  • Patrick Corbin SP | TOR

Nationals' Patrick Corbin: Start postponed again

Corbin won't make his scheduled start Tuesday versus the Phillies due to inclement weather.

Corbin will have to wait another day after his start was postponed for the second consecutive day. According to Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post, the 29-year-old is scheduled to start Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader versus the Phillies.

  • Alex Wood RP | ATH

Reds' Alex Wood: Completes live BP

Wood (back) threw a 21-pitch live batting practice session Tuesday and is scheduled to throw another session Saturday, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Wood faced three batters Tuesday in what represented his first action against live hitters since going down with back spasms in spring training. The 28-year-old could embark on a minor-league rehab assignment next if all goes well Saturday. Wood will likely require numerous rehab starts given the length of his absence.

  • Julio Urias SP | LAD

Dodgers' Julio Urias: Could make spot start

Urias is likely to make a spot start Saturday against the Rockies, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

The Dodgers want to give Kenta Maeda an extra day of his rest before his next start after he took a comebacker off the wrist in Monday's game against the Giants, so Urias is a likely candidate to make a spot start in his place. The left-hander has started four games this season to mixed results, as he threw a combined 11 shutout innings in two of those outings, while coughing up eight earned over the other two.

  • Kenta Maeda SP | NYY

Dodgers' Kenta Maeda: Will get extra day of rest

Maeda (wrist) will get an extra day of rest before his next start, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Maeda took a comebacker off the wrist in the fourth inning of the Dodgers' loss to the Giants on Monday, and although he stayed in the game and X-rays came back negative, manager Dave Roberts said Tuesday the right-hander will get one extra day of rest to make sure he's fully recovered. This would push Maeda's next start to Sunday against the Rockies, with Julio Urias the likely candidate to make a spot start in his absence Saturday.

  • Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA

Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Could be out until All-Star break

Hendricks has a shoulder impingement which could keep him out until the All-Star break, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

Hendricks was diagnosed with shoulder inflammation when he landed on the injured list Saturday, and he said at the time that he was expecting a brief absence. Tests evidently revealed a slightly more serious injury, but the issue was apparently caught early and may not keep him out for too long.

  • Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Scheduled to return Thursday

Wainwright (hamstring) will return from the 10-day injured list to start Thursday against the Marlins, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.

Wainwright will wind up missing just a single turn through the rotation after leaving his previous start with hamstring soreness. Langosch also reports that Wainwright completed a bullpen session and agility work Monday and fielding activities Tuesday, which presumably sealed the team's decision to activate him. Wainwright owns a 4.46 ERA in 13 starts this season, the exact same figure he recorded in eight starts last year.

  • Dallas Keuchel SP | MIL

Braves' Dallas Keuchel: Manager confirms likely debut date

Manager Brian Snitker said he's hopeful Keuchel will be added to the Braves' roster to start Friday's game against the Nationals, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Atlanta is still listing Friday's pitcher as "TBA," but unless Keuchel reports some sort of physical issue within the next day or two, he'll make his team debut this weekend. The Braves already cleared a starting spot for Keuchel by moving Sean Newcomb (head) back to the bullpen, so the team won't need to reconfigure its rotation to clear room for the big free-agent pickup. Keuchel isn't expected to face any major workload restrictions upon joining the Braves after tossing 106 pitches in his most recent rehab start at Double-A Mississippi last weekend.

  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Needed out of bullpen

Peralta replaced starter Jhoulys Chacin in the fifth inning of Monday's loss to the Pirates and threw 2.1 scoreless innings out of the bullpen.

Peralta was on top of his game Monday, stranding three inherited runners by recording the final out of the fifth inning, hitting 97 on the radar gun and allowing just one runner to reach base. However, the extended outing, in which he threw 35 pitches, likely prevents him from starting for the Brewers anytime soon, as the rotation is already full and Gio Gonzalez (arm) is close to returning. That may not be the worst outcome for Peralta, though, considering he owns a 7.07 ERA over 35.2 innings in his eight starts this season, and a far better 1.84 ERA over 14.2 innings of relief. If the Brewers do want Peralta to continue working as a starter, they could decide to send him down when Gonzalez comes off the injured list.

  • Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Takes part in agility drills

Syndergaard (hamstring) played catch and took part in agility drills before Monday's game, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports. "It's really encouraging just going out there and not really having any limitations, not feeling any pain," Syndergaard said, noting that he felt only a slight pull in his hamstring during his afternoon workout. "So we're just taking things day-by-day."

The right-hander appears on track to miss only one turn through the rotation, although the Mets' schedule means they will actually need to find a fill-in option for Syndergaard twice before he's eligible to come off the IL on June 26.

  • Kenta Maeda SP | NYY

Dodgers' Kenta Maeda: X-rays on hand return negative

X-rays on Maeda's right hand returned negative after he was sent in for testing following his departure from Monday's 3-2 loss to the Giants, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Though Maeda limited the opposition to two runs over five innings and struck out four, it was hardly a smooth outing for the right-hander. Maeda needed 54 pitches to cover the first two innings and absorbed a comebacker off his hand in the fourth inning, which manager Dave Roberts said caused Maeda's hand to stiffen up. Maeda wasn't forced to exit because of the issue and is expected to be fine for his next start, but it wouldn't be surprising if the Dodgers changed course and elected to give him an extra day off between turns. With Los Angeles in the midst of a stretch of 18 games in 18 days, Roberts recently suggested that bullpen arms Julio Urias or Ross Stripling could make a spot start to afford the rotation some additional rest.
