Blake Snell SP | LAD
Giants' Blake Snell: Expects another rehab start
Snell (adductor) said that he expects to make another rehab start before returning from the 15-day injured list, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Snell had a dominant first rehab start with Single-A San Jose on Sunday, throwing an immaculate inning on his way to seven strikeouts across four perfect frames. The lefty threw just 46 pitches in the outing but did get in an additional 15 tosses in the bullpen after the appearance. Snell noted that the decision on where he will pitch next will ultimately be made by manager Bob Melvin and the team's medical staff, but the southpaw believes he could use another tune-up against stiffer competition. Snell is tracking toward a return from the IL early next week.

Nate Savino P | ARI
Diamondbacks' Nate Savino: Rehabbing in ACL
Savino (shoulder) began a rehab assignment with the Diamondbacks' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate May 4 and has struck out six over 4.1 scoreless innings while allowing one hit and three walks through his first three appearances.
Savino remains on Single-A Visalia's 7-day injured list and is expected to join the Diamondbacks' California League affiliate once he completes his assignment in the ACL. Since being drafted in 2022, the 22-year-old lefty has yet to make his debut in full-season ball after undergoing surgery in 2023.

David Peterson SP | NYM
Mets' David Peterson: Moving rehab to Double-A
Peterson (hip) will make his next rehab start with Double-A Binghamton on Tuesday or Wednesday, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
The 28-year-old southpaw has made three rehab starts for Single-A St. Lucie, posting a dazzling 16:1 K:BB over 8.2 scoreless innings, and he appears ready for tougher competition as he completes his recovery from offseason hip surgery. Peterson is eligible to come off the injured list May 27, but the Mets rotation is crowded at the moment with prospect Christian Scott now in the majors and Tylor Megill (shoulder) poised to be activated from the 15-day injured list this week. Peterson has a minor-league option remaining, so he may get sent to Triple-A Syracuse once he's activated.

Tylor Megill SP | NYM
Mets' Tylor Megill: Sharp again Sunday in rehab start
Megill (shoulder) struck out six while giving up seven hits and no walks over 5.1 scoreless innings in his rehab start for Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday.
In what could be the right-hander's final rehab start, Megill built up to 74 pitches (55 strikes) as he dominated Lehigh Valley. Over four rehab appearances, Megill has an eye-popping 23:1 K:BB over 14 innings while allowing just one run. There's no clear vacancy in the big-league rotation at the moment with Christian Scott getting promoted from Triple-A earlier this month, but the Mets could go with a six-man rotation in the short term, as they don't get a day off until May 23. If he stays on turn, Megill would get activated from the 15-day injured list Friday for a road start against the Marlins.

Kodai Senga SP | NYM
Mets' Kodai Senga: Working through mechanical issues
Senga (shoulder) won't face hitters again until he works through some mechanical issues, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
The right-hander threw 32 pitches in a live bullpen session last weekend, but he apparently wasn't satisfied with how it went. Senga will take a step back in his throwing program and go back to more controlled bullpen sessions without hitters involved until he's sure he won't be developing any bad habits as he progresses in his rehab from a shoulder strain. While the caution is smart in the long run, the hiccup will almost certainly ensure that Senga won't be ready to join the Mets rotation when he's first eligible to come off the 60-day injured list in late May.

Luis Severino SP | ATH
Mets' Luis Severino: Settles for no-decision Sunday
Severino did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 4-3 win over Atlanta. He allowed two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out four over five innings.
Severino served up a solo home run to Jarred Kelenic in the second inning but otherwise limited the damage. His night ended after allowing the first two hitters to reach in the sixth and he was ultimately charged with another run. Severino has now failed to reach six innings in consecutive starts and has issued nine walks over his last 10 innings pitched. He now owns a 3.00 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 41:20 K:BB in 45 innings and will look to get back in the win column over the weekend against the Marlins having not picked up a win since April 17.

Andry Lara SP | WAS
Nationals' Andry Lara: Moving up to Double-A
The Nationals promoted Lara from High-A Wilmington to Double-A Harrisburg on Monday, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.
The 21-year-old righty from Venezuela spent the entire 2023 campaign with Wilmington but earned a quick promotion this season upon returning to the South Atlantic League. Over six starts with Wilmington spanning 30.2 innings, Lara compiled a 2.35 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 39:9 K:BB.

Bryce Elder SP | ATL
Braves' Bryce Elder: Sharp in no-decision
Elder pitched well in Sunday's loss to the Mets but did not factor into the decision. He allowed two runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out six in 5.1 innings.
Elder fell just two outs short of his second quality start of the year. The lone damage against him came off the bat of Pete Alonso, who had an RBI single in the third and another run-scoring double in the sixth. Elder tossed 65 of 85 pitches for strikes and managed to not issue any free passes after allowing eight walks over his last 8.2 innings. The 25-year-old owns a 4.79 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 16:8 K:BB in 20.2 innings and lines up for a home start against the Padres his next time out.

Blake Snell SP | LAD
Giants' Blake Snell: Four perfect frames in rehab start
Snell (adductor) struck out seven over four perfect innings in his first rehab start with Single-A San Jose on Sunday.
Snell even completed an immaculate inning in the first as part of an impressive showing from the southpaw. The results should be taken with a grain of salt given the level of competition, but the bottom line for Snell was certainly encouraging. Snell got his pitch count up to 46 in his four efficient frames, which would seem to point to him needing at least one more rehab start before being activated from the 15-day injured list. He's been out since late April with a Grade 2 adductor strain.

Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA
Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Looks like himself
Hendricks didn't factor into the decision Sunday against Pittsburgh, allowing one run on two hits and four walks across five innings. He struck out five.
Hendricks was placed on the IL on April 23 with a lower back strain, a move that followed an extremely uncharacteristic start to the season. Prior to the injury, Hendricks stumbled to a 12.00 ERA and a 2.10 WHIP with eight homers allowed across 21.0 innings. Considering Hendricks had allowed 28 combined home runs over 221.1 innings the past two seasons and owned a 3.54 career ERA before 2024, Sunday's start was much more in line with Hendricks' averages. While one solid start doesn't mean fantasy managers should expect the Hendricks of old moving forward, it's a positive sign amid a not-so-positive season for Hendricks. He's lined up for a rematch with the Pirates on Friday.
