Javier (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a live batting practice session Friday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Javier is ready to take the next step in his recovery from a Grade 2 right shoulder strain that landed him on the injured list in mid-April. He'll continue to throw bullpen sessions and live batting practices until he's progressed enough to embark on a rehab assignment. The expectation is that Javier will need multiple starts in the minors, so he may not be ready to be activated from the IL until early July.

The Astros optioned Alexander to Triple-A Sugar Land on Wednesday.

Alexander saved the Astros' bullpen Tuesday against the Rangers by managing to go six innings despite allowing eight runs in the opening frame. Nevertheless, he will head back to the minors as Houston adds Logan VanWey to the bullpen.

Perez said after Wednesday's 2-1 loss to the Blue Jays that he will undergo further imaging on his right hamstring, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

After limiting the Blue Jays to three base hits while striking out nine and issuing no walks over four scoreless frames, Perez was pulled in advance of the fifth inning of his start Wednesday due to a right hamstring spasm. The Marlins will send Perez in for an MRI to glean more information on the severity of the injury, which the right-hander indicated is already beginning to show some improvement. Until the results of his imaging are available, Perez's status for his next turn through the rotation Tuesday in Washington is up in the air.

Lowder (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.

Lowder threw a successful live batting practice session Wednesday, clearing the way for him to pitch in an official game. The right-hander is slated to throw 70 pitches in Tuesday's outing, so it might be the only rehab start he needs before rejoining the Cincinnati rotation. Lowder has been on the shelf since early May due to right shoulder discomfort.

Sandoval (biceps/elbow) threw a 30-pitch bullpen session Wednesday, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

Sandoval will next progress to a live batting practice session Saturday, which will be the first time he's faced hitters since experiencing a setback in the form of a biceps issue in late April. The left-hander initially went on the injured list before the season as he continued his recovery from internal brace surgery. Sandoval noted Wednesday that he has a timetable in mind for a return, but he declined to divulge what it is. He threw 5.1 rehab innings before the setback and will need to restart a rehab assignment once he's deemed game-ready.

Perez was removed after four innings in his start Wednesday against the Blue Jays due to a right hamstring spasm, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Before abruptly leaving the game, Perez was cruising along to his best start of the season. He held the Blue Jays off the board through the first four innings, allowing just three hits -- all singles -- and no walks while recording a season-high nine punchouts. According to Hazel Mae of Sportsnet, Perez appeared to suffer the injury while doing some stretching prior to the fifth inning and needed assistance to get down the steps in the Miami dugout before heading to the clubhouse. The Marlins should have more information on the severity of Perez's injury in the days to come, but the fact that his hamstring issue is being listed as a spasm rather than a strain offers hope that he'll avoid missing his next start, which is tentatively set for next Tuesday in Washington.

The Blue Jays transferred Berrios (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Wednesday.

The transaction clears space on the 40-man roster for Connor Seabold, who was acquired via trade with Detroit. Berrios is out for the rest of this season and a big chunk of 2027 after having Tommy John surgery last week.

The Orioles recalled Gibson from Triple-A Norfolk and will have him start Wednesday's game against the Rays.

Baltimore optioned lefty Nick Raquet to Triple-A to open up a spot on the active roster for Gibson, who will likely be in line for just one start while the Orioles are in the midst of a stretch of nine games in eight days. The 24-year-old righty has previously made two appearances (one start) for Baltimore this season, striking out four over 6.2 innings while yielding four earned runs on seven hits and three walks. Gibson hasn't covered more than five innings in any of his 10 outings between Baltimore and Norfolk this season, so he could struggle to work deep enough into Wednesday's contest to qualify for a win.

Lin (quadriceps) has allowed three earned runs on four hits and four walks while striking out eight batters over 10.1 innings in two starts for Double-A Midland since being reinstated from the 7-day injured list May 20.

The 20-year-old lefty missed about two weeks of action due to a left quad strain. One of the Athletics' top pitching prospects, Lin could soon be ready for a promotion to Triple-A Las Vegas after turning in a 2.03 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 51:13 K:BB in 44.1 innings through his first nine starts with Midland.

Triple-A Las Vegas placed Nett on its 7-day injured list April 28 due to an unspecified injury.

After opening the season on the IL at Las Vegas due to a rotator cuff injury, Nett was cleared to make his 2026 debut April 25, when he struck out five over 3.2 scoreless innings. He may have suffered an aggravation of the shoulder injury in that contest, however, as Las Vegas deactivated him just three days later. The Athletics protected Nett from the Rule 5 Draft over the winter and added him to the 40-man roster, but he'll need to get healthy and pitch effectively over an extended period at Las Vegas before getting the chance to make his big-league debut.
