Rich Hill SP | KC
Dodgers' Rich Hill: Could return next weekend
Hill (finger) could join the Dodgers' rotation next weekend against the Giants, Pedro Moura of The Athletic Los Angeles reports.
He will throw a four-inning simulated game Saturday, and if all goes well, his next outing will be in the big leagues. Hill has been getting up to nine laser treatments per day on his blister, which have expedited the healing process, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports. The Dodgers only play five games next week, so Hill could theoretically return Friday, Saturday or Sunday against San Francisco, if all goes well.

Brandon Woodruff SP | MIL
Brewers' Brandon Woodruff: Starting for Brewers on Sunday
Manager Craig Counsell announced that Woodruff will start Sunday's game against the Phillies.
Woodruff will be summoned from Triple-A Colorado Springs, with whom he has posted a 2.10 ERA over six starts this season. He has worked as both a starter and reliever for the big club this year with mixed results, but he did have his best MLB start of the year in his last appearance with the Brewers, giving up just two earned runs and one hit over five innings on May 16. It's uncertain whether or not Woodruff will remain in the rotation beyond Sunday, but that will depend both on how he pitches, and the health of fellow pitcher Zach Davies (shoulder).

Noah Syndergaard SP | CLE
Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Could return next weekend
Syndergaard (finger) could return next weekend in Arizona in a best-case scenario, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
Syndergaard was lined up to return from the disabled list Sunday, but the Mets changed plans after the right-hander experienced swelling and discomfort following a throwing session. If he does not have any further issues with the finger in the coming days, Syndergaard could throw a simulated game toward the middle of next week in a bid to return for the Diamondbacks series, set for June 14-17. Seth Lugo will fill in for Syndergaard in the rotation for the time being.

Justin Dunn RP | CHW
Mets' Justin Dunn: Promoted to Double-A
Dunn was promoted to Double-A Binghamton on Friday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
The 19th overall pick in the 2016 draft, Dunn was pretty mediocre in his first full season in 2017, but has reestablished his prospect stock this season. He logged a 2.36 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 51:15 K:BB in 45.2 innings (nine starts) at High-A, and will look to further increase his stock by producing at a more age-appropriate level.

Johnny Cueto SP | LAA
Giants' Johnny Cueto: Could return June 30
Cueto (elbow) threw 35 pitches in Friday's bullpen session and still hopes to return June 30 in Arizona, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
He wants to throw two more bullpen sessions and a live batting practice session before embarking a rehab assignment. Cueto also said he may only require two rehab starts before coming off the disabled list, so a return at the end of the month is possible if he doesn't experience any setbacks between now and then. He also mentioned that in April, he was 100 percent sure he would need Tommy John surgery, so this really is evolving into a best-case scenario.

Seth Lugo SP | KC
Mets' Seth Lugo: Starting Sunday against Yankees
Lugo will start Sunday against the Yankees, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Noah Syndergaard dealt with swelling and discomfort in his sprained finger after a throwing session, so he was scratched from his scheduled return start Sunday. Lugo has logged four and three innings in his last two outings, respectively, throwing 87 pitches across those two appearances. While he is an excellent ratios play as a long reliever, Lugo should not be expected to pitch deep enough into Sunday's game to qualify for a win. It is unclear if Syndergaard will be able to return to the rotation next week, but Lugo should remain the fifth starter until Thor comes off the disabled list.

Noah Syndergaard SP | CLE
Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Scratched from Sunday's start
Syndergaard (finger) experienced swelling and discomfort after playing catch and will not start Sunday against the Yankees, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Seth Lugo will start the finale of the Subway Series, and it's unclear when Syndergaard will be ready to slot back into the rotation. The Mets will need a fifth starter again Saturday, June 16 in Arizona. Syndergaard threw off the slope of a mound last Sunday, which was his first activity since a May 25 start against the Brewers. Hopefully there will be more clarity about his timetable before weekly lineups lock next week.

Tyler Glasnow SP | LAD
Pirates' Tyler Glasnow: Hit hard by Dodgers
Glasnow was tagged for three earned runs over two innings of relief Thursday against the Giants. He allowed a home run and a walk while registering two strikeouts.
The Pirates and Dodgers were neck-and-neck Thursday before Glasnow's shaky outing allowed Los Angeles to break the game open. He had given up just one earned run over a 14.2-inning stretch from May to early June, but Thursday marked his second outing with a home run allowed. Still, two rough outings won't be enough to knock Glasnow out of his middle-relief role.
-
Jameson Taillon SP | TOR
Pirates' Jameson Taillon: Takes loss to Dodgers
Taillon (3-5) took the loss Thursday, allowing three earned runs over five innings. He racked up seven strikeouts but also allowed eight hits and a walk over 92 pitches.
Taillon wasn't necessarily the problem for the Pirates as he kept them in the game before the mixture of Tyler Glasnow and Michael Feliz coughed up five earned runs behind him. Still, it wasn't Taillon's best effort overall; his eight hits allowed tied for his second-most in a single outing this season. His strikeout total makes it four straight starts with at least six strikeouts, however. Taillon is lined up to make his next start Tuesday against Clay Buchholz and the Diamondbacks.

Tyler Mahle SP | ATL
Reds' Tyler Mahle: Lasts five innings in no-decision
Mahle didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Rockies, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks across five innings. He struck out six.
It was another short outing from Mahle, who continues to struggle to pitch deep into games. While the 23-year-old has allowed just two runs over his last two starts, each outing lasted five innings, and he's now completed six frames in just five of his 13 starts this season. Mahle now owns a 4.33 ERA and 67:26 K:BB through 68.2 innings. Next up is a favorable matchup on the road against the Royals.
