Anthony DeSclafani RP | ARI
Reds' Anthony DeSclafani: Takes loss Tuesday
DeSclafani (0-1) allowed four runs on six hits and a walk while striking out five over five innings in Tuesday's loss to the Rockies.
DeSclafani ran into trouble early in his first major-league start since Sept. 28, 2016. The Rockies put up two runs in the first inning on three base hits before Chris Iannetta slugged a two-run homer in the second inning to give his club a 4-0 lead. DeSclafani settled in after that and faced the minimum over the next three frames before being removed from the contest after throwing 91 pitches (55 for strikes). His next start projects to come Sunday against the Cardinals.

Kyle Freeland SP | COL
Rockies' Kyle Freeland: Grabs sixth win Tuesday
Freeland (6-5) was credited with the win Tuesday against the Reds. He allowed three runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out seven over 6.2 innings.
Freeland was taken deep by Scott Schebler in the fifth inning but was otherwise able to navigate through the first six frames without running into any serious jams. He came back out for the seventh but saw two additional runs tacked onto his ledger after allowing three singles and a walk before being lifted from the contest. Freeland is now 5-1 in his last six starts and has pitched six or more innings in five of his past six outings. He'll take on the Diamondbacks this Sunday.

Zach Eflin SP | BAL
Phillies' Zach Eflin: Quality start in win Tuesday
Eflin (2-2) got the win Tuesday, allowing one run on eight hits and a walk while striking out two over 7.2 innings against the Cubs.
Eflin was staked out to an early five-run lead and was able to cruise most of the night despite notching just two punchouts. The 24-year-old induced 11 swinging strikes and was through 7.2 scoreless innings before yielding a single and RBI double to the final two batters he faced. It's been all or nothing thus far with the young righty, as he's notched quality starts with either one or no runs allowed in three starts while failing to get out of the fifth inning in his other three. He'll look to build on Tuesday's outing his next time out, Sunday against the Brewers.

Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA
Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Allows five runs in Tuesday loss
Hendricks (4-5) allowed five earned runs over five innings in a losing effort Tuesday against the Phillies. He gave up five hits and three walks while striking out five.
The five earned runs were the most Hendricks has allowed this season, while the five innings pitched matched a season low. The 28-year-old still carries a solid 3.59 ERA and will look to shake off this subpar performance quickly. He lines up to face the Pirates for the third time this season in his next scheduled start Sunday.

Yu Darvish SP | SD
Cubs' Yu Darvish: Resumes throwing
Darvish (triceps) played catch Tuesday, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Tuesday's session marked the first time Darvish was able to play catch since landing on the disabled list near the end of May. The Cubs will wait and see how his triceps responds before determining the next step in his rehab, leaving his return date up in the air.

Julio Teheran SP | BAL
Braves' Julio Teheran: Lands on disabled list
Teheran was placed on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday with a right thumb contusion.
Teheran jammed his thumb while batting during Monday's game, and while X-rays came back negative, the issue is apparently bothersome enough to warrant a stay on the shelf. He'll be eligible to return June 15 should he ultimately prove ready. Thanks to a pair of well-placed off days, the Braves can move forward with a four-man rotation until June 16. Luke Jackson was summoned to the majors in a corresponding roster move.

Rich Hill SP | KC
Dodgers' Rich Hill: Confident finger is healed
Hill threw 60-to-100 pitches with his finger uncovered Tuesday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Hill said that he was confident in his finger being healed after he experienced no issues during Tuesday's session. The southpaw even said he would be open to pitching out of the bullpen if it helps him return sooner. The Dodgers will likely wait and see how Hill's finger responds in the coming days before determining the next step in his rehab, but he's certainly trending in the right direction.

Carlos Martinez SP | SF
Cardinals' Carlos Martinez: Activated ahead of start
Martinez (lat) was activated from the 10-day disabled list and will start Tuesday against the Marlins.
Martinez came through his lone minor-league rehab appearance with no issues -- allowing two runs while striking out four across four innings with Double-A Springfield on Thursday -- clearing the way for him to rejoin the Cardinals' rotation after missing the past four weeks with a right lat strain. Prior to landing on the disabled list, Martinez compiled a shiny 1.62 ERA to go with his 47 strikeouts in 50 innings (eight starts). He'll look to pick up where he left off in a favorable matchup against the Marlins.

Anthony DeSclafani RP | ARI
Reds' Anthony DeSclafani: Returns from DL ahead of start
DeSclafani (oblique) was activated from the disabled list and will start Tuesday against the Rockies, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic Cincinnati reports.
As expected, DeSclafani is set to make his 2018 big-league debut after completing his minor-league rehab assignment with no issues. The 28-year-old allowed 10 runs across 19.1 innings in four starts between Double-A Pensacola and Triple-A Louisville during his rehab assignment. DeSclafani posted a solid 3.28 ERA across 20 starts for the Reds in 2016, but injuries have kept him from pitching in the majors since then, so it's tough to know what to expect from the righty in his return.

Julio Teheran SP | BAL
Braves' Julio Teheran: Dealing with thumb injury
Teheran described his injury as a "jammed thumb" after Monday's game, Jay Paris of MLB.com reports. "It happened in [my] last at-bat, when [Padres starter Clayton Richard] threw me inside and it hurt. I thought I was going to be able to throw the ball, but I couldn't."
An X-ray taken on the thumb after the game came back negative, and the Braves seem confident that Teheran won't miss his next start Sunday on the road against the Dodgers. The right-hander now sports a 4.31 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 56:33 K:BB through 71 innings on the year, but he's been struggling badly over his last five starts, stumbling to a 6.11 ERA and 14:15 K:BB over 28 frames with an ugly 2.6 HR/9.
