Wacha will start Monday's game against the Royals, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Wacha was originally scheduled to face the Dodgers on Sunday, but the right-hander will be moved back to Monday with Ryan Weathers getting the ball in his absence. The Padres are committed to giving their starters extra days of rest whenever possible, and Wacha will gain added rest with his outing moved to Monday against the Royals.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters that he's "hopeful" Syndergaard (finger) will be able to make his start Monday,Matthew Moreno of DodgerBlue.com reports.

Syndergaard was able to throw again Friday with his right index finger covered after developing a cut on the digit Tuesday, but the real test for the right-hander will come during Saturday's bullpen session. If he has no issues Saturday, he likely will be on the mound Monday against the Twins, but fantasy GMs should wait for the team to make it official before plugging Syndergaard back into their active rosters.

Wood (hamstring) was activated Friday from the 15-day injured list, Danny Emerman of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports.

The left-hander will likely serve as the bulk reliever behind opener John Brebbia on Friday night against the Diamondbacks before settling back into more of a regular rotation role next week. Wood threw only 46 pitches in his lone rehab start Sunday at Triple-A Sacramento. He's been out since April 19 with a left hamstring strain.

Anderson is expected to start for the Rockies on Tuesday against the Reds, Suzie Hunter of TheDNVR.com reports.

That would have been Antonio Senzatela's turn, but he was diagnosed Friday with a UCL sprain in his right elbow and is likely to be sidelined for multiple months. Anderson, claimed off waivers Wednesday from the Rays, holds an ugly 6.51 ERA over his last 110.2 major-league innings dating back to the beginning of the 2020 season.

Peterson is scheduled to start Monday's game versus the Nationals in Washington, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

Peterson was called up from Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday and made what was expected to be a spot start while Max Scherzer (neck) was pushed back in the pitching schedule. Scherzer is healthy again and is slated to start Sunday against the Nationals, but Peterson will stick in the rotation for the series finale Monday while the Mets give an extra day of rest to Justin Verlander, who is now slated to take hill Tuesday versus the Rays. Peterson struggled in place of Scherzer on Tuesday versus the Reds, yielding four earned runs on seven hits and two walks over just 3.1 innings.

Verlander's next start has been pushed from Monday to Tuesday, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

David Peterson will make a spot start in the Mets' series finale against the Nationals on Monday, giving Verlander an extra day of rest while also lining him up to handle Tuesday's series opener versus the red-hot Rays. The veteran right-hander has posted a vintage 2.25 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 12:3 K:BB through 12 innings (two starts) with New York after missing the first five weeks of the season because of a shoulder strain.

Rockies manager Bud Black told reporters before Friday's game against the Phillies that Marquez (elbow) had undergone Tommy John reconstructive surgery earlier in the day, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports.

Marquez underwent the procedure in the Denver area. The right-hander will miss the rest of the 2023 season and likely won't be ready to pitch until the summer of 2024 at the earliest.

Senzatela was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday with a UCL sprain in his right elbow, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports.

Senzatela is expected to return before the end of the season, but he'll be shut down completely for at least the next couple of weeks and is likely to spend multiple months on the IL. He injured his right ulnar collateral ligament Wednesday in just his second start back from an ACL tear in his left knee.

Perez's contract was selected from Double-A Pensacola on Friday.

Perez will make his major-league debut as the Marlins' starter during Friday's matchup against the Reds. He's been productive at Pensacola to begin the year, posting a 2.32 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 42:9 K:BB in 31 innings over six starts. Perez has an impressive four-pitch arsenal with solid command and has the tools to succeed at the big-league level.

Anderson was claimed off waivers by the Rockies on Friday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

Anderson was designated for assignment by the Rays on Wednesday but will land with a new organization a few days later. The right-hander tossed five scoreless innings over two relief appearances with Tampa Bay to begin the year. Although he picked up his first career save in early May, he'll likely serve as a middle reliever in Colorado, or he could step in as a starter if Antonio Senzatela (forearm) is forced to miss time.
