Carlos Correa SS | HOU
Twins' Carlos Correa: Three hits, two RBI in loss
Correa went 3-for-5 with two RBI in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Royals.
Correa drove in a pair of runs with a second-inning single. That hit put the Twins ahead 3-0, but the Royals' offense was a bit stronger over the rest of the game. Over his last 17 games, Correa has been on a tear, going 29-for-72 (.403) with 10 extra-base hits, 15 RBI and 11 runs scored. The shortstop's surge has lifted his season slash line to .288/365/.467 with 21 home runs, 60 RBI, 66 runs scored, 20 doubles and a triple through 124 contests.

Tim Anderson 2B | LAA
White Sox's Tim Anderson: Could return this week
Anderson (hand) could return to the White Sox's lineup sometime this week, Scot Gregor of the Chicago Daily Herald reports.
With the minor-league season coming to a close in the coming days, a rehab assignment doesn't make much sense for Anderson, so he might make a direct return to action at the big-league level despite missing six weeks already. In the meantime, Elvis Andrus will continue manning shortstop.

Tim Anderson 2B | LAA
White Sox's Tim Anderson: Still not ready for rehab stint
Anderson (hand) is not yet ready to begin a rehab assignment, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
The White Sox were hoping to get Anderson back this week, and there is still a chance that could happen. However, with him already missing six weeks and not yet ready for game action, the likelihood of that occurring is lessening.

Trevor Story SS | BOS
Red Sox's Trevor Story: Takes seat again Tuesday
Story (heel) is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Reds.
Story ran Sunday and had an extra day to rest with the Red Sox off Monday, but he is still not ready to return to action. Story was close to getting back on the field last week, but as things stand, it's unclear when he will be cleared to do so.

J.P. Crawford SS | SEA
Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Laces third triple Monday
Crawford went 2-for-3 with a triple, a walk and two runs in a win over the Angels on Monday.
Crawford belted his third triple of the season in the third inning -- ironically the only time he reached base that he didn't come around to score. The veteran shortstop has been getting particularly good wood on the ball of late, as he's now sporting a .290 average and .984 OPS over the last 10 games thanks in part to the fact he's laced five of his nine hits during that span for extra bases.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Tigers' Javier Baez: Hits 14th home run
Baez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Sunday's loss to the White Sox.
Baez was scratched from Saturday's lineup due to right knee soreness, though he did record a single as a pinch hitter. He kept it rolling Sunday with his 14th home run of the season, and the veteran is now batting .379 this month with three home runs and 11 RBI. Baez's overall numbers don't look as good, but at least he's showing some positive signs heading into 2023, which could be a bounceback campaign.

Livan Soto SS | BAL
Angels' Livan Soto: Homers in first start
Soto went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Mariners.
Soto entered Saturday's game off the bench and went 0-for-1 before drawing the start at shortstop Sunday. He was aboard on a single in the third inning for his first big-league hit, then scored on a Luis Rengifo homer. In the seventh, Soto went yard himself to pad the Angels' lead. The 22-year-old isn't a particularly notable prospect, but he slashed .281/.379/.362 across 119 games with Double-A Rocket City this year. He should have a chance to compete with Michael Stefanic and Rengifo for playing time in the middle infield over the last couple of weeks of the season.

Nick Allen SS | HOU
Athletics' Nick Allen: Notches second steal Saturday
Allen went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run in a win over the Astros on Saturday.
Allen led off the fifth inning with a single before swiping second and then coming home on Seth Brown's go-ahead three-run home run. The steal was only the rookie's second in four attempts this season, but he's shown some modest signs of life at the plate of late by hitting safely in six of his last seven games.
