Morton allowed six runs on six hits and three walks over 4.2 innings against the Phillies on Sunday. He struck out four and did not factor in the decision.

Atlanta ended up winning in extras Sunday, preventing Morton from falling to 9-7 after the rough outing. He coughed up three runs in the first inning and was taken deep twice by Kyle Schwarber. Morton has yielded at least four runs in four of his last six outings, raising his season ERA to 4.29 through 167.2 innings. He's expected to make his final start of the regular season next week at home against the Mets.

Grove (1-0) earned the win during Sunday's 4-1 victory over St. Louis, allowing one run on three hits and one walk with three strikeouts in five innings.

Grove was spotted an early two-run lead and limited St. Louis to one run on three baserunners in the second inning en route to his first career win. Manger Dave Roberts opted to pull the 25-year-old after only 69 pitches with the heart of the Cardinals' lineup due to bat a third time in the sixth, and he's now gone exactly five innings in each of three September starts. Grove possesses a 4.07 ERA and 1.40 WHIP with 21 strikeouts in 24.1 innings across six appearances and five starts.

Lodolo allowed a run on four hits and a walk while striking out six in six innings of a 2-1 win over Milwaukee. He did not factor into the decision.

All four hits against Lodolo came in the second inning, with the big blow being a solo homer by Hunter Renfroe on the first pitch of the frame. Over his final four innings, he retired 12 of the 13 batters he faced and ended the outing by striking out the side in the sixth. The 24-year-old has proven he belongs in the big leagues over his last eight starts, compiling a 2.84 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 62:10 K:BB in 50.2 innings. His next, and perhaps final, start of the season will likely come next weekend in Chicago against the Cubs.

Peralta (shoulder) allowed two hits and a walk while striking out three in two innings in a 2-1 loss Sunday in Cincinnati. He did not factor into the decision.

Peralta was activated before Sunday's game after spending time on the injured list with a shoulder issue. Since he did not have any rehab outings, it's no surprise that he lasted just two innings and tossed only 44 pitches. With nine games to go for Milwaukee, the lefty is likely to get one more start, next weekend against Miami.

Freeland (9-11) took the loss Sunday, allowing seven runs on nine hits with two strikeouts over 2.2 innings against the Padres.

The southpaw was hit hard by San Diego, as he never settled in and was pulled after allowing nine hits in his shortest outing of the season. The rough day breaks a five-game streak in which he threw five or more innings and allowed two or fewer runs. His ERA increased 31 points to 4.68, which would be his highest since 2019. He tentatively next lines up to face the Dodgers on the road this weekend.

Ortiz (0-1) took the loss Sunday against the Cubs, allowing a run on one hit and two walks while striking out seven in 4.2 innings.

It was a bit of a tough-luck loss for Ortiz on Sunday as he left the scoreless game with two outs and one on in the fifth only to see reliever Manny Banuelos gave up a homer, saddling Ortiz with an earned run. He fanned six of the first 10 batters he faced and did not give up another hit after allowing the first batter of the game to single. The 23-year-old has allowed only five hits in 15.1 innings across his first three big-league starts, compiling a 1.17 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and 17:7 K:BB in that span. His next and possibly final start of the season will likely come next weekend in St. Louis.

Clevinger did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing five runs on eight hits and one walk over four innings against Colorado. He struck out two.

After making it through at least five innings in his last three starts, Clevinger was chased after allowing five runs over four innings Sunday. He has now allowed 20 runs over 23 innings in his last five starts, ballooning his ERA to 4.49, up from 3.59 on Aug. 29. He will attempt to get back on track in his next start, tentatively scheduled against the White Sox this weekend.

Manager Dave Roberts said Sunday that May (back) won't be playing catch for at least "a few days," Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

The 25-year-old landed on the shelf with lower-back tightness on Saturday, and it's not much of a surprise he'll take a break from throwing. May won't be eligible to return from the injured list until the NLDS, though it remains to be seen if he'll be healthy by that point. According to Juan Toribio of MLB.com, Roberts also said the right-hander could pitch out of the bullpen once cleared to return.

Cabrera had X-rays come back negative and was diagnosed with a low-grade right ankle strain after he exited Sunday's game against the Nationals, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Cabrera tweaked his ankle while fielding a bunt during the fourth inning and was lifted from the contest, though he pleaded with manager Don Mattingly to stay in the game. The 24-year-old allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits with three strikeouts and zero walks over 3.2 innings, and he's in line for the loss with the Marlins trailing 3-0. It's unclear if the injury will affect Cabrera's availability for his next turn through the rotation, which tentatively lines up for next weekend in Milwaukee.

Montgomery (8-6) took the loss during Saturday's 6-2 defeat at the hands of the Dodgers, allowing six runs on seven hits and one walk with three strikeouts in four innings.

Montgomery surrendered three home runs in the first two innings to fall behind 4-0 before permitting three baserunners during a two-run fourth in submitting his worst start of the season by game score. The 29-year-old was fantastic with a 5-0 record and a 1.45 ERA across his first seven starts with St. Louis but has come back to earth during his last three -- all losses -- with an 8.16 ERA in 14.1 innings. He still possesses a quality 3.50 ERA and 1.10 WHIP on the season and will look to get back on track next weekend against Pittsburgh.
