May (elbow) will receive a PRP injection in an effort to avoid surgery, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

If all goes according to plan, this puts May in line to return within 4-to-6 weeks. A move to the 15-day injured list is inevitable, and his absence opens up the door for Gavin Stone to potentially rejoin the Dodgers' rotation from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Walker did not factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks over two-thirds of an inning against San Francisco. He struck out one.

Walker was a disaster Wednesday. He retired two of the first three batters but allowed five straight to reach and departed after throwing 40 first-inning pitches. Matt Strahm stranded two runners to prevent Walker's day from getting worse. The righty has been a nightmare in his first season with the Phillies. He has a 6.53 ERA and 1.50 WHIP, and Wednesday was the fourth time he's given up at least four runs in an outing.

Nelson did not factor into the decision Wednesday, as he did not surrender a run while allowing one hit and four walks over 5.1 innings in a 5-3 victory over the Athletics. He struck out six.

Nelson delivered his best outing of the season Wednesday. He didn't allow a run for the first time this year, and he posted a season-high six strikeouts. He did run into some control problems in the sixth inning when he walked the bases loaded. Luis Frias came on in relief and recorded two outs to strand the bases loaded and preserve Nelson's ERA, which sits at 5.48 this season.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said after Wednesday's game that May has been diagnosed with a right flexor pronator strain, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

May showed a dip in velocity in the first inning of his start Wednesday afternoon against the Twins and was ultimately pulled after throwing just 16 pitches. He will be placed on the 15-day injured list, though Roberts declined to guess on an overall timetable other than acknowledging it would be more than a month. It's not yet known whether his UCL has been impacted -- early signs are good in that regard but further imaging scans are coming. May, one of the brightest young starters in the sport, required Tommy John surgery back in May 2021.

Hill (4-3) earned the win Wednesday, allowing one hit and two walks over six scoreless innings against the Tigers. He struck out seven.

Hill allowed just one hit in the contest, a leadoff single to Matt Vierling in the first inning, before retiring 15 of his last 17 batters faced. The 43-year-old Hill has now recorded quality starts in five of his nine outings this year. He lowered his ERA to 3.80 with a 1.35 WHIP and 43:15 K:BB over 47.1 innings.

Milwaukee placed Miley on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a strained left lat.

Miley suffered the injury in the second inning of his start in Tuesday's win over the Cardinals. The Brewers haven't offered up a timetable for Miley's return, as the veteran left-hander had to be sent back to Milwaukee to undergo further testing. Reliever Jake Cousins was called up from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move.

May left Wednesday's start against the Twins with right elbow pain, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. He struck out two batters over one scoreless inning before exiting.

May threw just 16 pitches and sported a fastball that sat around 93-to-95 miles per hour -- a few ticks below his season average -- before he was replaced by Dylan Covey in the second frame. The Dodgers are labeling May as day-to-day for the time being, but he'll presumably be put through tests in the next day or two as the team looks to get a read on the extent of the injury. Given that May missed most of the 2021 and 2022 seasons while recovering from Tommy John surgery on the elbow, he's most likely be headed for the injured list. Assuming May does miss time, Gavin Stone could be called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City to replace May in the rotation.

St. Louis recalled Liberatore from Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday.

As was previously reported, Liberatore will make his first major-league start of the season Wednesday versus the division-rival Brewers. The highly-touted 23-year-old left-hander was sporting a 3.13 ERA with 56 strikeouts through 46 innings (eight starts) this season at the Triple-A level and is worth a shot in most standard fantasy formats. If he stays on turn, his next start with the Cardinals would be on the road against the Reds.

May left Wednesday's start against the Twins after one inning, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

May threw 16 pitches before leaving, with Dylan Covey taking over in the second inning. May should be considered day-to-day until an update from the Dodgers is given as to why the right-hander exited.

Wainwright is now scheduled to make his next start Thursday versus the Dodgers, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Heading into the week, Wainwright was lined up to start Wednesday's series finale versus the Brewers, but the Cardinals are instead giving him and each of their other four starters an extra day of rest by calling up lefty Matthew Liberatore from Triple-A Memphis to get the ball against Milwaukee. The matchup change from the Brewers to the Dodgers amounts to a downgrade for Wainwright, but he'll still benefit from pitching at home rather than on the road.
