Lee is not in Friday's starting lineup against the Rays because of an illness, Matthew Leach of MLB.com reports.

He is available off the bench despite missing yesterday's game due to the illness as well. Tristan Gray gets the start at shortstop in his place. Lee is off to a slow start, hitting .154 (2-for-13) with zero homers and just one RBI, and he's at some risk for losing his starting shortstop job this season after an underwhelming 2025 (.655 OPS).

Gray will start at shortstop and bat ninth in Friday's game against the Rays.

It's the second consecutive start at shortstop for Gray, who is 3-for-9 with a 1:4 BB:K in the early going this season. Brooks Lee should still handle the lion's share of starts at shortstop for Minnesota over the long haul.

Lee started four of the first five games of the season but has now been on the bench for two in a row. The Twins will roll with Tristan Gray as their starting shortstop in Friday's home opener.

The Mariners reinstated Crawford (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list Thursday.

Crawford dealt with shoulder problems throughout spring training, and he landed on the injured list at the start of the regular season after receiving a cortisone shot to treat the injury. After playing a full rehab game at Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday without any issues, he'll now rejoin the active roster and slot in as Seattle's primary shortstop -- at least until the club is ready to promote top prospect Colt Emerson. Ryan Bliss was optioned to Tacoma in a corresponding move.

The Mariners optioned Bliss to Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday.

His removal from the active roster clears the way for the return of J.P. Crawford (shoulder) from the injured list. Bliss' playing time early on in the season has been sparse, and he has struck out in both of his plate appearances. The 26-year-old missed nearly all of the 2025 season due to injury, so he's probably best served at this juncture getting regular playing time at Tacoma.

Lee (oblique) is set to begin a rehab assignment with Single-A Lakeland, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Lee has been slowed by an early-March left oblique strain but is ready to test things out in a game setting. Once he completes his rehab assignment, the infielder will report to Triple-A Toledo. Lee was added to the Tigers' 40-man roster over the offseason and could debut at some point in 2026.

Lee is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in Kansas City.

Lee will receive a day off after getting off to a 2-for-13 start with five strikeouts at the plate. Tristan Gray will fill in at shortstop as the Twins try to avoid the sweep.

Clement went 2-for-4 in Wednesday's loss to the Rockies.

The 30-year-old has had a quick start to the year, going 8-for-25 (.320) through six games with three doubles, two RBI and one run. Clement is shifting from a super-utility role to being the Blue Jays' everyday starter at second base this season, but so far that adjustment hasn't impacted him at the plate.

Seager went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 8-3 loss to the Orioles.

Seager's eighth-inning shot, which traveled 422 feet to right center, was his second homer in as many days and and third of the season. He's also walked five times (.429 OBP) and reached base safely in all six games played.

Witt went 1-for-3 with one RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 13-9 win over the Twins.

Witt is off to a steady start to 2026, batting .278 (5-for-18) with two RBI, two steals and one run scored. He's still looking for his first extra-base hit, but he did get the ball up by driving in a run with a sacrifice fly Wednesday. Witt's 23-homer showing last year was his worst in three MLB seasons, but he still had an .852 OPS. Fantasy managers can afford to be patient with Witt until he starts hitting for more power, especially if he continues to be an elite contributor with his speed.
