Gray was removed from Saturday's game against the Dodgers during the third inning with an apparent injury, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Gray appeared to be in pain when he left the field with an athletic trainer with the unspecified issue. The right-hander gave up a run on two hits with three walks and two strikeouts over two innings before departing the contest. The team has yet to officially announce an injury, and it's unclear whether the issue will affect his next turn through the rotation.

Stroman allowed two runs on seven hits and one walk with five strikeouts through six innings, taking a no-decision in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Nationals.

Stroman loaded the bases in the first and allowed two runs to score in the second before settling in to allow just two singles in the remaining four innings of his outing. The effort was enough to extend his quality start streak to three appearances. Hopefully this bodes well for his next start, which is tentatively slated to be against these same Nationals on Friday.

Houser (7-6) allowed five runs on five hits and three walks with four strikeouts through five innings, taking the loss in Saturday's 6-4 defeat to the Twins.

This was a perplexing outing for Houser. Through three innings, the right-hander was working on a no-hitter. In the fourth, the Twins sent 10 men to the plate and scored four times, as Houser gave up three hits, three walks and hit a batter. The 28-year-old followed that clunker of an inning up with a three-pitch frame in the fifth, retiring Jorge Polanco, Josh Donaldson and Max Kepler on back-to-back-to-back offerings. Regardless of the oddities associated with this start, the five runs are a letdown, as Houser entered play having allowed just one earned run in his last 16.2 innings.

Small (finger) was activated off the 7-day injured list and started for Triple-A Nashville on Saturday, Sounds broadcaster Jeff Hem reports.

Small delivered two scoreless frames in his first start since July 6 after being on the injured list with a strained tendon in his left middle finger. The 24-year-old made one rehab appearance with the rookie-level affiliate Tuesday and is now back with Nashville to close out the Triple-A season. He has a 1.77 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 73:30 K:BB over 56 innings between Double-A and Triple-A this year.

DeSclafani (ankle) will return from the injured list to start Sunday against Atlanta, Amy Gutierrez of the Giants' official site reports.

DeSclafani exited his start against the Mets back on Aug. 18 with right ankle inflammation, but the injury evidently wasn't a major one. He'll be ready to go without a rehab assignment, having missed just a single turn in the rotation.

Paddack (oblique) will throw a bullpen session Saturday and will likely start Monday or Tuesday against the Diamondbacks, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Paddack threw a bullpen session early in the week, and he tossed a bullpen in full uniform ahead of Saturday's series finale against the Angels. The Padres haven't yet made an official announcement regarding the right-hander's status, but he'll likely be cleared to return early next week after he missed just over a month due to a left oblique strain.

Kershaw (forearm) is expected to throw an extended bullpen session or face hitters next week, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Kershaw threw a bullpen session Friday, and pitching coach Mark Prior called the throwing session "a good step forward." The southpaw played catch with a sleeve on his left arm, and he's expected to increase his intensity next week.

Gonsolin (shoulder) will throw a simulated game Monday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Gonsolin has been out for just shy of a month while dealing with shoulder inflammation. He's taking steps in the right direction, though he's only expected to throw two innings Monday, so he still has plenty of work to do before being activated from the injured list assuming the Dodgers want to get him back as a traditional starter.

Mejia is scheduled to start Saturday's game against the Phillies.

He'll be awarded a second straight turn through the rotation after he limited the Pirates to two runs while striking out seven over five innings in his Arizona debut Monday. The 24-year-old right-hander might not have much longevity in the rotation with Arizona expected to get Luke Weaver (shoulder) back from the 60-day injured list and Merrill Kelly (illness) back from the COVID-19-related injured list within the next couple of weeks.

Ashby is listed as the starter for Sunday's game against the Twins, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

Ashby was recalled by the Brewers last weekend, and he allowed two hits and a walk while striking out four in two scoreless innings against the Nationals on Sunday. He has a 4.15 ERA in 8.2 innings this year and is in line to make his fourth start of the season in Sunday's series finale at Target Field.
