Marquez (10-8) allowed two hits and a walk over six shutout innings Friday, striking out seven and earning a win over the Marlins.

Marquez needed just 76 pitches to cruise through six scoreless innings in Friday's win. He likely would've gone deeper in the game if the Rockies weren't already up 11-0 after the fifth. It was Marquez's fourth scoreless appearance of the season and the third in his last seven outings. The All-Star righty lowered his ERA to 3.42 alongside a 141:49 K:BB through 136.2 frames. He's projected to take the mound in San Francisco next week.

Alcantara (6-10) yielded 10 runs on 10 hits and two walks over 3.2 innings Friday, striking out one and taking a loss against the Rockies.

Through three innings, the Rockies scored just two runs off Alcantara, including a solo shot by C.J. Cron in the second inning. Then a disastrous fourth inning came. The 6-foot-5 righty was hammered for eight runs, including homers by Charlie Blackmon and Cron before he was forced out of the game. His season ERA jumped from 3.12 to 3.70 through 136.1 innings. Alcantara is lined up to face the Padres in San Diego next week.

Webb allowed a run on three hits and a walk with nine strikeouts in six innings, taking a no-decision versus Milwaukee on Friday.

The right-hander was every bit as good as Milwaukee ace Corbin Burnes in this contest, as both pitchers' lone runs allowed came on solo home runs. Webb has posted three straight quality starts, but he has just one win to show for it in that span. He owns a 3.19 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 82:24 K:BB through 79 innings this year. Webb is projected to make his next start at home versus Colorado next week.

Burnes allowed one run on four hits and a walk with five strikeouts in seven innings Friday, taking a no-decision versus San Francisco.

The right-hander had a lackluster outing last Friday, but he bounced back in a big way versus the team with the best record in the majors. The only run on Burnes' line was a Brandon Belt solo home run in the sixth inning. Burnes has given up one run or fewer in six of his last seven starts, lowering his ERA to 2.39 with a 0.96 WHIP and 157:21 K:BB through 113 innings overall. He'll look to keep rolling next week versus the Cubs.

Wainwright (10-6) allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks over seven innings Friday, striking out six and earning a win over the Royals.

Wainwright cruised through five scoreless innings to begin Friday's game, giving up just three hits in the process. Kansas City finally got to him in the sixth, scoring two runs on four hits in the frame, including Ryan O'Hearn's RBI triple. The veteran righty has tossed at least seven innings while giving up three or fewer runs in four straight outings, lowering his season ERA to 3.48 through 139.2 innings. Wainwright is lined up to face the Royals on the road next week.

Muller allowed three runs on two hits, two walks and a hit batter while striking out three in 4.2 innings versus Washington on Friday. He did not factor in the decision.

In addition to the hit batter, Muller also threw three wild pitches in a game where he didn't have the sharpest control. He was spared the loss when Atlanta rallied in the bottom of the fifth inning. The southpaw has given up more than two runs in only two of his eight big-league appearances (seven starts) this year. He owns a 2.88 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 36:17 K:BB across 34.1 innings. Muller lines up for his next start versus Cincinnati next week.

Lopez (shoulder) will throw a 20-pitch bullpen session Saturday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Lopez had increased his throwing distance off flat ground recently, and is now ready to resume mound work. The right-hander has been on the 10-day IL since July 17 due to a right rotator cuff strain, but he's made good progress recently and will presumably be re-evaluated following Saturday's throwing session.

Kershaw is still experiencing soreness in his forearm, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Kershaw's scans have continued to come back clean, and the Dodgers are optimistic that he'll be able to play catch in the coming days. The southpaw has been on the injured list with left forearm inflammation since July 7 and had initially started a throwing program, but he's stopped throwing recently due to his soreness. However, manager Dave Roberts is still hoping Kershaw will be able to return from the injured list in early September.

Houser was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Friday after testing positive for the virus, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Houser began feeling symptoms earlier Friday before the positive test came in. The right-hander is the ninth Milwaukee player to be placed on the COVID-19 list in the past 11 days. He'll now quarantine for a minimum of 10 days before he's able to rejoin the team, meaning he'll likely miss at least two turns through the rotation.

Toussaint got a no-decision in Thursday's 8-4 win over St. Louis, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts in 5.1 innings.

Making his fourth start of the season, Toussaint was adequate in limiting St. Louis' bats until Atlanta broke out with a six-run eighth. The 25-year-old allowed two runs on four baserunners in the third and another run came across in the sixth on a passed ball. It was a nice rebound from a poor outing against Milwaukee last time out. Toussaint has now permitted two runs or fewer in three of four starts.
