Mets' Christian Scott: Goes 4.2 innings vs. Rockies
Rotowire
Scott didn't factor into the decision Thursday against Colorado, allowing a run on three hits and two walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out six.
After issuing five walks in just 1.1 frames in his major-league start of the year, Scott has given up only three earned runs over 9.2 innings with a 14:2 K:BB in his last two outings. The young right-hander figures to get an extended run in the Mets' rotation with Kodai Senga (back) sidelined, especially given his improved recent form. Scott is tentatively lined up to face the Tigers at home in his next start.

Mets' Christian Scott: Remaining in rotation
Rotowire
Scott is slated to start Wednesday's game against the Rockies at Coors Field.
The 26-year-old righty was sent back to the minors after walking five batters and recording just four outs in a spot start April 23 versus the Twins, but Scott was called up just a few days later after the Mets needed a replacement in the rotation for the injured Kodai Senga (back). Scott fared much better in his start Friday against the Angels, striking out eight batters while yielding three runs (two earned) on three hits and no walks over five innings. With Senga facing an uncertain timeline for his return from the injured list, Scott could be in line for an extended stay in the big-league rotation, provided he's able to avoid the control problems that plagued him in his 2026 MLB debut.

Mets' Christian Scott: Rejoining big club
Rotowire
The Mets recalled Scott from Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday.
The right-hander was called up for his season debut last week and was returned to Syracuse after giving up one run on no hits and five walks over 1.1 innings, but he'll make a quick return to the majors with Kodai Senga (back) heading to the injured list. Scott should now get a longer look in the rotation, which was the initial plan before his abbreviated outing forced the Mets to shuffle their bullpen pieces.

Mets' Christian Scott: Can't find plate in season debut
Rotowire
Scott allowed one run on no hits and five walks while striking out one batter over 1.1 innings in a no-decision against Minnesota on Thursday.
Scott was promoted from Triple-A Syracuse earlier in the day and made his first big-league appearance since 2024. Though he was charged with just one run, the outing was a mess for the right-hander, as he threw only 18 of 43 pitches for strikes, walked five batters, hit another batter and was called for a balk. The run Scott gave up came as a result of four first-inning free passes, and he nearly walked another batter, falling behind 3-0 in the count before eventually getting Luke Keaschall to fly out. Despite the rough outing, Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said after Thursday's contest that the team plans to give Scott another turn in the rotation, per Max Goodman of NJ.com.

Mets' Christian Scott: Promoted ahead of start
Rotowire
The Mets recalled Scott from Triple-A Syracuse ahead of his start against the Twins on Thursday.
Scott owns a 5.27 ERA and 1.14 WHIP through 13.2 innings at Triple-A, but he's given up just two earned runs in 10.1 frames across his last two starts. He'll now return to the Mets' rotation for the first time since 2024 -- he spent all of 2025 recovering from Tommy John surgery -- and face a Twins offense that is batting just .227 through its first 24 games. Austin Warren was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Mets' Christian Scott: Entering big-league rotation
Rotowire
Manager Carlos Mendoza announced Tuesday that Scott will be called up from Triple-A Syracuse to start Thursday's game against the Twins, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
The right-hander surrendered six earned runs over 3.1 innings during his season debut with Syracuse on April 3, but he has a 1.74 ERA, 0.58 WHIP and 12:2 K:BB over 10.1 frames in his past two Triple-A starts. Scott is now set to make his first MLB start since 2024, which is when he made his big-league debut with nine starts before requiring Tommy John surgery with an internal brace.

Mets' Christian Scott: Knocking on door for promotion
Rotowire
Scott has posted a 1.74 ERA, 0.58 WHIP and 12:2 K:BB in 10.1 innings over his last two starts for Triple-A Syracuse.
In his most recent outing Wednesday, the 26-year-old right-hander fired 50 of 82 pitches for strikes but lost a showdown with top Yankees prospect Elmer Rodriguez. Scott got tagged for six runs in 3.1 innings in his season debut after sitting out all of 2025 while recovering from elbow surgery, but his quick turnaround coincides with the struggles of David Peterson and Kodai Senga in the Mets' big-league rotation. If New York elects to shake things up after a 7-13 start to the campaign, Scott is a likely candidate to get a promotion.

