Burnes (9-4) allowed one earned run on four hits while striking out nine across six innings, earning the win over the Giants on Monday.

Burnes fired six shutout innings before allowing a leadoff double in the seventh inning. Brad Boxberger relieved him and the runner that Burnes was responsible for scored. This was his fourth quality start in his last five outings and he has not taken a loss since May 25. The 26-year-old has a 2.27 ERA and 0.94 WHIP in 139 innings this season and leads all of baseball with a 12.2 K/9 and 7.3 K/BB.

Urias (15-3) won Monday's 5-3 match against Atlanta, allowing two runs on four hits with seven strikeouts in six innings.

Urias was staked to a 5-0 lead and was dominant early, surrendering only two baserunners through his first five innings, but he served up two solo shots in the sixth. Despite a few threats, Los Angeles was able to preserve the lefty's MLB-leading 15th victory. Urias concludes August with a sparkling 1.38 ERA in 26 innings across five starts.

Castillo (7-14) allowed three runs on five hits and two walks over six innings Monday, striking out eight and taking a loss against the Cardinals.

Castillo got off to a rough start, giving up a two-run shot to Paul Goldschmidt in the first inning. He managed to keep the Cardinals off the board over the next four innings before Tyler O'Neill poked an RBI single in the sixth. He's been hit with a loss in four of his last five outings with a 5.22 ERA during that span. Castillo will carry a 4.30 ERA into this weekend's projected home start against the Tigers.

Paddack (oblique) was activated from the 10-day injured list before Monday's start against the Diamondbacks.

A left oblique strain had kept Paddack on the shelf since late July, but he's back to face the Diamondbacks, who have shelled him for eight earned runs in 7.2 innings this season. Having not gone on a rehab assignment, the righty will likely be working with a pitch limit Monday, though it's unclear what that number is.

Gonsolin (shoulder) threw a simulated game Monday and is expected to report to a minor-league affiliate for a three-inning rehab start soon, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Monday's simulated game was apparently a success, as he's now on the cusp of a rehab assignment. Gonsolin has been on the injured list for about a month with right shoulder inflammation, so he'll likely need at least a couple starts in the minors before rejoining the Dodgers.

Cueto didn't test positive for COVID-19 despite being placed on the COVID-19 injured list Monday, but he's feeling under the weather due to cold and flu-like symptoms, Dieter Kurtenbach of San Jose Mercury News reports.

Assuming he doesn't produce a positive result in additional tests in the next 24 hours, Cueto should be cleared to rejoin the Giants as soon as his symptoms dissipate. Manager Gabe Kapler said the righty could start Tuesday's game against the Brewers if he's feeling better, so an update on that front should come in the hours leading up to that game's 9:45 p.m. ET opening pitch.

Wood was placed on the injured list Monday due to a positive COVID-19 test and symptoms of the virus, Dieter Kurtenbach of San Jose Mercury News reports.

How long the lefty must be sidelined depends on whether he's vaccinated, a detail that hasn't yet been disclosed. If unvaccinated, Wood will miss at least 10 days and thus no fewer than two starts. More updates on his symptoms and expected return date should become available in the next few days.

Kershaw has missed nearly two months while battling forearm inflammation, but he's trending in the right direction and seemingly has time to return before the end of the year. He still has plenty of work to do to build up to a starter's workload, however, so he's likely multiple weeks away from being activated.
