Touki Toussaint RP | LAA
Braves' Touki Toussaint: Could make MLB debut Monday
Toussaint appears to be a likely candidate to start against the Marlins during Monday's doubleheader, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
Toussaint last appeared against Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday, so he will be well rested for Monday's outing should he be called upon. The 22-year-old has impressed across five starts with Gwinnett since being called up to the Triple-A level in early July, logging a 2.01 ERA and 1.19 WHIP with 32 strikeouts in 31.1 innings.

Steven Matz RP | TB
Mets' Steven Matz: Simulated game on tap
Matz (forearm) will toss a simulated game Saturday and could return to the rotation during Thursday's twin bill against Philadelphia, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
Manager Mickey Callaway added that the Mets are considering moving forward with a six-man rotation upon Matz's return, in order to keep Corey Oswalt in the fold. If all goes according to plan with Saturday's test against live hitting, Matz should be cleared for activation prior to Thursday's doubleheader.

Adam McCreery SP | ATL
Braves' Adam McCreery: Sent down to Gwinnett
McCreery was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday.
McCreery made his big-league debut during Thursday's loss to the Nationals, allowing two earned runs on four hits while striking out a pair in one inning of relief. He will be a candidate to return to Atlanta when the club requires a fresh arm in the bullpen.
-
Wes Parsons RP | CLE
Braves' Wes Parsons: Sent down to Gwinnett
Parson was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday.
As expected, Parsons will journey back down to the minors after tossing five innings of relief against the Nationals on Thursday to cover for the early exit of Anibal Sanchez (calf). During that outing, he allowed four earned runs on six hits and three walks while striking out three. In a corresponding move, Adam McCreery was also sent down to Gwinnett while Chad Sobotka and Chad Bell were called up to the majors.

Drew Rucinski SP | ATH
Marlins' Drew Rucinski: Activated from DL
Rucinski (groin) was reinstated from the 10-day disabled list Friday, Andre Fernandez of the Miami Herald reports.
Rucinski will rejoin the active roster after spending the past month on the shelf due to a right groin strain. In a corresponding move, the club placed Kyle Barraclough (back) on the DL. Through 13 appearances with the Marlins this year, Rucinski has logged a 3.12 ERA and 0.87 WHIP with 14 strikeouts across 17.1 innings of relief.

Jake Thompson SP | PHI
Phillies' Jake Thompson: Designated for assignment
Thompson was designated for assignment by the Phillies on Friday, Meghan Montemurro of The Athletic reports.
Thompson was cast off the 40-man roster in order to make room for the recently acquired Justin Bour, who was traded to Philadelphia from Miami for McKenzie Mills on Friday. Across nine games with the Phillies this year, Thompson posted a 4.96 ERA and 1.53 WHIP in 16.1 innings of relief. He was currently on Triple-A Lehigh Valley's roster at the time of this transaction.

Stephen Strasburg SP | WAS
Nationals' Stephen Strasburg: About two weeks away from return
Strasburg (neck) will toss a 60-pitch bullpen session Saturday, followed by a simulated game Wednesday, and manager Dave Martinez expects him to require a minor-league start before coming off the disabled list, Chelsea Janes of The Washington Post reports.
If this plan sticks, Strasburg would likely embark on a rehab assignment around Aug. 20. This would line him up for a return to the Nationals' rotation against the Mets the following weekend, though he still has a few hurdles to clear before the team will pin down a concrete date.

Zach Davies SP | WAS
Brewers' Zach Davies: Set for rehab start this weekend
Davies (shoulder) will make a rehab start for Double-A Biloxi on Saturday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
This could very well be his last rehab start after throwing 79 pitches across 4.2 innings with Triple-A Colorado Springs on Monday. Davies said Friday that he will rejoin the big-league club in Chicago during the team's two-game set next week, but remained uncertain as to whether he will require another rehab start following Saturday's outing. If it's determined that he won't need any more minor-league tune-ups, Davies may be back in Milwaukee's rotation next weekend.

Yu Darvish SP | SD
Cubs' Yu Darvish: Moved to 60-day DL
Darvish (shoulder) was put on the 60-day disabled list Friday, Bruce Miles of the Daily Herald reports.
This was merely a procedural move in order to make room for the recently signed Jorge De La Rosa on the 40-man roster, as Darvish has already spent over 60 days on the shelf. Looking ahead, Darvish is expected to toss another simulated game in the next couple days after throwing a 31-pitch session Wednesday.
