  • Cardinals' Carlos Martinez: Dominates in latest rehab

Martinez (shoulder) worked 1.2 scoreless innings in Triple-A Memphis' win over Nashville on Sunday, allowing two walks and recording three strikeouts.

The right-hander continues to largely cruise through his minor-league outings, with Sunday's serving as his longest thus far. Martinez worked up to 32 pitches Sunday, and he's slated to be back on the hill Wednesday for Double-A Springfield, when he's expected to exceed the 30-pitch mark once again.

  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Named Monday's starter

Peralta will start Monday's game against the Phillies, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Peralta threw the ball well his last time out as a primary pitcher out of the bullpen, tossing five scoreless frames against Washington. The 22-year-old has struggled to get through the first inning at times throughout his young career, but skipper Craig Counsell will give him another shot in the series opener.

  • Max Fried SP | NYY

Braves' Max Fried: Fans seven in fifth win

Fried (5-2) picked up the win after allowing three runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out seven over five innings Sunday against the Diamondbacks.

Fried cruised through three scoreless innings before surrendering three runs in the bottom of the fourth, but he exited the contest with his squad up by a run. The 25-year-old's status was up in the air entering the day after taking a comebacker off his hand in his last start, but he proved his health by turning in a solid outing. The lefty owns a 3.25 ERA and 1.20 WHIP with a 41:9 K:BB over 44.1 innings this season.

  • Joe Musgrove SP | SD

Pirates' Joe Musgrove: GM looking for improvement

General manager Neal Huntington didn't indicate Musgrove was suffering a health issue when asked during his Sunday radio show on 93.7 The Fan.

"We haven't made some plays behind him ... he feels like he's ready to get back on track and be Joe Musgrove again his next time out," Huntington said. Musgrove underwent offseason hernia surgery but got off to a tremendous April start with Pittsburgh. He's surrendered 13 earned runs in 5.2 innings over his last two starts and walked a career-high five batters May 9.

  • Rich Hill SP | KC

Dodgers' Rich Hill: Confirmed for Friday

Hill will make his next start Friday at the Reds, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

The Dodgers' rotation games shuffled Hill around to leave Kenta Maeda to work Wednesday versus the Padres, and Vassegh affirmed earlier reports of Hill's assignment against the Reds with a clear date. The tough trip to Great American Ball Park may make Hill's early homer problems worse: He's yielded five big flies in three starts, over which he's been saddled with a 4.20 ERA despite a solid 14:3 K:BB in 15 frames.

  • Nationals' Stephen Strasburg: Pitches well in loss

Strasburg (3-3) tossed six innings against the Dodgers on Sunday, taking the loss in spite of allowing only two runs on four hits. He walked a pair and struck out seven.

Strasburg's effective performance was overshadowed by opposing starter Hyun-Jin Ryu holding Washington hitless for 7.1 innings. Nonetheless, the outing marked Strasburg's fourth quality start in his last five appearances -- a stretch in which he has racked up 47 strikeouts in 34.1 innings. Unfortunately, Washington's offense has provided Strasburg only 10 runs of support in those five starts and has been shut out in his last two outings. He'll carry a 3.63 ERA and 1.05 WHIP into his next start Saturday versus the Cubs.

  • Hyun-Jin Ryu SP | TOR

Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu: Nearly no-hits Nationals

Ryu (5-1) struck out nine and allowed only one hit and one walk in eight innings to earn a win against Washington on Sunday.

With his mom in attendance on Mother's Day, Ryu held the Nationals hitless until Gerardo Parra laced a one-out ground rule double in the eighth. The talented lefty then retired the next two batters in order to extend his scoreless inning streak to 24 -- the longest active streak in the majors. Ryu has been one of the best pitchers in baseball this season, with Sunday's gem lowering his ERA to 1.72 on the season. He also sports a 0.72 WHIP and a magnificent 54:3 K:BB ratio. He'll look to continue his dominance in his next start against Cincinnati on Sunday.

  • Tyler Mahle SP | ATL

Reds' Tyler Mahle: Turns in decent outing

Mahle surrendered four runs on six hits and a walk while striking out eight over 6.1 innings Sunday in a no-decision against the Giants.

All four of Mahle's runs came via the home-run ball, as he gave up a two-run blast in the first and seventh innings. He did manage to pound the strike zone, however, tossing 68 of 93 pitches for strikes. The right-hander owns a 3.97 ERA with a 49:8 K:BB through 45.1 innings this season.

  • Rockies' Antonio Senzatela: Moves to 3-2

Senzatela (3-2) picked up the win against the Padres on Sunday, giving up three earned runs on four hits over 6.2 innings, striking out seven and walking two as the Rockies won 10-7.

Senzatela was shelled for seven earned in 4.2 innings by the Giants in his last start, but he bounced back with a quality start in this contest to pick up his third win of the season. His numbers through 33.2 innings are unspectacular, as he's sporting a 5.35 ERA, a 1.40 WHIP and a 23:11 K:BB.

  • Cole Irvin RP | LAD

Phillies' Cole Irvin: Tosses gem in MLB debut

Irvin (1-0) allowed one run on five hits and a walk while striking out five over seven innings Sunday in a win over the Royals.

Irvin was stellar on the mound in his debut, allowing the only run of the contest in the third inning on a single to left field. He was also able to pound the strike zone, hurling 64 of 93 pitches for strikes. Vince Velasquez (forearm) is only expected to miss one start, though Irvin has certainly made a case to remain in the rotation.
