Gray (4-6) allowed four earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out seven across five innings, earning the win over the Pirates on Thursday.

Gray fired four shutout innings before surrendering four runs in the fifth inning. He allowed five of his six hits all in that frame. However, he still received the run support needed to walk away with the win. The 31-year-old has struggled over his last four starts with a 8.53 ERA in 19 innings. On the season, his ERA has risen to 4.44 and his WHIP is up to 1.40. The righty offers high-strikeout potential with an 11.4 K/9 in 81 innings.

Nola allowed five runs on five hits and three walks over five innings in a no-decision against Washington on Thursday. He also had seven strikeouts.

Nola was sitting on a 2-0 lead through three innings but gave up an RBI single to Carter Kieboom and then hit Tres Barrera with the bases loaded in the fourth. The big blast came on Josh Bell's three-run homer in the fifth, which was the seventh long ball offered up by Nola in his last six starts. The 28-year-old Nola continues to endure an up-and-down campaign, logging a 4.49 ERA and 1.16 WHIP with a 152:28 K:BB in 126.1 innings. He's tentatively scheduled for a home start against the Dodgers next week.

Manager Dave Roberts said he expects Kershaw (forearm) to return sometime in September, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Kershaw has yet to resume throwing after dealing with soreness in his forearm on Aug. 1. The timeline provided by Roberts is hardly precise and gives no indication of when Kershaw may begin ramping back up. On the other hand, it's clear that Kershaw is nowhere near a return to the mound.

Kelly took a no-decision Thursday after tossing eight scoreless innings against the Giants, allowing three hits and two walks with four strikeouts.

Kelly was thoroughly in control, going eight innings for the second time in his last four starts, but the Diamondbacks' bullpen coughed up his 4-0 lead in the ninth. The 32-year-old Kelly won't put a big dent in the strikeouts column -- he's averaging 7.54 K/9 -- but he's provided consistent length for the Diamondbacks and fantasy managers by pitching into the sixth inning or deeper in nine consecutive starts. Six of those outings have been quality starts.

Wood allowed four runs on seven hits and three walks over four innings in a no-decision Thursday against Arizona. He had five strikeouts.

Six of the seven hits allowed by Wood were singles, but the Diamondbacks were still able to put 11 runners on base during the left-hander's four innings of work. Wood has scuffled over his last two starts, surrendering nine runs (eight earned) over 11.1 innings in a pair of no-decisions. For the season, Wood is 9-3 with a 4.03 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in 102.2 innings. He's tentatively lined up to make his next start at home against the same Diamondbacks squad next week.

Senzatela allowed four earned runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out six across 4.2 innings Thursday against the Cubs. He did not factor into the decision.

Senzatela made his first start since July 7 after being activated from the COVID-19 injured list Thursday. He held the Cubs scoreless through four innings but fell apart with two outs in the fifth frame. Immediately prior to being pulled, The right-hander allowed five hits in the span of six batters, including four singles and a double. Senzatela had tossed a quality start in three of his four starts prior to being placed on the injured list, and he will look to return to that form his next turn through the rotation.

Garrett blanked the Mets over five innings during Thursday's win, allowing five hits and four walks while striking out six. He did not factor into the decision.

The 24-year-old, who was recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville ahead of Thursday's start, showed strong command this time around as he stranded each of his runners. Garrett's velocity wasn't at its strongest, with his fastball averaging 89 mph. In his five major league call-ups this season, the southpaw has given up 11 runs over 27.2 innings. Thanks to his successful outing, Garrett should have a chance to remain in the rotation with Trevor Rogers (personal), Pablo Lopez (shoulder) and Cody Poteet (knee) all on the shelf.

Hill allowed one run (unearned) on three hits and a walk while striking out three over five innings during Thursday's loss to the Marlins. He did not factor into the decision.

Rich's only run allowed was unearned due to an error by Michael Conforto. Otherwise, Hill turned in his best outing since being acquired from Tampa Bay. As a Met, the lefty has registered no-decisions in his first three starts, allowing six earned runs over 15 innings thus far. Overall this season, Hill has put together a 3.92 ERA and 1.16 WHIP. The 41-year-old is projected to make his next start at home next week against the Nationals.

Gallen (1-6) was tagged with the loss Wednesday against the Giants after allowing three runs on four hits and three walks while fanning six across 5.2 innings.

Gallen didn't have his best stuff Wednesday but still ended just one out away from recording what would've been his fourth quality start of the campaign. The right-hander has given up three or fewer runs in all but one of his last seven starts and has posted a strong 10.9 K/9 in that span, but he has struggled to pitch deep into games and still owns a poor 5.18 ERA across 33 innings in that stretch.

Gausman was placed on the paternity list Thursday.

Gausman's placement on the paternity list was expected following Wednesday's start in which he allowed an earned run on five hits and no walks while striking out eight in six innings to return to the win column for the first time since July 11. The 30-year-old will be away from the team for several days but should be ready for his next outing, and he tentatively lines up to start at home against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
