  • Mets' Christian Scott: Throwing off mound

Scott (hip) threw a bullpen session Saturday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports. Scott reportedly didn't have any problems while throwing off a mound for the first time since landing on the injured list Monday with a right hip impingement. The Mets plan to have him throw a couple more mound sessions before activating him around the time he's eligible to return next Saturday.

  • Mets' Christian Scott: Shelved with hip impingement

The Mets placed Scott on the 15-day injured list Monday due to a right hip impingement. According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, Scott's hip issue isn't believed to be serious, which should give the right-hander a chance at returning from the IL around when he's first eligible June 27. The loss of Scott will still force the Mets to add two new members to the rotation this week, with Tobias Myers already having been recalled from Triple-A Syracuse to fill one of the openings during Monday's series opener in Cincinnati. Long reliever David Peterson is a candidate to cover Scott's spot in the rotation Tuesday, and Triple-A starters Jack Wenninger and Zach Thornton also loom as potential replacements.

  • Mets' Christian Scott: Ticketed for IL

The Mets are expected to place Scott on the 15-day injured list Monday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports. Scott is reportedly tending to a hip issue, according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post. Though it's unclear when Scott sustained the injury, the Mets believe that the 27-year-old righty is dealing with a minor concern. In any case, the loss of Scott further depletes the Mets' rotation depth and will require the team to add another pitcher to the mix Tuesday, when Scott had been scheduled to start against the Reds. If he isn't needed in relief of starter Tobias Myers in Monday's series opener, David Peterson could be a leading candidate to take Scott's spot in the rotation. The Mets could also look to call up Jack Wenninger or Zach Thornton from Triple-A Syracuse to fill a spot until Kodai Senga (arm) is cleared to return from the IL.

  • Mets' Christian Scott: Gives up three homers Thursday

Scott did not factor into the decision in the Mets' 5-4 win over the Cardinals on Wednesday, giving up four runs on seven hits and a walk over 4.2 innings. He struck out six. Scott struggled to keep the ball in the park Wednesday -- he surrendered four runs on three homers in the first two innings. Coming into the day, Scott had given up just one home run this season and none in his previous starts (29.2 innings) leading up to Wednesday, so the long ball isn't a major concern despite New York's power display. The right-hander now sports a 3.10 ERA with a 1.35 WHIP and 47:19 K:BB across 40.2 innings this season. Scott is tentatively lined up to face the Reds on the road in his next outing.

  • Mets' Christian Scott: Strikes out eight for first win

Scott (1-0) earned the win against the Marlins on Saturday, allowing one run on five hits and two walks with eight strikeouts over five innings. Scott opened with four scoreless frames before allowing a run in the fifth, generating 11 swinging strikes on a season-high 96 pitches. Though he's struggled to work deep into games, the 26-year-old has yielded three earned runs or fewer in each of his seven starts this season while recording at least five strikeouts in six of them. He'll carry a 2.97 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 38:16 K:BB across 30.1 innings into a road matchup against the Padres next weekend.

  • Mets' Christian Scott: No-decision against Detroit

Scott did not factor into Wednesday's decision against the Tigers, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out five across 4.2 innings. Scott got off to a rocky start by yielding two runs in the first inning, and he allowed at least two baserunners in four of five frames before being pulled with two outs in the fifth. It was the second straight start in which Scott didn't complete the fifth inning, though he's given up two earned runs or fewer in each of his last three outings. He'll take a 3.45 ERA and 1.40 WHIP (across 15.2 innings) into his next start, which is lined up for next week on the road against the Nationals.

  • Mets' Christian Scott: Remaining in rotation

Scott is slated to start Wednesday's game against the Rockies at Coors Field. The 26-year-old righty was sent back to the minors after walking five batters and recording just four outs in a spot start April 23 versus the Twins, but Scott was called up just a few days later after the Mets needed a replacement in the rotation for the injured Kodai Senga (back). Scott fared much better in his start Friday against the Angels, striking out eight batters while yielding three runs (two earned) on three hits and no walks over five innings. With Senga facing an uncertain timeline for his return from the injured list, Scott could be in line for an extended stay in the big-league rotation, provided he's able to avoid the control problems that plagued him in his 2026 MLB debut.

