Falter (0-3) took the loss in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the White Sox, giving up three runs on three hits and three walks over seven innings in a 3-0 loss. He struck out three.

It was a solid performance from the southpaw, who tossed 67 of 98 pitches for strikes en route to his first quality start of the season, but the Phillies managed only one hit against Lucas Giolito and the White Sox bullpen. Falter will carry a 4.50 ERA and 12:4 K:BB through 22 innings into his next outing, likely to come early next week at home against the Mariners.

Wheeler (1-1) picked up the win in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the White Sox, giving up four runs on eight hits over five innings. He struck out five without walking a batter.

The Phillies jumped out to 5-0 lead through three innings, but Wheeler nearly gave it all back in the bottom of the third as Chicago reeled off six straight hits to begin its half of the frame. The right-hander regained his focus, however, retiring the next three batters and then not allowing another run. Wheeler tossed 65 of 94 pitches for strikes before exiting, and he'll carry a 4.79 ERA and 23:7 K:BB through 20.2 innings into his next outing, likely to come this weekend at home against the Rockies.

Rea surrendered four runs on five hits and two walks over five innings during Tuesday's 11-inning win against the Mariners. He struck out two and didn't factor in the decision.

The right-hander was staked a 3-0 lead and held Seattle scoreless in four of his five frames, but the Mariners struck for four runs on four hits, a walk and a hit-by-pitch during the third inning. Despite the rough third frame, it was a second consecutive solid outing for Rea, who now has a 4.22 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 8:3 K:BB across 10.2 innings. He's likely to stick in Milwaukee's rotation since Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) is still on the injured list, with Rea tentatively lining up to pitch early next week versus Detroit.

Gray (0-4) took the loss Tuesday, allowing one run on four hits and four walks over five innings against the Orioles. He struck out three.

Gray pitched well Tuesday, allowing just one run while scattering four hits and four walks. However, he fell to 0-4 as the Nationals' bats were stymied in a 1-0 loss. The 25-year-old Gray has been solid since allowing five runs in his first start of the year, surrendering three over his last 16.2 innings. He has a 3.74 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 16:9 K:BB through 21.2 frames.

Cabrera (1-1) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks over six innings against San Francisco. He struck out eight.

Cabrera was excellent after surrendering a two-run home run to Mike Yastrzemski in the first inning, blanking the Giants over his final five frames while allowing just three hits. The 25-year-old Cabrera has issued just three walks in his last two starts after walking 13 in his first two outings. He lowers his ERA to 4.08 with a 1.75 WHIP and 18:16 K:BB through 17.2 innings this season.

Lodolo (2-1) took the loss Tuesday against the Rays, allowing eight runs on 12 hits and one walk over 4.2 innings. He struck out four.

Lodolo had no answer for the Rays on Tuesday, allowing 12 hits, including three home runs, en route to his first loss of the season. The young left-hander's ERA ballooned from 2.12 to 4.98 after the rough outing. Lodolo has a 31:7 K:BB and 1.71 WHIP through 21.2 innings this season. He's currently lined up to make his next start at home against Texas, where he'll look to get back on track.

Giants manager Gabe Kapler told reporters after Tuesday's game against the Marlins that Wood (hamstring) will likely be placed on the 15-day injured list, Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Wood left his start in the third inning after suffering a left hamstring strain while fielding a bunt and making an awkward throw to first. The left-hander appears all but certain to log an IL stint, and the Giants will consequently need to add a rotation arm for the next couple of weeks at the very least.

Houser (groin) allowed two runs over three innings of work with a walk and five strikeouts in a rehab appearance for Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday.

Houser threw 59 pitches, with 37 of them landing for strikes. It's the second rehab appearance for the right-hander as he works his way back from groin tightness that has sidelined him for the beginning of the 2023 campaign. Assuming a positive report following the outing, there's a good chance Houser joins the Brewers as a multi-inning relief option by the end of the week.

Wood left Tuesday's start against the Marlins with a left hamstring strain, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Wood picked up the injury while fielding a sacrifice fly in the third inning of his start against the Marlins. The left-hander should be considered day-to-day for now, but there's a very good chance he'll need to miss a start or two depending on the severity of the strain.
