Morton pitched 3.1 innings and didn't factor in the decision during the Game 4 victory over the Brewers in the NLDS on Tuesday. He gave up two runs on four hits with five strikeouts and one walk.

The right-hander was never likely to pitch deep in Tuesday's contest while on short rest, and he was pulled during the fourth inning after giving up one run on two hits and a walk. Jesse Chavez then entered in relief and allowed another of Morton's baserunners to score. Max Fried figures to start Game 1 of the NLCS on Saturday, while Ian Anderson and Morton (on regular rest) will be in the mix to pitch Sunday in Game 2.

Burnes will not be available in relief Tuesday for Game 4 of the NLDS against Atlanta, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.

While Atlanta and the Dodgers are turning to Charlie Morton and Walker Buehler, respectively, on short rest, Milwaukee will opt to save Burnes for a potential Game 5 at home Thursday. The Brewers reportedly evaluated Burnes to see if he was ready to go for Game 4, but manager Craig Counsell said his ace was not ready to go on short rest.

Buehler will start Game 4 of the NLDS on Tuesday against the Giants on short rest, Alden Gonzalez of ESPN reports.

The Dodgers face a must-win game Tuesday with the Giants up 2-1 in the series. Tony Gonsolin is expected to pitch in relief, especially if Buehler is unable to provide his normal length on short rest.

Lauer will start Game 4 of the NLDS on Tuesday against Atlanta.

This will be Lauer's postseason debut. He gave up five runs in five innings against the Dodgers on Oct. 1 -- his last appearance -- but he logged a 1.15 ERA, 0.70 WHIP and 32:8 K:BB in 31.1 innings over his five starts prior to that final outing. With this being a must-win game for Milwaukee, manager Craig Counsell will likely turn to his bullpen at the first sign of trouble, and Lauer almost certainly won't face any hitters more than twice.

Morton is starting Tuesday's Game 4 of the NLDS against the Brewers on short rest.

Atlanta is going for the kill in what could be a pivotal Game 4, as the Brewers are saving Corbin Burnes for a potential Game 5 in Milwaukee. Huascar Ynoa could piggyback Morton if he can't log a full starter's workload.

Houser (1-1) gave up three runs on three hits and one walk in one inning Monday in Game 3 of the NLDS against Atlanta. He took the loss and did not record a strikeout.

The only three runs of the entire game came off Houser in the fifth inning. Starter Freddy Peralta was pulled early with the Brewers threatening in the top of the fifth and in need of a pinch hitter, but that scoring threat was dashed and the downgrade to Houser turned out to be devastating. It seems highly unlikely that he will be called upon again in a high-leverage situation this series, as he has now given up four runs in three innings in what has been a very low-scoring series.

Wood fired 4.2 scoreless frames in Game 3 of the NLDS on Monday. He allowed two hits and two walks while striking out four.

Wood didn't factor into the decision, as he was pulled midway through the fifth inning, but it was a stellar showing for the veteran southpaw. The Giants now have a 2-1 series lead, and Wood could work in a similar twice-through-the-order role if the team advances to the NLCS.

Anderson (1-0) allowed three hits and struck out six over five scoreless innings, picking up the win in Game 3 of the NLDS against Milwaukee on Monday.

Anderson had his changeup working early, blanking a scuffling Milwaukee offense through five frames. Much like the Brewers did in the top half of the fifth inning, Atlanta removed Anderson in favor of a pinch hitter, only this time it paid off, as Joc Pederson smashed a three-run bomb over the wall in right field. It would seem unlikely that Anderson pitches again in the NLDS, but he would be a strong candidate to earn a start in the NLCS, should his team advance.

Peralta allowed three hits and one walk while striking out five over four scoreless innings in Game 3 of the NLDS against the Braves. He didn't factor into the decision.

Peralta appeared locked in from the start in this one, needing only 57 pitches to get through four innings of work. Unfortunately for him, the Brewers' offense has been so stagnant of late that manager Craig Counsell removed him for a pinch hitter in what appeared to be a golden run-scoring opportunity during the fifth inning, ending Peralta's day. Monday marked the first postseason appearance of 2021 for the right-hander, and it could be his last if Milwaukee is unable to dig out of a 2-1 hole in the NLDS.

DeSclafani could start Game 4 of the NLDS against the Dodgers on Tuesday, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Manager Gabe Kapler noted that DeSclafani will be available out of the bullpen for Game 3, but he also added the right-hander is a "great option" to start Game 4, per Crowley. The Dodgers have also elected to hold off on naming a starter for Game 4, likely waiting to see how Game 3 unfolds.