  • Mets' Christian Scott: Rejoining big club

The Mets recalled Scott from Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday. The right-hander was called up for his season debut last week and was returned to Syracuse after giving up one run on no hits and five walks over 1.1 innings, but he'll make a quick return to the majors with Kodai Senga (back) heading to the injured list. Scott should now get a longer look in the rotation, which was the initial plan before his abbreviated outing forced the Mets to shuffle their bullpen pieces.

  • Mets' Christian Scott: Can't find plate in season debut

Scott allowed one run on no hits and five walks while striking out one batter over 1.1 innings in a no-decision against Minnesota on Thursday. Scott was promoted from Triple-A Syracuse earlier in the day and made his first big-league appearance since 2024. Though he was charged with just one run, the outing was a mess for the right-hander, as he threw only 18 of 43 pitches for strikes, walked five batters, hit another batter and was called for a balk. The run Scott gave up came as a result of four first-inning free passes, and he nearly walked another batter, falling behind 3-0 in the count before eventually getting Luke Keaschall to fly out. Despite the rough outing, Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said after Thursday's contest that the team plans to give Scott another turn in the rotation, per Max Goodman of NJ.com.

  • Mets' Christian Scott: Promoted ahead of start

The Mets recalled Scott from Triple-A Syracuse ahead of his start against the Twins on Thursday. Scott owns a 5.27 ERA and 1.14 WHIP through 13.2 innings at Triple-A, but he's given up just two earned runs in 10.1 frames across his last two starts. He'll now return to the Mets' rotation for the first time since 2024 -- he spent all of 2025 recovering from Tommy John surgery -- and face a Twins offense that is batting just .227 through its first 24 games. Austin Warren was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

  • Mets' Christian Scott: Entering big-league rotation

Manager Carlos Mendoza announced Tuesday that Scott will be called up from Triple-A Syracuse to start Thursday's game against the Twins, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports. The right-hander surrendered six earned runs over 3.1 innings during his season debut with Syracuse on April 3, but he has a 1.74 ERA, 0.58 WHIP and 12:2 K:BB over 10.1 frames in his past two Triple-A starts. Scott is now set to make his first MLB start since 2024, which is when he made his big-league debut with nine starts before requiring Tommy John surgery with an internal brace.

  • Mets' Christian Scott: Knocking on door for promotion

Scott has posted a 1.74 ERA, 0.58 WHIP and 12:2 K:BB in 10.1 innings over his last two starts for Triple-A Syracuse. In his most recent outing Wednesday, the 26-year-old right-hander fired 50 of 82 pitches for strikes but lost a showdown with top Yankees prospect Elmer Rodriguez. Scott got tagged for six runs in 3.1 innings in his season debut after sitting out all of 2025 while recovering from elbow surgery, but his quick turnaround coincides with the struggles of David Peterson and Kodai Senga in the Mets' big-league rotation. If New York elects to shake things up after a 7-13 start to the campaign, Scott is a likely candidate to get a promotion.

  • Mets' Christian Scott: Sent down after impressive spring

The Mets optioned Scott to Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday. Scott got stretched out to 56 pitches over three-plus innings in his most recent Grapefruit League start Monday, allowing three runs and striking out four Nationals batters. He generated seven whiffs with his splitter and four more with his fastball in Monday's outing. It's no surprise to see him ticketed for Triple-A to start his first full season back from Tommy John surgery, but Scott could be the first name called when the big-league rotation needs reinforcements. All told, Scott logged a 4.50 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 8:4 K:BB in six innings during Grapefruit League play. He threw 89.2 innings in 2024 and missed all of 2025 while recovering from a hybrid Tommy John and internal brace surgery.

