The Mets called Peterson up from Triple-A Syracuse in advance of his start in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader in Philadelphia, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Peterson has been quite effective for the Mets this season, striking out 27.2 percent of opposing batters en route to a 3.30 ERA in 14 starts and four relief appearances. He hasn't been needed in the rotation since Jacob deGrom returned from a shoulder injury, but he remains the top name the Mets will turn to whenever they need a spot start.

Nola (8-10) took the loss Friday, giving up five runs on eight hits and a walk over five innings as the Phillies fell 7-2 to the Mets. He struck out nine.

The strikeouts salvaged some fantasy value for Nola, but the right-hander saw his quality start streak end at three as the Mets hit him hard, with half of the eight hits off Nola going for extra bases including a Pete Alonso two-run blast in the third inning. Since the beginning of July, Nola's fate has been determined by whether he can keep the ball in the park. In the five outings during which he didn't serve up a homer, he has five quality starts with a 1.50 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 34:6 K:BB through 36 innings. In the three starts in which he was taken deep, he stumbled to a 7.50 ERA and 1.33 WHIP despite a 23:2 K:BB through 18 frames.

Bassitt (11-7) picked up the win in Friday's 7-2 victory over the Phillies, allowing two runs on seven hits over six innings. He struck out four without walking a batter.

The Mets handed the right-hander a 4-0 lead through three innings, giving Bassitt all the cushion he would need. The quality start was his 15th of the season and third in four August outings. Friday's earned runs were actually the first he's given up this month, leaving Bassitt with a 0.69 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 21:4 K:BB through 26 innings during that stretch.

Ashby didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 8-7 loss to the Cubs, surrendering six runs on eight hits over five innings. He struck out eight without walking a batter.

The southpaw didn't issue a walk in a start of five innings or longer for the first time since June 4, but he did issue two wild pitches and Ashby couldn't keep runners from crossing the plate when they did reach base. In five outings since the All-Star break, he's posted a 4.61 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 33:11 K:BB through 27.1 innings, but he's still looking for his first win since July 8.

Wright (15-5) earned the win against the Astros on Friday, allowing two runs on six hits while striking out seven and walking one over six innings.

Wright continued his breakout season Friday, throwing 61 of 84 pitches for strikes and striking out seven Astros batters, which is impressive considering the Astros have the second fewest strikeouts in the league. The righty turned in his sixth quality start in his last seven games. He will take a 3.14 ERA into his next appearance.

Wood (8-10) gave up seven earned runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three over 4.2 innings to take the loss in a 7-4 defeat against the Rockies on Friday.

Wood was pounded for seven runs in his road start at Coors Field to take his 10th loss of the season. Most the damage came on a pair of home runs by rookie Elehuris Montero, who picked up five RBI on the night. The three long balls that Wood surrendered were the most that he had given up in a game all season. Wood's 1.22 WHIP is right in line with his career average and he will look to bounce back from his worst start of the year his next time out in what is tentatively expected to be a road matchup against the Twins.

Urena (2-4) gave up three earned runs on three hits and two walks while striking out three over 6.2 innings to earn the win in a 7-4 victory over the Giants on Friday.

Urena tied his longest appearance of the season in a quality start which earned him his second win. Urena has not issued less than two walks in any start since being acquired by the Rockies at the beginning of July, and he does not make up for his control problems with strikeout stuff. The 30-year-old sinkerballer came into the game with a terrible walk rate of 4.6 BB/9 to go along with a 4.8 K/9. He is expected to make his next start at home versus Texas.

Snell allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out seven in five innings Friday, taking a no-decision versus the Nationals.

Snell hadn't allowed multiple runs in any of his five previous starts and only once in his last eight, but the Nationals got to him in the fourth and fifth innings in this contest. The southpaw has struck out at least seven in five straight outings. For the season, he's posted a 3.76 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 112:38 K:BB across 83.2 innings through 16 starts. Snell is lined up for a favorable road start in Kansas City next week.

Luzardo allowed a run on four hits and two walks while striking out seven over 6.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Friday.

Two of Luzardo's four starts in August have been quality ones, with Friday's effort arguably one of his best all year given the opponent. He was charged with one run in the seventh inning, surrendered by Steven Okert after Luzardo left the contest with one on and one out. The 24-year-old southpaw has pitched to a 3.44 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 65:21 K:BB through 52.1 innings across 10 starts this year.

Anderson allowed a run on five hits and three walks while striking out six over seven innings in a no-decision versus the Marlins on Friday.

Anderson got through six innings without much trouble but lacked run support. He allowed one run in the seventh and left with the game tied, making this just the second time all year he's gone two consecutive starts without a win. The southpaw has yielded 10 runs (eight earned) through 38 innings across his last six starts. For the season, he owns a 2.73 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 107:28 K:BB through 135.1 innings across 23 starts. He remains at 13-2 heading into his next start.
