Nola didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 13-6 win over the Giants, coughing up six runs on six hits and three walks over 2.1 innings. He struck out only one.

Mike Yastrzemski and Brandon Belt both took Nola deep in the worst outing of the year for the right-hander, but the Phillies' offense did more than enough damage to get him off the hook. Nola will carry a 4.22 ERA and 95:21 K:BB through 85.1 innings into his next start.

Manager Dave Roberts said Saturday that Gray has yet to throw a bullpen session as he continues to recover from a shoulder impingement, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Gray has been dealing with the shoulder issue since early May. While Roberts said that the right-hander has resumed playing catch, the fact that he's yet throw off a mound indicates that he's at least a couple weeks away from pitching in a game. The prospect was initially assigned to Triple-A Oklahoma City to begin the season but logged just one outing before hitting the injured list. He'll likely resume his campaign with Oklahoma City when the time comes, but he still figures to have a chance to make his major-league debut during the second half of 2021.

Peterson allowed one run on two hits and a walk across 4.2 innings in the win over Washington in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader. He struck out six and did not factor in the decision.

It wasn't the most efficient outing from Peterson, as the left-hander threw 94 pitches (54 strikes) while failing to get through the fifth inning, ultimately leaving him ineligible to pick up his third win. Nonetheless, his outing was far from disastrous, especially considering that it came in a seven-inning game in which the bullpen needed to work only 2.1 frames. Peterson currently lines up to take the ball for one of the two games in next Friday's doubleheader against the Phillies.

Lucchesi was placed on the 10-day injured list with left elbow inflammation Saturday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Lucchesi was sharp in Friday's start against the Nationals, as he allowed four hits and two walks while striking out five in 5.1 innings. However, he apparently developed an elbow injury during the outing and will miss at least one turn through the rotation as a result. The severity of his injury isn't yet clear, but his move to the injured list makes room on the active roster for Albert Almora (shoulder), who was reinstated from the 10-day IL ahead of Saturday's nightcap.

Wainwright won't start Saturday against Atlanta since the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Saturday's matchup will be made up as part of a doubleheader Sunday. Wainwright will take the mound in Game 1, while Kwang Hyun Kim will start the nightcap, Zachary Silver of MLB.com reports.

Gore pitched 1.1 innings against Triple-A Sugar Land on Friday, allowing six runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out one.

The left-hander got little help from his defense, but that doesn't erase the fact that he gave up three homers and retired only four batters. Gore was thought to have a chance to compete for the fifth-starter job in San Diego coming into the season, but he struggled in spring training and hasn't been particularly effective in his first campaign at the Triple-A level, posting a 5.85 ERA, 1.80 WHIP and 18:12 K:BB across 20 innings. He's still only 22 years old and may just need more time to figure things out, but there is little doubt that Ryan Weathers, not Gore, would be summoned from the minors if San Diego needs to fill a vacancy in its rotation.

Smyly won't pitch Saturday against the Cardinals since the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Saturday's game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Sunday. Smyly will start Game 2 of the twin bill, while Bryse Wilson will take the mound in the matinee.

Strasburg (neck) played catch ahead of Saturday's game against the Mets, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Strasburg threw lightly Wednesday, and he was able to do so again Saturday. The team has been bringing the right-hander along slowly given his recent injury history, and he's expected to meet with a specialist soon, which could help to reveal a better idea of his status.

DeGrom (shoulder) threw a full bullpen session Saturday and still plans to start Monday against Atlanta, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

DeGrom left Wednesday's start due to shoulder soreness after just three innings, but he's thrown on three consecutive days and has felt good after each session. As long as the right-hander isn't sore Sunday, it doesn't appear as though he'll be forced to miss his next turn through the rotation.

Paddack (4-5) earned the win Friday against the Reds after giving up two runs on six hits and a walk while fanning 11 across five innings.

Paddack gave up both of Cincinnati's runs, but he still delivered one of his best performances of the season and recorded a season high in strikeouts. He's now fanned at least six in four straight starts and has gone 2-2 with a 5.06 ERA in that stretch. His next turn on the rotation is slated to come next week at home against the Diamondbacks.
