Manager David Bell said Sunday that Lodolo (back) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session in a few days, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Though Lodolo still looks to be multiple weeks away from coming off the 10-day injured list, his advancement to mound work represents a step forward in his recovery from a lower-back strain. Before landing on the shelf April 28, Lodolo posted a 5.52 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 19:5 K:BB in 14.2 innings over his first three MLB starts.

Alcantara (5-1) picked up the win in Saturday's 4-1 victory over Atlanta, allowing one run on four hits over eight innings. He struck out 14 without walking a batter.

It was another dominant performance from the right-hander, who tied his career high with the 14 whiffs. Alcantara fired 73 of 108 pitches for strikes as he reeled off his fourth straight quality start and seventh of the season. The hot streak has left him with a dazzling 2.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 63:22 K:BB through an MLB-leading 67.2 innings.

Adon didn't factor into the decision in a 3-2 loss to the Rockies during the second game of Saturday's doubleheader, allowing two unearned runs on six hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out three.

The quality start was only the second of the season in 10 trips to the mound for Adon, who tossed 62 of 89 pitches for strikes before exiting. A setback for Joe Ross (elbow) might have bought Adon some more time in the Nationals' rotation, but the rookie will need to improve significantly on his 6.08 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 38:29 K:BB through 47.1 innings to keep it.

Gomber (2-5) took the loss in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Nationals, coughing up eight runs on seven hits and three walks over 1.1 innings. He struck out one.

The southpaw just didn't have it Saturday, needing 59 pitches (33 strikes) to record only four outs, but Gomber at least didn't give up much hard contact as just one of the seven hits off him went for extra bases. Despite posting quality starts in five of his prior six outings, this poor showing leaves him with a 5.51 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 35:16 K:BB through 47.1 innings on the season.

Kelly (3-3) was tagged with the loss against the Dodgers on Saturday, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out five over five innings.

Kelly gave up a leadoff homer to Mookie Betts in the first inning but bounced back by keeping the Dodgers from scoring again until the fifth, when Los Angeles tagged him for a pair of runs. That was enough to send Kelly to the loss, as Arizona managed only two second-inning runs in the contest. The right-hander has given up three or fewer runs in nine of 10 outings this season, but an eight-run blowup against the Dodgers on May 17 has his ERA at 3.67 on the campaign. He's expected to make his next start in Pittsburgh on Friday.

Musgrove registered a no-decision during Saturday's 4-2 loss to Pittsburgh, allowing one run on six hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in six innings.

Musgrove cruised through every inning except the third and fourth, when he escaped a bases-loaded jam in the third and permitted his lone run in the fourth. Unfortunately, Taylor Rogers blew the save in the ninth as San Diego lost a game Musgrove started for the first time all season. The 29-year-old carries a dazzling 1.86 ERA and 0.98 WHIP -- both of which rank top 10 in MLB -- into a start against Milwaukee next weekend.

Gonsolin (5-0) earned the win over Arizona on Saturday, pitching six innings and allowing two runs on four hits and no walks while striking out seven batters.

Gonsolin gave up a pair of second-inning runs but nothing else and got just enough help from his offense to keep his record perfect at 5-0. The right-hander struck out exactly seven batters for the third straight game and has tossed exactly six innings in each contest during that span. Gonsolin has yet to allow more than two runs in an outing this season, leading to a sparkling 1.80 ERA over 45 innings. He's already earned a career-best five wins this season, and he'll look to keep rolling in his next start, which is expected to come at home against the Mets on Thursday.

Eflin (1-4) took the loss against the Mets on Saturday, hurling six innings and allowing seven runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out four.

Eflin surrendered only one run over his first three innings of work, but he was tagged for a three-run homer by Jeff McNeil in the fourth frame and departed after the sixth having yielded a season-worst seven runs. The left-hander racked up 12 strikeouts in his previous start but came back down to earth with only four punchouts -- which is more in line with his season average -- Saturday. Eflin will carry a 4.60 ERA into his next start, which is slated to come at home against the Angels next weekend.

Bruabaker didn't factor into the decision during Saturday's 4-2 victory over San Diego, allowing one unearned run on six hits and two walks with three strikeouts in five innings.

Brubaker dealt with runners on base in each of his five innings but was able to navigate them unscathed other than an error that led to a run in the second. Despite remaining winless, the 28-year-old has pitched to a 3.57 ERA over his last eight starts while recording 47 strikeouts in 40.1 innings. He'll carry a 4.15 ERA and 1.38 WHIP into a start against Arizona next weekend.

Walker (3-0) earned the victory over Philadelphia on Saturday, pitching five innings and allowing two runs on six hits and three walks while striking out one batter.

Walker dealt with plenty of traffic on the basepaths in the outing -- he retired the side in order in only one frame. However, he kept the score under control and departed after the fifth inning with New York staked to a five-run lead. Walker recorded only six swinging strikes and notched only one strikeout for the third time this season, so he was far from dominant, but he got the job done to run his record to 3-0 on the campaign. His 19:12 K:BB across 35 innings is far from ideal, but Walker will carry a solid 2.83 ERA into his next start, which is scheduled to be a tough matchup in Los Angeles against the Dodgers on Thursday.
