 OPS, three homers, 15 RBI, 23 runs and two stolen bases across 37 contests on the year.

  • Bobby Witt SS | KC

Royals' Bobby Witt: Four hits, two steals Thursday

Witt went 4-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases in Thursday's 10-0 win over the White Sox.

It was another standout effort from Witt, who's gone 10-for-22 (.455) with six extra-base hits and four steals in his last five contests. The star shortstop is now slashing .325/.392/.530 with five homers, 23 RBI, 25 runs scored and 13 steals across 171 plate appearances this season.

  • Rays' Chandler Simpson: Not in Rays' lineup

Simpson is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Phillies, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

Tough southpaw Jesus Luzardo is on the bump for the Phillies, so the Rays will give the lefty-hitting Simpson a breather. They are starting fellow left-handed-swinging Kameron Misner in center field for the series finale.

  • Gage Workman 3B | DET

White Sox's Gage Workman: Cleared for rehab games

Workman (hip) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte on Friday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Workman had made just one start for the White Sox before going down with a right hip flexor strain earlier this month. However, he has been cleared for games again and could be activated close to when he's first eligible Sunday.
