Story (sports hernia) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Worcester on Sunday, Sean McAdam of MassLive.com reports.

Story traveled to Worcester on Friday for a workout, and after checking out fine, he's been given the green light to play in games for the first time since May 14. Given the length of Story's absence due to sports hernia surgery, he'll likely need to make several appearances in the minors before making his return from the 60-day injured list. Once activated, Story could displace Andruw Monasterio as the Red Sox's preferred option at shortstop.

Wilson (hand) is not in the Athletics' starting lineup against the Rangers on Saturday.

Wilson was removed from Friday's game against Texas after he was hit by a pitch on his left hand in the first inning. He'll be on the bench for the beginning of Saturday's contest, with Alika Williams starting at shortstop and batting ninth.

Witt went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and two walks in Friday's 7-6 win over the Angels.

Witt reached base three times, scoring twice as part of a winning effort for the Royals. The star shortstop has reached base safely in all 10 games since recovering from tightness in his lower back, slashing .342/.432/.421 with three doubles, three RBI, 11 runs and two stolen bases over that span. Overall, Witt is hitting .285/.358/.447 with 13 homers, 25 doubles, 42 RBI, 62 runs and 32 stolen bases across 104 contests.

Rocchio went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo home run in Friday's 7-5 loss to the Padres.

Rocchio swatted his 10th home run of the season in the second inning and ended a 21-game stretch without going deep. After a promising first half of the season, Rocchio has hit the skids in the second half; he entered Friday with a .173/.221/.235 slash line over the previous 25 games. Per Tim Stebbins of MLB.com, Guardians manager Stephen Vogt took ownership of Rocchio's struggles, attributing them to a decision to move the shortstop around the batting order while the team dealt with injuries. Rocchio was returned to his familiar ninth spot in the order for the last four games and currently has a modest three-game hit streak (4-for-12).

Henderson went 4-for-4 with a double, a two-run home run and an additional run scored during the Orioles' 6-5 win over the Rays on Friday.

Henderson matched a season high with four hits, the last of which was a two-run homer off Chris Roycroft in the eighth inning to extend Baltimore's lead to 6-2. Henderson has recorded at least three hits 12 times this season, including twice over his last three outings. He has an .888 OPS with one steal, two home runs and four RBI across 49 plate appearances in August.

Wilson was removed from Friday's game against the Rangers after getting hit on the hand by a pitch, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Wilson initially remained in the game after taking a 95-mph sinker off his hand in the first inning, but he was lifted for a pinch hitter when his spot in the order came up again in the second. He was diagnosed with a contusion after the game, per Gallegos, which suggests Wilson avoided suffering a fracture, though Alika Williams could still be in line to start at shortstop if the A's opt to give Wilson a day off to recover.

The Mariners placed Emerson on the 10-day injured list Friday with left wrist inflammation, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.

It was originally reported that Emerson was on his way back to Triple-A after getting off to a slow start in the big leagues, but he will instead end up on the major-league injured list due to a wrist injury he suffered while with the big club. Brock Rodden will come up from Tacoma to replenish Seattle's infield depth and could take over as the Mariners' primary shortstop until Emerson or J.P. Crawford (wrist) returns from the IL.

Neto is not in the starting lineup Thursday night against the Rangers, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Neto will get a breather after he went 2-for-12 with a double, an RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases over the first three games of the series against Texas. Denzer Guzman will draw the start at shortstop and bat sixth in the series finale versus the Rangers.

The Mariners optioned Emerson to Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Emerson hasn't quite lived up to the expectations that come with being a top prospect since arriving in the majors in May, slashing just .190/.246/.335 across 241 plate appearances while striking out at a 34.4 percent clip. The Mariners will now send him back to Tacoma in an effort to help him rediscover his swing, leaving Leo Rivas as the favorite to start at shortstop until J.P. Crawford (wrist) returns from the injured list.

The Rays optioned Williams to Triple-A Durham on Thursday.

Williams will lose his place with the big club after the Rays signed Jorge Mateo to a major-league deal Thursday. Williams owns a .710 OPS across 358 plate appearances in the minors this year but has been overmatched by big-league pitching, slashing just .108/.154/.216 over 16 games with the Rays.