Mets' Christian Scott: Sent down after impressive spring
Rotowire
The Mets optioned Scott to Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday.
Scott got stretched out to 56 pitches over three-plus innings in his most recent Grapefruit League start Monday, allowing three runs and striking out four Nationals batters. He generated seven whiffs with his splitter and four more with his fastball in Monday's outing. It's no surprise to see him ticketed for Triple-A to start his first full season back from Tommy John surgery, but Scott could be the first name called when the big-league rotation needs reinforcements. All told, Scott logged a 4.50 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 8:4 K:BB in six innings during Grapefruit League play. He threw 89.2 innings in 2024 and missed all of 2025 while recovering from a hybrid Tommy John and internal brace surgery.

Mets' Christian Scott: Faces hitters Monday
Rotowire
Scott (elbow) threw approximately 30 pitches in his first live batting practice session of spring training Monday, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports.
Per Albanese, Mets manager Carlos Mendoza noted that Scott hit 95 miles per hour with his fastball and flashed an impressive cutter during the throwing session. Though Scott looks to be fully healthy after missing the entire 2025 season while recovering from a September 2024 Tommy John surgery with an internal brace, Mendoza noted that the 26-year-old righty is uncertain to head north with the big club for Opening Day. Given the Mets' ample starting depth along with the fact that he's coming off a major injury and has minor-league options remaining, Scott could find himself on the outside looking in for a rotation spot. Before requiring the elbow procedure, Scott performed adequately over his nine starts with the Mets in 2024, logging a 4.56 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 39:12 K:BB in 47.1 innings.

Mets' Christian Scott: Will be full-go for spring training
Rotowire
Scott (elbow) expects to be a full participant during spring training, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
Recovering from a hybrid Tommy John and internal brace procedure on his right elbow, Scott was scheduled to throw a live bullpen session Tuesday. It was the fourth time he's faced hitters since the September 2024 surgery and the second time he's done so on a five-day schedule. The righty said he's been sitting around 94 mph and touching 96 mph during his bullpen sessions. Scott will now go through a de-loading period before ramping his throwing back up in January. While Scott could be slow-played at the start of spring training following a long layoff, he should be ready to go for the start of the regular season. A spot in the Opening Day rotation is unlikely, but the 26-year-old could be part of the Mets' rotation at some point in 2026.

Mets' Christian Scott: Tosses bullpen session
Rotowire
Scott threw a bullpen session last week and is "doing well" in his recovery from right elbow surgery, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
It was Scott's first bullpen session since he underwent a hybrid Tommy John and internal brace procedure on his pitching elbow last September. He's not expected to pitch this season and remains on the 60-day injured list.

Mets' Christian Scott: Starting season on 60-day IL
Rotowire
The Mets placed Scott (elbow) on the 60-day injured list Feb. 12 make room for the signings of Pete Alonso and Drew Smith (elbow), Joe DeMayo of SNY reports.
The 25-year-old right-hander underwent a hybrid Tommy John and internal brace procedure on his elbow last September and is set to miss the entire 2025 campaign. Scott could be a factor in the Mets' rotation plans in 2026 if he makes a full recovery.

Mets' Christian Scott: Month away from throwing
Rotowire
Scott (elbow) said Wednesday that he's about a month away from beginning a throwing program, SNY.tv reports.
Scott is nearly five months removed from a hybrid Tommy John surgery and internal brace procedure on his right elbow. He will miss the entire 2025 campaign, but assuming all goes well with his rehab, should be ready to go for the start of the 2026 season.

