Correa (back) is expected to come off the 10-day disabled list prior to Friday's game against the Mariners, Christian Boutwell of MLB.com reports.

Correa was back with the team Thursday, and after missing 36 games while on the shelf, he'll return to action over the weekend and resume his role as the everyday shortstop. He was slashing .268/.352/.480 with 13 homers and 49 RBI through 73 games before suffering a back injury. J.D. Davis was sent back to the minors in a corresponding move.

Lindor went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBI in Thursday's 5-4 win over Minnesota.

Lindor delivered a two-run single in the second inning, and he doubled home a run in the fourth to push the lead to four. He's now recorded five straight multi-hit games, going 10-for-23 with two homers and seven RBI over that span. The 24-year-old shortstop has a chance to match if not surpass his totals from 2017, as he's batting .298 with 29 home runs and 74 RBI through 113 games this season, compared to .273 with 33 homers and 89 RBI last year.

Correa (back) is back with the big-league club following a rehab assignment and could return from the 10-day DL on Friday, Christian Boutwell of MLB.com reports.

Correa played in five games with Double-A Corpus Christi over the past week, and he appears to be on the verge of reinstatement after missing about six weeks with a back injury. The shortstop should be back in the starting lineup upon his activation, but expect manager A.J. Hinch to give him regular rest during the next couple weeks as he continues to get back into game shape.

Gordon will hit ninth and man second base against the Astros on Thursday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Manager Scott Servais will attempt to rejuvenate the club following seven losses in the last 10 games, shifting Mitch Haniger to the leadoff spot and dropping Gordon to the bottom of the order. In addition, Denard Span will bat second and Jean Segura is hitting out of the three hole. It remains to be seen if this will be anything more than a short-term change, though Gordon is just 4-for-33 (.121 average) over his past eight games.

Wendle is not in the lineup versus Baltimore on Thursday.

Wendle will shift over to the bench following five straight starts, during which he's gone 7-for-17 (.412 average) with one home run and four RBI. Brandon Lowe will draw the assignment at the keystone in his absence.

Wendle went 2-for-4 with an RBI single in a loss to the Orioles on Wednesday.

Wendle now has a trio of multi-hit efforts in his last five games, which has led to an impressive .400 average thus far in August. Many of his hits over that stretch have been timely, as he's driven in four runs -- nearly half of his July total. Wendle's production Wednesday pushed his season line to a solid .292/.344/.413, figures that include 23 extra-base hits (13 doubles, four triples, six home runs).

Lindor went 2-for-5 with a double, a three-run home run and a second run scored in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Twins.

The All-Star shortstop ended the game with one swing of the bat, taking Trevor Hildenberger deep on the first pitch he saw for a walkoff shot in the ninth inning -- Lindor's 29th homer of the year and MLB-leading 67th extra-base hit.

Anderson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a strikeout in Wednesday's loss to the Yankees.

The 25-year-old blasted his 15th homer of the year, sending a solo shot to right in the fifth inning. To go along with a .240/.288/.402 line, Anderson is tied for fifth in the American League with 22 steals, though he's only swiped one bag since July 8.

Mondesi went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and two strikeouts in Wednesday's win over the Cubs.

Mondesi's seventh-inning blast broke the game open, turning a two-run lead into a 5-0 margin in the eventual 9-0 win. The 23-year-old's homer was his fourth of the season, but he's mired in a 5-for-31 (.161) stretch that's dropped his slash line on the year to .259/.271/.414.

Herrera is out of Wednesday's lineup against the Cubs.

He has been in the lineup for 10 of the Royals' last 11 games, hitting .310/.333/.452 with one home run and just four strikeouts in 42 at-bats over that stretch. Hunter Dozier will start at the hot corner and hit fourth.