  • Mets' Christian Scott: Faces hitters Monday

Scott (elbow) threw approximately 30 pitches in his first live batting practice session of spring training Monday, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports. Per Albanese, Mets manager Carlos Mendoza noted that Scott hit 95 miles per hour with his fastball and flashed an impressive cutter during the throwing session. Though Scott looks to be fully healthy after missing the entire 2025 season while recovering from a September 2024 Tommy John surgery with an internal brace, Mendoza noted that the 26-year-old righty is uncertain to head north with the big club for Opening Day. Given the Mets' ample starting depth along with the fact that he's coming off a major injury and has minor-league options remaining, Scott could find himself on the outside looking in for a rotation spot. Before requiring the elbow procedure, Scott performed adequately over his nine starts with the Mets in 2024, logging a 4.56 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 39:12 K:BB in 47.1 innings.

  • Mets' Christian Scott: Will be full-go for spring training

Scott (elbow) expects to be a full participant during spring training, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports. Recovering from a hybrid Tommy John and internal brace procedure on his right elbow, Scott was scheduled to throw a live bullpen session Tuesday. It was the fourth time he's faced hitters since the September 2024 surgery and the second time he's done so on a five-day schedule. The righty said he's been sitting around 94 mph and touching 96 mph during his bullpen sessions. Scott will now go through a de-loading period before ramping his throwing back up in January. While Scott could be slow-played at the start of spring training following a long layoff, he should be ready to go for the start of the regular season. A spot in the Opening Day rotation is unlikely, but the 26-year-old could be part of the Mets' rotation at some point in 2026.

  • Mets' Christian Scott: Tosses bullpen session

Scott threw a bullpen session last week and is "doing well" in his recovery from right elbow surgery, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports. It was Scott's first bullpen session since he underwent a hybrid Tommy John and internal brace procedure on his pitching elbow last September. He's not expected to pitch this season and remains on the 60-day injured list.

  • Mets' Christian Scott: Starting season on 60-day IL

The Mets placed Scott (elbow) on the 60-day injured list Feb. 12 make room for the signings of Pete Alonso and Drew Smith (elbow), Joe DeMayo of SNY reports. The 25-year-old right-hander underwent a hybrid Tommy John and internal brace procedure on his elbow last September and is set to miss the entire 2025 campaign. Scott could be a factor in the Mets' rotation plans in 2026 if he makes a full recovery.

  • Mets' Christian Scott: Month away from throwing

Scott (elbow) said Wednesday that he's about a month away from beginning a throwing program, SNY.tv reports. Scott is nearly five months removed from a hybrid Tommy John surgery and internal brace procedure on his right elbow. He will miss the entire 2025 campaign, but assuming all goes well with his rehab, should be ready to go for the start of the 2026 season.

  • Mets' Christian Scott: Set for hybrid elbow procedure

Scott's (elbow) agent, Nate Heisler, announced Wednesday via social media that the right-hander will undergo a traditional Tommy John surgery combined with an internal brace early next week. Scott was placed on the 15-day injured list shortly after the All-Star break with a UCL sprain in his right elbow, but the Mets had initially been optimistic that the 25-year-old would be able to avoid surgery and make a late-season return. He was cleared to start throwing off flat ground in late August and advanced to throwing bullpen sessions earlier this month, but Scott appears to have hit a snag in his recovery that has prompted him to get surgery. Since Scott is set to undergo a hybrid procedure involving the internal brace, he may have a slightly speedier recovery than if he had opted for Tommy John surgery alone, but he's still likely to miss the entire 2025 season.

  • Mets' Christian Scott: Progressing in rehab program

Scott (elbow) threw off a mound Friday, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports. Scott was limited to his fastball and changeup Friday, but he is expected to use his full arsenal the next time he throws off a mound. He has been on the injured list since July 23 due to a UCL sprain in his right elbow. Prior to the injury, Scott went 0-3 over nine starts with a 4.56 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 39:12 K:BB across 47.1 innings.
