Carlson (skin infection) won't play again in 2026, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
Carlson fractured his thumb in late May but was able to return less than two months later. However, he's now dealing with a skin infection and is slated to miss the remainder of the campaign. The 20-year-old saw the bulk of his action with Single-A Kannapolis and slashed .256/.388/.338 with no homers, 36 runs, 20 RBI, 13 stolen bases and a 41:58 BB:K over 57 games.
