Wheeler (5-3) tossed six scoreless innings Wednesday against the Dodgers, allowing five hits and four walks while fanning six. He earned the win.

Wheeler has tossed two straight scoreless outings and has been pitching lights out of late, as he has given up two or fewer earned runs in seven of his last eight appearances. The right-hander owns an excellent 1.25 ERA across that eight-game span and will look to keep this dominant stretch alive when he takes the ball next week at home against the Nationals.

DeGrom is scheduled to undergo an MRI on his sore right shoulder Thursday, but he said after exiting his start in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Cubs that he's "confident that this is nothing [serious]," Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

In what's becoming a recurring theme, the two-time Cy Young winner once again had another brilliant start cut short due to injury. He struck out eight over three perfect frames and plated a run on a base hit before the shoulder issue resulted in him being pulled in favor of long reliever Sean Reid-Foley. While deGrom expressed frustration about his latest health-related setback, he believes that like the flexor tendinitis and right side tightness he dealt with earlier this season, his shoulder issue is also a minor concern. Tests conducted after Wednesday's game already indicated his throwing shoulder had no decline in strength compared to his left shoulder, leaving deGrom is hopeful that the MRI will reveal no red flags. The right-hander tentatively lines up to make his next start in one of the Mets' doubleheader games versus Atlanta on June 21.

DeSclafani (7-2) earned the win Wednesday against Arizona after giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk while fanning five across five innings.

DeSclafani was coming off his second shutout of the season and while he wasn't able to repeat that performance, he did enough to earn the win -- although he also received great support from the offense. The right-hander has come out on top in each of his last three decisions and owns an excellent, but probably unsustainable, 1.35 ERA and 0.65 WHIP in three starts this month. He's slated to make his next start against the Angels on the road next week.

Kelly (2-7) picked up the loss Wednesday, allowing four runs on four hits and three walks while striking out four over three innings against the Giants.

Kelly was handed a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, then gave it all back and then some in the bottom half of the inning when San Francisco plated four. He needed 47 pitches to get out of the inning and was 85 pitches deep at the time of his removal. Kelly, who hasn't won since Apr. 27, looks to reverse that trend in his next start, which lines up to be Monday at home against the Brewers.

Anderson gave up four runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out five over four innings against the Red Sox on Wednesday. He did not factor in the decision.

Anderson has had a rough time of late, allowing exactly four runs and failing to make it through five innings in three of his past four starts. He didn't serve up any homers Wednesday, but four of the seven hits against him went for doubles, including one to opposing pitcher Garrett Richards that drove in Boston's fourth run. Anderson's recent rough stretch has pushed his season ERA to 3.58 -- it sat at 2.82 through his first nine starts. He'll try to get back on track when he faces the Mets on the road early next week.

Snell allowed seven runs on nine hits and two walks with just one strikeout in 3.1 innings versus Colorado on Wednesday. He did not factor in the decision.

Snell allowed multiple homers for just the second time in 14 starts this year. While long balls haven't been a problem, he allowed multiple walks for the 12th time. The southpaw has now failed to complete five innings in six of his last eight outings. He has a 5.72 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 85:37 K:BB in 61.1 innings overall. Snell's next start is expected to be versus the Dodgers in next week's showdown between NL West powerhouses.

Freeland allowed five runs on nine hits and two walks with three strikeouts in 3.2 innings versus San Diego on Wednesday. He did not factor in the decision.

Freeland turned in another lackluster outing, which saw him allow home runs to Fernando Tatis and Trent Grisham in the third inning. Across his last three starts, Freeland has given up 19 runs (18 earned) in 12.2 innings. The southpaw has a 9.58 ERA, 2.27 WHIP and 12:11 K:BB in 20.2 innings overall after missing almost all of the first two months of the season with a shoulder injury. His next turn in the rotation is projected to be a decent road matchup in Seattle.

Mahle (7-2) allowed a run on three hits and two walks while striking out 12 to earn the win Wednesday over Milwaukee.

Mahle nearly ended up with a no-decision, but Cincinnati took the lead in the top of the seventh before Brad Brach was brought in to relieve the right-hander. Wednesday was Mahle's fifth consecutive win, and it's the first time this year he's racked up double-digit strikeouts. The 26-year-old has a 3.39 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 90:23 K:BB across 74.1 innings. He's projected for a road start in Minnesota next week.

Peralta (6-2) allowed two runs on five hits and struck out six over seven innings, but he took the loss Wednesday versus Cincinnati.

Two of the five hits Peralta allowed were RBI doubles, which accounted for the runs he gave up. The right-hander hasn't allowed more than two runs in a start since May 5, a span of seven straight outings. He has a 2.28 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 104:29 K:BB across 75 innings this year. Peralta lines up for a favorable road start in Arizona next week.

DeGrom was removed from Wednesday's game against the Cubs after three innings with right shoulder soreness, Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record reports.

Sean Reid-Foley entered the game in relief. DeGrom looked his usual, dominant self, requiring 51 pitches to strike out eight hitters in three perfect frames. He also added an RBI single. It's certainly concerning that he's dealing with an injury independent of the elbow issue that shortened his previous start. More details about deGrom's condition and when he will pitch again should become available after the game.
