The Diamondbacks will option Bratt to Triple-A Reno prior to Thursday's game in St. Louis, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.

Bratt had a solid abbreviated major-league debut Wednesday versus the Cardinals, yielding one run over three innings of work. The left-hander is not fully stretched out yet after recently returning from injury at Reno, so he will continue to rebuild his stamina at the team's top minor-league affiliate. Brandon Pfaadt will enter the Arizona rotation in Bratt's place.

Kolek won't be available to make his scheduled start Friday against the White Sox and is expected to be placed on the paternity list prior to the contest, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports.

Once he's officially placed on the list, Kolek will be away from the club for the next 1-to-3 days, by rule. He could rejoin the team this weekend to make a start against the White Sox, though the Royals might also opt to just skip the right-hander's turn through the rotation. Kolek is coming off his worst start of the season, having allowed nine runs over 1.2 innings in a loss to the Cardinals last Sunday.

Knack (chest) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, yielding two runs on five hits and one walk over 1.1 innings.

Knack struck out a pair in the outing and got his pitch count up to 33. The right-hander has been out all season with an intercostal strain, and he will be built up as a starting pitcher before likely remaining in the OKC rotation once he's activated from the 60-day injured list.

Paddack elected free agency Wednesday after clearing waivers.

Rather than accepting an outright assignment to Triple-A Louisville after the Reds designated him for assignment Monday, Paddack will head to the open market in search of his next opportunity. After going 0-7 with a 6.96 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 39:19 K:BB in 53 innings over his 13 appearances (nine starts) between the Twins and Reds this season, Paddack may have to settle for a minor-league deal if he wants to keep his career going.

The Rays recalled Grove from Triple-A Durham on Thursday.

Grove finished his rehab from shoulder surgery and was optioned to Durham recently following the conclusion of his rehab assignment. Now, he's back in the big leagues as a replacement for the injured Steven Matz (ankle). Assuming Grove appears in a game, it will be his first at the big-league level since 2024.

The Rays placed Matz on the 15-day injured list Thursday with a left ankle sprain.

It's unclear when or how Matz was injured, but it will cost him at least the next two weeks of action. Matz has been roughed up for 10 runs (nine earned) over seven innings in five appearances since being demoted to the Rays' bullpen.

Fedde didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 4-3 extra-inning loss to the Guardians, giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits and three walks over four innings of relief. He struck out two.

Working behind opener Chris Murphy, Fedde dealt with traffic on the basepaths in every frame he was on the mound for, but the veteran right-hander was able to keep Cleveland off the board until finally buckling in the sixth inning and getting lifted after 75 pitches (44 strikes). Fedde was on the hook for his seventh loss of 2026, but he escaped when the White Sox tied it up in the ninth off Guardians closer Cade Smith. Fedde has been stingy over five appearances (one start) in June, posting a 1.69 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 16:7 K:BB through 21.1 innings. His next turn through the rotation, either as a traditional starter or bulk reliever, is scheduled to come on the road early next week in Baltimore.

Bibee didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 4-3 extra-inning win over the White Sox, allowing three hits and a walk over six scoreless innings. He struck out three.

The right-hander overcame a 160-minute rain delay before the first pitch to put together one of his best outings of the season, but Bibee saw his third win slip away when Cade Smith suffered a rare blown save in the ninth inning. Bibee tossed 58 of 89 pitches for strikes as he produced his ninth quality start of the season, and over four trips to the mound in June he's delivered a 1.71 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 21:7 K:BB over 26.1 innings. Bibee will look to stay locked in for his next trip to the mound, which is set to come at home early next week against the Rangers.

Ryan (5-4) took the loss Wednesday against the Dodgers, allowing four runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out nine over six innings.

Ryan's outing got off to a rough start when Mookie Betts led off the second inning with a solo homer, and Los Angeles added three more runs in the third to build what proved to be the decisive lead. Despite the loss, the right-hander's stuff remained electric, as he matched his season high with nine strikeouts and generated 17 swinging strikes. Ryan has now completed at least six innings in eight of his last nine starts. He'll carry a 3.18 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 108:19 K:BB across 93.1 innings into his next scheduled start on the road against Houston.

Mlodzinski threw three scoreless innings with three strikeouts while allowing two hits and no walks to earn the save Wednesday against the Mariners.

Mlodzinski continues to serve in a bulk-relief role, this time following Braxton Ashcraft while finishing off a blowout win for the Pirates. He earned his second save in the process and has not been charged with an earned run in each of his last three appearances. However, Mlodzinski's fantasy relevance remains limited because he's pitching about once a week on a starter's schedule, yet with lesser volume and win potential.
