Cecconi was placed on the 60-day injured list with High-A Hillsboro on Thursday with an undisclosed injury.

Given that there's only a month left in the minor-league season, this means Cecconi is done for the year. There is no official injury designation at the moment, but this seems pretty ominous. Cecconi seemed to be rounding into form after an up and down start to the season, logging a 2.08 ERA, 0.69 WHIP and 16:1 K:BB in 13 innings over his two most recent starts. He ends his first pro season with a 4.12 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 63:20 K:BB in 59 innings (12 starts).

Gibson (8-3) earned the win Friday against the Phillies after tossing six innings of one-run ball, allowing four hits and four walks while fanning three.

Gibson's command wasn't entirely sharp in this one, as the four walks represent his second-worst mark of the season in that category, but that seems to be an issue with him of late. Through his last three starts, the veteran right-hander has posted a 12:14 K:BB across 18.2 innings. However, he still holds a 2.41 ERA in that span after allowing not more than two earned runs in each of those contests.

Stroman (7-11) was tagged with the loss Friday against the Phillies after allowing two runs on five hits and a walk while fanning five across five innings.

Stroman had a decent outing but it wasn't enough to outduel Kyle Gibson, and as a result, he's now dropped three starts in a row. In fact, the former Blue Jays hurler has gone 1-4 over his last five appearances despite allowing two or fewer runs in four of those games. He owns a 3.14 ERA during that stretch.

Anderson was placed on the 10-day injured list with right triceps tendinitis Saturday, retroactive to Aug. 5.

Anderson had a rough outing against the Nationals on Wednesday and allowed three home runs in four innings, and he'll miss at least one turn through the rotation after he was diagnosed with a triceps injury. The Phillies will be able to skip his scheduled start early next week since the team has a day off Monday, but they haven't announced who will take his place in the rotation if he misses more than the minimum of 10 days.

Suarez is scheduled to start Saturday's game against the Mets, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

The Phillies have varied Suarez's role this season, but the club appears committed to trying him out as a starter at this point. In his first start of season Monday, Suarez blanked the Nationals over three no-hit innings, allowing only one baserunner on the day. Because he's still building up after recently transitioning from the bullpen, Suarez is expected to be capped at around 60 pitches Saturday. Even if he pitches well, Suarez could be hard pressed to come away with the win if he's able to work only four or five frames.

Freeland (foot) is slated to start Sunday's game against the Marlins, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Freeland exited early in his most recent start Tuesday against the Cubs after taking a line drive off his left foot, but he avoided any structural damage and escaped with little more than a bruise. According to Danielle Allentuck of The Denver Gazette, Freeland threw a side session Friday without issue, so the lefty shouldn't face any limitations in his return to action this weekend.

Luzardo is scheduled to start Saturday's game against the Rockies.

Luzardo wasn't overly impressive in his Miami debut Monday, but he was able to capture the win while limiting the Mets to three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out five across five innings. The 23-year-old southpaw should get a long look in the Miami rotation over the final two months of the season as he looks to solidify a starting role for the big club heading into 2022.

Miley (9-4) picked up the win in Friday's 10-0 rout of the Pirates, allowing six hits and two walks over seven scoreless innings. He struck out five.

The veteran southpaw got staked to a 7-0 lead after one inning, but Miley made sure Pittsburgh wouldn't get up off the mat. He hasn't lost a game since May 19, and Friday's quality start was his fifth in six outings since the beginning of July, a stretch during which he's posted a 2.06 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 24:16 K:BB through 39.1 innings.

Brubaker (4-11) took the loss Friday, coughing up nine runs (eight earned) on seven hits and four walks over five innings as the Pirates were routed 10-0 by the Reds. He struck out five.

The right-hander had no margin for error on another quiet night for the Bucs' offense, but Brubaker removed any suspense from the game by surrendering seven runs in the bottom of the first inning. He's been tagged for at least five runs in three of six starts since the beginning of July while serving up 10 homers in only 29.2 innings over that stretch, and his 7.89 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in that time should have him far away from most active fantasy rosters.

Hendricks allowed two runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out seven in six innings in Friday's loss to the White Sox. He didn't factor into the decision.

Hendricks has now recorded six quality starts in his last seven outings, and he ranks second in the majors with 17 quality starts in 2021. The only runs he allowed Friday came when he allowed four singles in the fourth inning, but he was forced to settle for the no-decision in the low-scoring game. The right-hander tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Brewers on Wednesday.
