Severino (11-7) took the loss Tuesday, giving up four runs on seven hits and a walk over four innings as the Mets fell 5-1 to Atlanta. He struck out five.

The right-hander picked a bad time to have his worst start of September, and his shortest outing since July 31. Severino needed 89 pitches (61 strikes) to record 12 outs, and he saw his quality start streak end at four. He's been one the Mets' most reliable arms during their playoff push, posting a 3.17 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 52:14 K:BB over his last eight trips to the mound, and Severino could be pitching with a wild-card spot on the line in his final start of the regular season, which lines up to come Sunday in Milwaukee.

Webb (13-10) got the win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday after throwing six shutout innings while allowing four hits and a walk. He struck out three.

Webb was staked a seven-run lead by the third inning and that lead grew to 10 by the fifth. Still, he never let up and tossed his seventh outing of at least six scoreless innings this season. Tuesday was likely Webb's final start of the season. He'll finish as one of a handful of pitchers to surpass 200 innings this season and he currently sits 10th in the National League with a 3.47 ERA. Overall, Webb owns a 3.47 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 172:50 K:BB in 204.2 innings.

Poteet is expected to join the Yankees and could be formally recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre ahead of Wednesday's game against the Orioles, Jack Curry of YES Network reports.

Nestor Cortes had been scheduled to start Wednesday, but after being sent in for an MRI on his elbow, he now appears unlikely to be available. Poteet will be a candidate to pitch in some capacity Wednesday if he's recalled, though the Yankees could prefer to keep him on hand as a member of the taxi squad while they await more information on Cortes' injury. Poteet has made four starts for the Yankees this season, collecting a 2.14 ERA and 13:7 K:BB over 21 innings.

Cameron has a 2.32 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 62:11 K:BB in 54.1 innings through nine starts for Triple-A Omaha.

A 25-year-old lefty with a plus changeup, Cameron's sparkling numbers at Triple-A likely oversell his MLB potential, but he should get a chance to help the big-league rotation next season. Cameron had a 3.63 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 87 strikeouts in 74.1 innings through 16 starts at Double-A. His fastball ranges from 90-94 mph and he'll evenly mix in his cutter, changeup and curveball to keep hitters guessing. He will need to be added to the 40-man roster this offseason as Rule 5 draft protection.

Cortes will undergo an MRI on his left elbow Wednesday, Jack Curry of YES Network reports.

Cortes had been slated to start Wednesday's game against the Orioles, but his immediate future is now cloudy while he awaits the MRI results. The veteran left-hander has been excellent lately, allowing just one earned run over his last 15.1 innings of work and boasting a 1.58 ERA covering his last 40 frames. Marcus Stroman -- whose last outing was a three-inning relief appearance Sept. 17 -- is a likely candidate to start Wednesday's contest. Cody Poteet is also expected to join the club at Yankee Stadium, although it's unclear whether he'll join the taxi squad or be added to the active roster.

Knack (3-5) took the loss Tuesday against Padres, allowing four runs on five hits and a walk while striking out four in four innings.

Knack was hit pretty hard in this one, allowing a second-inning homer to Jake Cronenworth and then a pair of doubles and a single in the fourth. Knack has allowed four home runs and owns a 5.82 ERA across four starts in September and is set for an unappealing matchup against the Rockies at Coors Field over the weekend.

Bello came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Blue Jays, giving up two runs on two hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out four.

While the right-hander didn't pitch poorly, Bello needed 75 pitches (42 strikes) to record his 12 outs, putting extra pressure on the Boston bullpen in a contest that eventually went to 10 innings. Bello wraps up his campaign with a career-high 14 wins, a 4.49 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 153:64 K:BB through a career-high 162.1 innings, and the 25-year-old figures to be a key part of the team's 2025 rotation plans.

King (13-9) got the win over the Dodgers on Tuesday, allowing one run (zero earned) on three hits and two walks while striking out three over five innings.

The Dodgers made King work hard to get through five innings and he was done after 95 pitches. King is on a miraculous run of allowing three runs or fewer in each of his last 14 starts and now sits at a 2.95 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 201:63 K:BB in 173.2 innings. He's tentatively lined up to make a start this weekend against the Diamondbacks but it's also possible the Padres skip him in order to save him up for the postseason.

Eovaldi did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's loss to the Athletics, allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits and three walks while striking out seven in seven innings.

The Athletics plated a pair of runs against Eovaldi in the first, another in the third and then scratched across one more in the sixth stemming from an error earlier in the inning. Eovaldi only allowed four hits, two of which came in the first inning, and his seven strikeouts were his second most in eight starts since Aug. 10. Eovaldi is now winless in his last three starts and holds a 7.56 ERA over that span. For the year, he holds a 3.96 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 161:41 K:BB in 163.2 innings and lines up to face the Angels over the weekend in his final start of the year.

The Reds transferred Williamson (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Ian Gibaut, who was activated from the 60-day IL. Williamson is set to undergo Tommy John surgery, which is likely to sideline him until 2026.
