Kenta Maeda SP | NYY
Dodgers' Kenta Maeda: Takes loss against Giants
Maeda (7-4) took the loss against the Giants on Monday, giving up two earned runs on three hits over five innings, striking out four and walking two in a 3-2 defeat for the Dodgers.
The right-hander bounced back with a nice start after getting tagged for five earned in 4.2 innings by the Angels in his last outing, but the Dodgers offense struggled to solve Tyler Beede and Maeda would ultimately take his fourth loss of the season. He had a 5.20 ERA following a six-run blowup against the Cubs on April 23, but Maeda has turned it around since then and now sports a 3.87 ERA, a 1.08 WHIP and a 77:26 K:BB through 76.2 innings.

Joey Lucchesi RP | LAA
Padres' Joey Lucchesi: Brilliant against Brewers
Lucchesi (6-4) got the win against the Brewers on Monday, tossing seven shutout innings, giving up three hits, striking out five and walking three in the Padres' 2-0 victory.
Lucchesi continued his strong recent form with this sterling effort, as he's now given up three earned runs or less in seven out of his last eight starts dating back to May 4. The left-hander has lowered his ERA from 5.00 to 3.74 over that stretch, to go along with a solid 1.11 WHIP and a 78:23 K:BB through 79.1 innings. He's scheduled to take the mound next on the road against the Pirates on Sunday.

Zack Wheeler SP | PHI
Mets' Zack Wheeler: Gets shelled again
Wheeler (5-5) allowed five runs (four earned) on 10 hits with four strikeouts and two walks across six innings while taking a loss against the Braves on Monday.
The Braves offense has hammered just about everything in its path lately, and that didn't change with Wheeler on the mound. Atlanta is averaging 10.7 runs per game over its last eight games. To be fair, though, the Yankees also crushed Wheeler to the tune of 10 hits and five earned runs (nine total) in his last start. Wheeler has given up nine runs in his last 10.2 frames (7.59). He is 5-5 with a 4.94 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 103 strikeouts in 94.2 innings this season. Wheeler will make his next start at the Cubs on Saturday.

Mike Soroka SP | ARI
Braves' Mike Soroka: Yields three runs in win
Soroka (8-1) allowed three runs on six hits with two strikeouts and one walk across six innings while earning a victory against the Mets on Monday.
The 21-year-old has been giving up more runs this month, but he continues to rack up wins. He is 3-0 with a 4.32 ERA in June. It helps that the Braves offense is absolutely on fire and has scored at least seven runs in each of his last four outings. Overall, Soroka is 8-1 with a 2.12 ERA, .201 batting average against, 0.98 WHIP and 62 strikeouts in 76.1 innings. He will face the Nationals on the road in his next start Sunday.

Michael Lorenzen RP | TOR
Reds' Michael Lorenzen: Posts third save
Lorenzen recorded the final two outs of the ninth, striking out one batter, during a 3-2 victory against the Astros to register his third save of the season Monday.
Reds closer Raisel Iglesias came in with one out and the tying run on first during the eighth. He faced three batters in that frame and then the first two hitters of the ninth, but after throwing 21 pitches, manager David Bell surprisingly went to Lorenzen for the final two outs. This is obviously a situation to monitor moving forward. Lorenzen is 3-for-4 in save opportunities this season with a 3.13 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 38 strikeouts in 37.1 innings.

Luis Castillo SP | CHW
Reds' Luis Castillo: Works around six walks in win
Castillo (7-1) allowed two runs on two hits with seven strikeouts and six walks across six innings while earning a victory against the Astros on Monday.
This was a pretty typical Castillo start. He's had control issues all season, but this was a new low, as Castillo walked a season-high six batters, raising his BB/9 to 4.5. However, opponents are also batting just .175 against Castillo, and as a result, he leads the league with a 5.4 H/9. That's enabled Castillo to post a 2.26 ERA and 1.11 WHIP. He is also 7-1 with 103 strikeouts in 87.2 innings this season. Castillo will look to keep his strong season going and maybe display a little better control in his next start Saturday at the Brewers.

Miles Mikolas RP | WAS
Cardinals' Miles Mikolas: Fires six shutout innings
Mikolas (5-7) yielded six hits across six shutout innings Monday, striking out four and earning the win over Miami.
After allowing five runs in five innings to the Marlins last week, it was great to see Mikolas come out and dominate this time around. All six hits he allowed were singles and just one base runner ever reached scoring position. His season ERA fell to 4.48 across 84.1 innings. Mikolas will look to begin a winning streak at home against the Angels on Saturday.

Kyle Freeland SP | COL
Rockies' Kyle Freeland: Quality start in Triple-A
Freeland gave up two earned runs on five hits over six innings, striking out three and walking one for Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday.
Freeland opened the game with five scoreless frames and retired 15 of 18 batters during one stretch in a sorely needed strong outing for the struggling left-hander. Freeland had a 7.13 ERA in 59.1 innings before getting sent down at the end of May, and his struggles had continued in his two outings for the Isotopes before this contest, so hopefully the quality start is a sign he's set to get on track.

Patrick Corbin SP | TOR
Nationals' Patrick Corbin: Start postponed by rain
Corbin won't make his scheduled start Monday against the Phillies due to inclement weather Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Corbin will toe the rubber Tuesday following the postponement, though Washington is likely to require a spot starter later in the week, per Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post. Monday's matchup will be made up Wednesday as part of a doubleheader.

Adam Wainwright SP | STL
Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Closing in on return
Wainwright (hamstring) threw a successful bullpen session Monday and could return to the rotation either Thursday against the Marlins or Friday against the Angels, Mark Saxon of The Athletic reports.
Wainwright suffered a left hamstring strain June 9, but he's made impressive progress since and should be activated from the injured list later in the week. Either Daniel Ponce de Leon or Michael Wacha could be headed to the bullpen upon Wainwright's return.
