Houser (2-2) allowed three runs on five hits and a walk while striking out seven over 5.2 innings in a win over the Marlins on Tuesday. He also went 1-for-1 at the plate with a solo home run in the second inning.

Houser allowed the leadoff batter to get on base in five of the six innings he came out for but was able to limit the damage enough to pick up the win. The Marlins got to him for a run in the first, fourth and fifth innings but he was able to punch out a season-high seven hitters and has held the opposing offense to three runs or less in all five starts this season. He'll take a 3.65 ERA into his next start.

Buehler allowed five earned runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out 10 across 6.1 innings Tuesday against Cincinnati. He did not factor into the decision.

Buehler allowed a home run to Jesse Winker to lead off the game but then settled in to throw four scoreless innings. However, he ran into trouble again later in his effort, surrendering four earned runs across his final 2.1 frames. On the other hand, he did manage to rack up double-digit strikeouts for the first time since Aug. 21 of the 2020 campaign.

Anderson (2-0) picked up the win in Tuesday's 6-0 victory over the Cubs, allowing one hit and one walk over seven scoreless innings while striking out eight.

The young right-hander is locked in right now, tossing 13.2 shutout innings over his last two starts to collect his first two wins of the year, Anderson also set a new season high with his eight punchouts Tuesday, making his exit after throwing 90 pitches (59 strikes). He'll take a 2.48 ERA and 31:12 K:BB through 29 innings into his next outing, likely to come May 4 on the road against the Nationals.

Kelly (2-2) picked up the win against San Diego on Tuesday, hurling six innings and allowing one run on four hits and two walks while striking out five.

Kelly breezed through five innings before being touched up for a pair of hits and a run in the sixth. That was the only score the Padres could muster in the contest, allowing Kelly to emerge with his second win in his past three outings. The quality start was the right-hander's first of the campaign and helped lower his season ERA to 6.33. He'll look to build upon the strong outing when he faces Colorado at home Sunday.

Peterson (1-3) took the loss Tuesday, giving up two runs on four hits and two walks over six innings as the Mets fell 2-1 to the Red Sox. He struck out three.

The left-hander was solid in his second quality start of the season, tossing 60 of 92 pitches for strikes, but he got the Jacob deGrom treatment from the Mets' offense. Homers have been an issue in the early going for Peterson as he's served up four in only 19.1 innings, fueling a 5.59 ERA and undermining a strong 21:7 K:BB. He'll look for a better result in his next outing Sunday in Philadelphia.

Paddack (1-3) took the loss against Arizona on Tuesday, pitching 5.1 innings and allowing five runs (three earned) on six hits and no walks while striking out five.

Paddack was victimized by poor defense early, as a second-inning two-out error tacked a pair of unearned runs to his ledger. He kept the Padres in the game until the sixth, when a pair of singles and a Carson Kelly homer resulted in a trio of runs. It was another uneven outing overall for Paddack, who has yet to pitch six full innings this season. His 5.40 ERA and 1.37 WHIP are each on pace for career-worst marks, and he has now lost three of his five starts. The right-hander will look for better results in his next start, currently scheduled for Monday at home against Pittsburgh.

Anderson gave up one run on three hits and two walks over six innings during Tuesday's 2-1 win over Kansas City. He had five strikeouts and didn't factor in the decision.

The left-hander was unable to pick up his third win of the season despite the strong showing, as Pittsburgh didn't score its second run of the contest until the bottom of the seventh inning. Anderson is pitching well to open the season with a 3.38 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 26:8 K:BB through 26.2 innings during his first season with the Pirates.

Williams (2-2) allowed two runs on six hits across five innings to take the loss Tuesday against Atlanta. He walked two and struck out eight.

Williams set a new season high with the eight strikeouts, but he got zero run support and was saddled with his second loss in five starts. Other than when he allowed five runs on 10 hits across 3.1 innings back on April 11, the righty has been solid, allowing two or fewer runs in his other four outings. Williams will take a 4.44 ERA into his next scheduled start Sunday against the Reds.

Freeland (shoulder) completed a bullpen session Tuesday and could throw a simulated game early next week, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Manager Bud Black said the bullpen session was "outstanding," so the left-hander appears to be progressing well in his rehab from the shoulder strain. Freeland continues to build up his arm strength, and facing live hitters should be one of the final hurdles before he's cleared for his season debut.

Strasburg (shoulder) has increased his throwing distance to 150 feet, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.

Strasburg continues to make progress and extend his throwing distance as he works his way back from shoulder inflammation. He still has several steps to get through before returning to game action, however, as he's yet to throw off a mound.
