Webb (13-8) earned the win Saturday, allowing two runs on six hits over seven innings against the Cubs. He struck out six and did not issue a walk.

Webb turned in a couple clunkers early in the second half, but he's returned to form, posting a 1.75 ERA in his last six starts. The 25-year-old is tied for sixth in the National League with 13 wins, and his 2.88 ERA for the season ranks sixth among qualified starters in the NL. Webb lines up for a home start against the Dodgers next week.

Houser (6-9) allowed a run on a hit and two walks over six innings, earning the win Saturday versus the Reds. He did not strike out a batter.

Houser amassed just three whiffs on 82 pitches, instead pitching effectively to contact. The lone run against him was on a TJ Friedl sacrifice fly in the third inning. Houser has looked better after a brief stint in the bullpen -- he's allowed four runs (two earned) over 11 innings in his last two appearances, both starts. He has a 4.61 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 65:39 K:BB through 91.2 innings across 19 outings (18 starts this year. The right-hander is projected for a home start versus the Yankees next weekend, and his rotation spot should be fairly safe with Eric Lauer (elbow) and Freddy Peralta (shoulder) on the injured list.

Lauer was placed on the 15-day injured list with left elbow inflammation Saturday.

The injury forced Lauer to exit his previous start Wednesday against the Rockies after giving up seven runs and recording just eight outs. He received "very encouraging" MRI results the next day according to manager Craig Counsell, but he'll nonetheless miss at least his next two turns in the rotation. Whether or not he has a chance to return when first eligible Sep. 23 remains to be seen. Trevor Kelley was recalled to take his place on the roster.

Ashby (shoulder) will throw off a mound Sunday or Monday but is not being stretched out to start, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Ashby hit the injured list with shoulder inflammation in late August. While he's making progress towards a return to action, he wouldn't have time to make many appearances if he had to go through a full build-up process as a starter. Instead, the Brewers are valuing getting him back as soon as possible, albeit in a relief role. The decision makes sense giving the timing of the injury but robs Ashby of most of his fantasy value.

Farrell was added to the Reds' active roster Saturday.

Farrell was claimed off waivers Friday after being designated for assignment by the Cubs, and he'll join Cincinnati's active roster ahead of Saturday's game against the Brewers. If the right-hander doesn't pitch out of the bullpen in the coming days, he'll likely be a candidate to start one of the games during the Reds' doubleheader against the Pirates on Tuesday.

Wheeler (forearm) threw approximately 15 pitches off a mound Saturday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Wheeler played catch Thursday and was cleared for mound work a few days later. The right-hander is expected to throw a bullpen session Monday or Tuesday and will likely toss another later in the week. If he feels good following his throwing sessions, the Phillies hope that he'll be able to be activated around Sept. 20, when they'll return home following their upcoming road trip.

Eflin (kneecap) will be reinstated from the 60-day injured list Tuesday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Eflin made a rehab appearance at Triple-A Worcester on Friday and gave up a run on a hit and no walks while striking out three in two innings. The right-hander served exclusively as a starter over 13 big-league outings to begin the year but is expected to pitch out of the bullpen once he's officially activated.

Syndergaard (9-9) picked up the win in Friday's 5-3 victory over the Nationals, giving up three runs on eight hits over six innings. He struck out two without walking a batter.

The right-hander delivered his fourth quality start in his last six outings, but he hasn't quite been as reliable lately as that would suggest. Syndergaard has a 4.25 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 21:6 K:BB through 36 innings over that stretch, and his lack of dominance leaves him susceptible to the occasional implosion.

Corbin (6-18) took the loss Friday, coughing up five runs on 12 hits over 6.2 innings as the Nationals were downed 5-3 by the Phillies. He struck out two without walking a batter.

The veteran southpaw was hit hard, serving up home runs to Rhys Hoskins and J.T. Realmuto while tying his season high by allowing a dozen hits. Corbin saw his brief two-game winning streak snapped, and he's closing in on becoming just the second pitcher since 1980 to lose at least 20 games in a season, a dubious achievement Mike Maroth reached with the Tigers in 2003.

Cabrera (5-2) picked up the win in Friday's 6-3 victory over the Mets, giving up three runs on five hits and two walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out four.

The right-hander cruised through five innings before running into trouble in the sixth. After a Pete Alonso home run was followed by a walk to Tyler Naquin, Cabrera got the hook one out short of his fourth quality start of the season. Since returning from the IL at the beginning of August, the 24-year-old's posted an impressive 2.31 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 44:18 K:BB through 39 innings.
