  • Bobby Witt SS | KC

Royals' Bobby Witt: Swipes two bags

Witt went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and a run scored during a win over the Tigers in Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader.

Witt singled and stole second in both the first and sixth frames. The superstar rookie has now swiped 15 bases in 18 attempts on the year, including eight since the start of June. He improved his season slash line to .243/.290/.444 with 44 runs scored and 34 extra-base hits through 338 plate appearances. Witt is 9-for-25 (.360) during his active six-game hitting streak.

  • Nick Allen SS | HOU

Athletics' Nick Allen: On bench Monday

Allen isn't starting Monday's game against the Rangers.

Allen is getting a day off after he went 0-for-12 with a walk and three strikeouts over the last four games. Sheldon Neuse will take over at the keystone and bat ninth.

  • Noelvi Marte 3B | CIN

Mariners' Noelvi Marte: Major offensive surge at High-A

Marte owns a .447/.553/.895 slash line with two doubles, five home runs, 12 RBI, eight walks, four stolen bases and 18 runs across the 47 plate appearances he's logged in his last 10 games at High-A Everett.

The sensational stretch represents a drastic turnaround for Marte, who'd generated a much more modest .234/.330/.377 tally over his first 63 games of the season. The 20-year-old could certainly see a bump up to the Double-A level before season's end if he continues to demonstrate mastery over High-A arms.

  • Rays' Wander Franco: Slated to undergo surgery

Franco (wrist) will undergo surgery Tuesday to repair his fractured hamate bone and is expected to require 5-to-8 weeks of recovery time, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The 21-year-old was diagnosed with a hamate injury in his right wrist over the weekend, but the Rays didn't immediately announce whether or not he would require a procedure. With surgery now having been deemed necessary, Franco won't be in line to rejoin the Rays until at least mid-August. Taylor Walls should serve as the Rays' primary shortstop while Franco is sidelined.

  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Red Sox's Trevor Story: Scores three times, drives in three

Story went 2-for-4 with a double, three runs and three RBI in Sunday's 11-6 win over the Yankees.

The three RBI matched Story's total from his previous 10 contests combined. Story had gotten on base at a poor .222 clip over those 10 games, and even after Sunday's big effort, his slash line sits at a disappointing .225/.294/.430 for the season. Per Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic, Story will stick in the lineup as Boston's No. 6 hitter in Monday's series opener with the Rays, and he's unlikely to be moved up in the order until he finds sustained success at the plate over an extended period.

  • Bo Bichette 3B | NYM

Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Homers in three-hit game

Bichette went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Sunday's 6-5 loss to the Mariners.

Bichette saw a 13-game hitting streak end Saturday, but he was right back at it Sunday with his fourth three-hit game this season. He hit a two-run single in the fifth inning and a go-ahead solo shot in the seventh, but the Blue Jays fell short in the end. The shortstop has gone 13-for-45 (.289) in July, and he's up to a .259/.301/.430 slash line with 14 homers, 48 RBI, 47 runs scored and five stolen bases through 86 games overall.

  • David Fletcher 2B | ATL

Angels' David Fletcher: Starting rehab assignment Tuesday

Fletcher (hip) is slated to start a minor-league rehab assignment Tuesday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

David Fletcher underwent surgery May 10 and was subsequently transferred to the 60-day injured list. He's recently been progressing in his rehab program and now appears ready to resume playing in games. Per Jeff Fletcher, David Fletcher is expected to return to the big-league club July 28. He'll likely have a starting spot waiting for him, but it's uncertain whether it will be at second base, third base or shortstop.

  • Jeremy Pena SS | HOU

Astros' Jeremy Pena: Provides sac fly in return

Pena went 0-for-4 with an RBI in Sunday's 6-1 win over the Athletics.

Pena missed three games due to the league's healthy and safety protocols. He was able to contribute a sacrifice fly for the Astros' fifth run in the contest in his return from the short absence. The rookie shortstop is 7-for-33 (.212) with three home runs, five RBI and six runs scored through seven games in July, though a four-hit, two-homer game July 3 against the Angels helped steady his recent numbers. Overall, he's slashing .266/.314/.464 through 258 plate appearances.

  • Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU

Astros' Aledmys Diaz: Swipes bag Sunday

Diaz went 1-for-3 with a stolen base, a walk and a run scored in Sunday's 6-1 win over the Athletics.

Diaz made his second straight start as the designated hitter. His steal Sunday was his first of the year on his second attempt -- he hasn't posted more than four steals in a major-league season, and he hadn't successfully notched a theft since 2019 entering this contest. The 31-year-old has often served as a utility man, but regular playing time at designated hitter and in left field could be open with Yordan Alvarez (hand) and Michael Brantley (shoulder) both sidelined. For the season, Diaz is slashing .234/.281/.359 with five home runs, 18 RBI, 17 runs scored and six doubles, and his versatility could be a plus for fantasy managers.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Rangers' Corey Seager: Homers again Sunday

Seager went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a sacrifice fly in Sunday's 6-5 loss to the Twins.

Seager has turned up his power and hitting in the last week, posting five multi-hit efforts in his last six games. He's gone 11-for-22 (.500) with four homers, nine RBI and six runs scored in that span. Prior to this surge, the shortstop's first year with the Rangers had looked rather disappointing, but he's now slashing .245/.317/.456 in 81 contests. He's added 19 long balls, 45 RBI, 43 runs scored, three stolen bases and 10 doubles. Seager's career high in homers is 26 during the 2016 season, and that's a mark he should have a chance to shatter over the second half of this campaign.
