Vines is on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Gwinnett with an undisclosed injury.

Given that Vines has had success in the upper levels and is on the 40-man roster, it seemed odd that he never factored into this spring's rotation competition in camp, so an injury makes sense. He has an excellent changeup that allows his low-90s fastball and average slider to play up. Vines should be considered out indefinitely until we get word on the nature of his injury.

Miller (shoulder) threw a simulated inning this past Saturday at the Dodgers' spring training complex in Arizona, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Miller came down with some minor shoulder soreness toward the end of camp, but he's now on a build-up program that should allow him to join Triple-A Oklahoma City within the next few weeks. The 23-year-old top pitching prospect seems likely to make his MLB debut at some point during the 2023 season, assuming good health.

Pepiot (oblique) could resume throwing as soon as next week, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Pepiot was placed on the 15-day injured list on the morning of Opening Day and lost out on an opportunity to begin the year as a member of the Dodgers' rotation. However, his oblique strain is said to be relatively minor, and the hope is he might be ready for big-league action by the end of April. Tony Gonsolin (ankle) is also tracking toward a late-April return, so Pepiot might be used in long relief initially or even stationed at Triple-A Oklahoma City. Michael Grove currently occupies the final spot in LA's starting mix.

Grove did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing three runs on two hits and two walks over four innings against the Rockies. He struck out four.

Grove is filling in for Ryan Pepiot, who was placed on the 15-day injured list with a left oblique strain after initially claiming the Dodgers' final rotation spot. Grove is expected to see at least three starts before Pepiot is cleared, so his fantasy value is limited to the interim. Grove is slated to pitch again Sunday in Arizona.

Feltner (0-1) took the loss Monday, allowing five runs on four hits and five walks over 4.2 innings against the Dodgers. He struck out seven.

After striking out the side in the second, Feltner surrendered a two-run homer to Chris Taylor in the third, giving the Dodgers an early 2-0 advantage. Colorado answered in the top of the fifth and took a 4-2 lead, but it was short lived as Feltner issued back-to-back two-out walks to load the bases before being taken out in the bottom half of the inning. Eventually, all three of those runners came around to score, turning a decent night into a losing effort. Despite the end results, Feltner's seven strikeouts against a strong Dodgers lineup certainly keeps the right-hander on fantasy radars.

Elder was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett by Atlanta on Tuesday.

Elder will slide into Atlanta's rotation Wednesday versus the Cardinals in place of the injured Max Fried (hamstring). He should get at least one additional start as Fried recuperates, although that could depend on how he, Dylan Dodd and Jared Shuster perform and when Kyle Wright (shoulder) returns.

Atlanta placed Fried on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to April 1, on Tuesday with a strained left hamstring.

Fried suffered the injury during his Opening Day start and is now finally officially on the IL. The feeling at this point is that he should be ready to go after missing just two starts. Bryce Elder will take Fried's spot in Atlanta's rotation Wednesday in St. Louis.

Nelson did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks over five innings in a 5-4 loss against San Diego. He struck out three.

Nelson gave up a two-run homer to Juan Soto in the first and an RBI single to Manny Machado in the second, but he settled down after that and finished with three scoreless frames. The 2019 second-round pick made his MLB debut late last year, posting a 1.47 ERA and 0.82 WHIP with a 16:6 K:BB across three starts (18.1 innings), but he figures to face a little adversity in his first full campaign. Given the opponent, Nelson's 2023 debut was solid, but it doesn't get much easier for the rookie, who's scheduled to pitch again Sunday versus the Dodgers.

Pfaadt allowed five runs on six hits while striking out seven over 3.2 innings in Sunday's start for Triple-A Reno.

Pfaadt was hit hard in his season debut for the Aces, giving up four home runs before departing. In other ways, it was a typical Pfaadt outing in that he didn't walk a batter and got seven of 11 outs via the strikeout. The right-hander was in the mix for the final rotation spot in training camp and could see his way up to MLB at some point in 2023.

Williams (0-1) took the loss against Tampa Bay on Monday, completing five innings during which he allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits and one walk while striking out three batters.

Williams fell behind early, serving up a two-run home run to Luke Raley in the first inning. By the time he departed, Washington trailed 4-0, and the Nationals didn't score their first run until the seventh. Williams pitched fairly well for the Mets in a swingman role last year, posting a 3.21 ERA and 1.23 WHIP over 89.2 innings. However, his career 4.27 ERA and 7.4 K/9 don't invoke much excitement about his fantasy prospects as a full-time starter this season.