Mets' Christian Scott: Set for hybrid elbow procedure
Rotowire
Scott's (elbow) agent, Nate Heisler, announced Wednesday via social media that the right-hander will undergo a traditional Tommy John surgery combined with an internal brace early next week.
Scott was placed on the 15-day injured list shortly after the All-Star break with a UCL sprain in his right elbow, but the Mets had initially been optimistic that the 25-year-old would be able to avoid surgery and make a late-season return. He was cleared to start throwing off flat ground in late August and advanced to throwing bullpen sessions earlier this month, but Scott appears to have hit a snag in his recovery that has prompted him to get surgery. Since Scott is set to undergo a hybrid procedure involving the internal brace, he may have a slightly speedier recovery than if he had opted for Tommy John surgery alone, but he's still likely to miss the entire 2025 season.

Mets' Christian Scott: Progressing in rehab program
Rotowire
Scott (elbow) threw off a mound Friday, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports.
Scott was limited to his fastball and changeup Friday, but he is expected to use his full arsenal the next time he throws off a mound. He has been on the injured list since July 23 due to a UCL sprain in his right elbow. Prior to the injury, Scott went 0-3 over nine starts with a 4.56 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 39:12 K:BB across 47.1 innings.

Mets' Christian Scott: Resumes throwing
Rotowire
Scott (elbow) played catch Monday and Tuesday, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports.
It's the first bit of throwing he's done since he was diagnosed with a sprained UCL in his right elbow in late July. Scott threw 35 fastballs from 75 feet Tuesday and will progress to 90 feet in his next throwing session. There's no timetable for the rookie right-hander's return, but it will take multiple weeks for him to become game-ready.

Mets' Christian Scott: Nearing throwing program
Rotowire
Manager Carlos Mendoza said Tuesday that Scott (elbow) will likely be cleared to begin a throwing program withing the next several days, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Scott was expected to be shut down from throwing for two weeks once he landed on the injured list July 23 with a UCL sprain in his right elbow, so Mendoza's comments suggest that the 25-year-old remains on schedule in his recovery. A clear return timeline for the right-hander likely won't emerge until his throwing program ramps up, though a best-case scenario probably wouldn't see him rejoin the Mets' rotation until September.

Mets' Christian Scott: Won't undergo elbow surgery yet
Rotowire
Scott plans to treat the UCL sprain in his right elbow with rest and rehab with the hope of returning from the 15-day injured list later this season, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
According to Will Sammon of The Athletic, Scott will initially be shut down for two weeks before being re-evaluated. Though UCL sprains are often a precursor to Tommy John surgery or a similar arm operation down the road, Scott told Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News that he dealt with the same injury in the minors last season and was able to return to action in 21 days. The Mets are likely to act more conservatively with Scott's injury this time around, and a September return probably represents a best-case scenario for the rookie even if he's cleared to resume throwing following the two-week shutdown period.

Mets' Christian Scott: Can't get through fifth inning
Rotowire
Scott allowed three runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out five batters over 4.1 innings in a no-decision against Colorado on Saturday.
Scott gave up a third-inning solo homer but was up 4-1 heading into the fifth. However, the rookie ran into trouble in that frame, surrendering a one-out, two-run home run to Charlie Blackmon followed by a double and a walk. That was enough to earn him the hook, eliminating his chance of emerging with a victory. Scott still doesn't have a win to his ledger through eight big-league outings, though he's been able to hold his head above water with three quality starts and a 4.36 ERA along with a 1.11 WHIP through 43.1 innings.

Mets' Christian Scott: Yields two runs in no-decision
Rotowire
Scott did not factor into the decision in Monday's 8-2 loss to Pittsburgh, allowing two runs on one hit and one walk over 5.2 innings. He struck out three.
The rookie right-hander held the Pirates in check, with both runs scoring on a 431-foot homer by Oneil Cruz in the fourth inning. With this effort, Scott lowered his season ERA to 4.15 across 39 innings, but he's struggled to generate punchouts, fanning 30 for a 6.9 K/9. The 25-year-old is currently slated to make his next start against Colorado at home this weekend. However, Scott may lose his rotation spot after the All-Star break, as Kodai Senga (shoulder) is scheduled for a rehab start at Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday, lining up the Japanese right-hander to join the Mets soon.
