The Rockies recalled Feltner from Triple-A Albuquerque ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday against the Phillies in Philadelphia.

Lefty reliever Lucas Gilbreath was sent to Triple-A to clear a spot on the 28-man active roster for Feltner, who previously made a pair of spot starts for the Rockies late in the 2021 season. The 25-year-old right-hander was unable to secure a spot in the Rockies' Opening Day rotation, but he didn't have to wait long to receive a call-up after a recent doubleheader created the need for Colorado to temporarily break in a sixth starter. Feltner should be sufficiently stretched out after covering at least five innings in each of his four Triple-A starts, but he'll likely be sent back to Albuquerque shortly after Wednesday's outing.

Reds manager David Bell said Tuesday that Castillo (shoulder) will require two more rehab starts in the minors before returning from the 10-day injured list, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Castillo made his first rehab appearance Sunday with High-A Dayton, giving up an earned run on two hits and three walks while striking out four over 2.1 innings. After Castillo tossed 48 pitches in that outing, the Reds are targeting 60-to-65 pitches or four innings for him in his second rehab start, which will come Friday with Triple-A Louisville, according to Nightengale. Assuming he remains on a normal four days' rest schedule following his second and third rehab starts, Castillo would tentatively line up to make his season debut with the big club May 9 versus the Brewers in Cincinnati.

Clevinger (knee) made the third start of his minor-league rehab assignment Wednesday with Triple-A El Paso, working 3.2 innings while giving up one earned run on four hits and one walk while striking out five.

Clevinger built up to 67 pitches (45 strikes) Wednesday and continues to show excellent efficiency as he draws closer to making his 2022 debut for the Padres. Though Clevinger missed the entire 2021 season while recovering from his November 2020 Tommy John surgery, it's a sprained right knee that prevented him from breaking camp as a member of the Padres' Opening Day rotation. The Padres may want to see Clevinger reach the 80-pitch mark during his rehab assignment before activating him from the 10-day injured list, so he could be in store for one more start with El Paso.

Marlins manager Don Mattingly said Tuesday that Sanchez (shoulder) has resumed playing catch from 45 feet out, Byron Kerr of MLB.com reports.

The ability to play light catch marks a major step forward for Sanchez, who hadn't been cleared for any throwing after reporting to spring training in early March while he continued his recovery the shoulder surgery he underwent last July. Given the multiple arm-related setbacks he's endured over the past two seasons, Sanchez is likely to be brought along slowly in his throwing program, so he could be several weeks away from getting back on the mound for a bullpen session. Even if he avoids any further complications during his buildup program, Sanchez likely won't be fully ramped up and ready to handle a starter's workload until the middle of the summer.

Urena gave up three runs -- one earned -- over 2.1 innings of relief in Tuesday's victory over the Pirates. He allowed four hits, walked a batter and struck out none.

Urena had a shot to record a three-inning save Tuesday, but the Pirates put the tying run on deck in the ninth inning, and Josh Hader was summoned to close the door. Urena has tossed an inning-plus in three of his four appearances and owns a respectable 3.52 ERA, but he also has posted a 3:5 K:BB. Expect him to continue working in middle-to-long relief for the Brewers.

Bassitt (3-1) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing two hits and three walks over six scoreless innings in a 3-0 victory over the Cardinals. He struck out six.

It wasn't the most efficient outing for Bassitt, as he hit a batter and left after throwing only 55 of 94 pitches for strikes, but he kept St. Louis off the board with some timely strikeouts and solid defense behind him. The 33-year-old has fanned at least six batters in all four of his starts this season, and his current 28.0 percent strikeout rate would be a career-best performance, as would Bassitt's 2.25 ERA and 0.92 WHIP.

Fried (2-2) picked up the win in Tuesday's 3-1 victory over the Cubs, allowing one run on four hits over six innings. He struck out four without walking a batter.

It wasn't a dominant performance by the southpaw but it was an effective one, as Fried tossed 61 of 89 pitches for strikes in his second straight quality start. After a rough first start of the year, the year the 28-year-old has already righted the ship, and through four outings and 24 innings, Fried sports a 3.00 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 21:1 K:BB.

Gray (2-2) took the loss Tuesday as the Nationals were downed 5-2 by the Marlins, giving up four runs on seven hits and three walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out 10.

The 10 whiffs tied his career high and Gray fired 66 of his 98 pitches for strikes, but his command within the zone left something to be desired as he got hit hard, with Joey Wendle's three-run shot in the fourth inning proving to be the difference in the game. Gray's 32.9 percent strikeout rate through 20 innings this season is definitely encouraging, but it comes with an 11.8 percent walk rate fueling his 4.05 ERA and 1.45 WHIP.

Alcantara (2-0) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing one run on six hits and three walks over six innings in a 5-2 victory over the Nationals. He struck out five.

The right-hander delivered his third straight quality start, tossing 58 of 96 pitches for strikes while cruising to a win. Alcantara hasn't kept up the strikeout gains he made last season, posting a 20.2 percent strikeout rate through his first 25.1 innings, but it hasn't hurt his ratios as he sports a 1.78 ERA and 1.18 WHIP.

Rodon (3-0) registered the win during Tuesday's 8-2 victory over Oakland, allowing one run on three hits and two walks with nine strikeouts in six innings.

Rodon brought his top-tier stuff for the fourth time in as many games this season and cruised to an easy victory following six strong innings. The first-year-Giant has now struck out at least eight batters while allowing no more than one run in all four starts this season and ranks among the league leaders in most major pitching categories, with his 38 strikeouts leading second-place Corbin Burnes by five.
