Tyler Anderson SP | LAA
Rockies' Tyler Anderson: Fires seven strong in no-decision Thursday
Anderson didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Reds, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk across seven innings. He struck out five.
Anderson got back on track Thursday after allowing five runs through five innings in his previous outing. The southpaw certainly deserved the win, exiting the game prior to the eighth inning with a 5-2 lead, but the Rockies' bullpen was unable to hold the lead and the team went on to lose in 13 innings. He'll now carry a 4.81 ERA and 7.8 K/9 into his next start, which will come on the road against the Phillies.

Miles Mikolas RP | WAS
Cardinals' Miles Mikolas: Fires seven strong innings
Mikolas (7-1) tossed seven innings, allowing one unearned run on three hits, a walk and five strikeouts in Thursday's 4-1 win over Miami.
Mikolas wasted no time getting back in the win column after taking his only loss of the season his last time out. Seeing MLB action for the first time since 2014, the 6-foot-5 righty is one of this season's breakout surprises. He owns a shiny 2.27 ERA and a stellar 58:9 K:BB across 79.1 innings. Mikolas will take the mound again next week at home against the Padres.

Kenta Maeda SP | NYY
Dodgers' Kenta Maeda: Not in line for weekend activation
Maeda (hip) isn't listed among the Dodgers' probable starting pitchers for the team's weekend series against the Braves, Eric Stephen of TrueBlueLA.com reports.
The right hip strain that landed Maeda on the 10-day disabled list last week isn't viewed as a significant, but the right-hander won't be activated over the weekend when first eligible. There's no indication that Maeda suffered a setback in his recovery over the last couple of days and it's not expected that he'll require a rehab assignment, so a return during the upcoming week could be in the offing. The Dodgers should provide more clarity regarding their rotation plans following their series finale with Atlanta on Sunday.

Stephen Strasburg SP | WAS
Nationals' Stephen Strasburg: Ready for Friday's start
The Nationals are listing Strasburg (forearm) as their probable starter for Friday's game against the Giants, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.
Though he notched double-digit strikeouts for the third time this season in his last outing June 1 against the Braves, Strasburg needed 107 pitches to record 20 outs and complained of cramps in his left (non-throwing) arm afterward. Thanks to off days Monday and Thursday this week, Strasburg had a little more time than usual to recover from the heavy workload, and after completing his pre-start bullpen session without incident, he won't miss a turn through the rotation. Strasburg is scheduled to oppose Andrew Suarez in the series opener in Washington.

Antonio Senzatela RP | MIL
Rockies' Antonio Senzatela: Dealing with groin tightness
Senzatela was removed from his start with Triple-A Albuquerque in the first inning Wednesday due to groin tightness, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
Senzatela was at 32 pitches with just two outs in the first inning before getting the hook. The Rockies deemed his removal precautionary and said the 23-year-old is fine, so it doesn't sound like he'll require a stint on the minor-league DL as a result of the minor injury. Senzatela owns a solid 2.70 ERA and 33:8 K:BB across six starts (26.2 innings) with the Isotopes this season.

Clayton Kershaw SP | LAD
Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Plays catch Thursday
Kershaw (back) played catch and began "moderate strength stuff" according to manager Dave Roberts, Andy McCullough of The Los Angeles Times reports.
Roberts added that it was a good week for Kershaw, who was recently diagnosed with a lower-back strain last weekend, and is expected to remain sidelined until July. Though he could wind up on the shelf until after the All-Star Game, the left-hander received a bit of good news as an MRI ruled out any sort of structural damage to the disks in his back. Expect another update on his status as he continues to rehab this latest injury.

Tyler Cloyd SP | MIA
Marlins' Tyler Cloyd: Optioned back to minors
Cloyd was sent down to Triple-A New Orleans on Thursday, Andre Fernandez of the Miami Herald reports.
In a corresponding move, the club officially recalled Trevor Richards for his start against St. Louis on Thursday. Over seven appearances with the Marlins this season, Cloyd has logged a disastrous 8.66 ERA and 1.98 WHIP with a 13:10 K:BB in 17.2 innings of relief. Even though he could return in the near future, don't expect Cloyd to see any high-leverage situations in the majors.

Mike Soroka SP | ARI
Braves' Mike Soroka: Fans seven in Wednesday's rehab start
Soroka (shoulder) allowed one run on three hits and a walk over 4.1 innings while striking out seven for Triple-A Gwinnett in Wednesday's loss to Lehigh Valley.
The right-hander threw 52 of 73 pitches for strikes in his second rehab outing, but despite his workload and success the Braves are in no hurry to rush him back to the majors and are likely to give him one more minor-league start to get fully stretched out. Soroka posted a 3.68 ERA and 15:4 K:BB through 14.2 innings in his first three big-league starts before the shoulder woes arose.
-
Joey Wentz SP | ATL
Braves' Joey Wentz: Out with undisclosed injury
Wentz (undisclosed) has not pitched since May 11.
He got pounded in his last outing, almost a month ago, giving up five runs on two hits and six walks in just 1.2 innings, so it seems like he probably suffered an injury during that outing. The nature of the injury and timetable for his return are unclear. He has a 3.77 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 23:19 K:BB in 28.2 innings for High-A Florida.
-
Jack Flaherty SP | DET
Cardinals' Jack Flaherty: Takes second loss despite six strikeouts
Flaherty (2-2) allowed six runs (four earned) on eight hits and a walk with six strikeouts through five innings in a loss Wednesday against the Marlins.
Flaherty allowed four earned runs for the first time in seven starts as the Marlins hit him hard, scoring a pair of doubles and a home run off the Cardinals rookie. He was still nasty at times, as he induced 12 swinging strikes in 92 pitches, but the floodgates burst open in the fifth aided by an error by shortstop Yairo Munoz. Despite the hiccup, Flaherty still owns a brilliant 42:10 K:BB in 39.1 innings to go with a 3.20 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP. He'll look to keep his strong start going Monday against the Padres.
