The Reds plan to call up Phillips from Triple-A Louisville to start Monday's game against the Twins, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Though Phillips was sent back to Louisville on Thursday, he'll be eligible to return to the Reds without spending the minimum 15 days in the minors because he had initially joined Cincinnati earlier this month as a replacement for a player placed on the COVID-19-related injured list. The Reds have four other healthy starting pitchers and three more off days over the final two weeks of the season, so Phillips may just be making a spot start Monday if manager David Bell chooses to get by with a four-man rotation the rest of the way. Phillips has been one of the Reds' top pitchers in the upper levels of the minors this season but labored in his first two big-league starts, striking out 10 over 8.2 innings while allowing eight earned runs on 10 hits and six walks.

Flexen (1-8) took the loss Sunday against the Giants after giving up four runs on five hits while striking out five over 5.1 innings.

Flexen got off to a very strong start, allowing just two hits and a run through five frames before things fell apart in the sixth. He began the inning with an out but proceeded to allow three straight hits and was pulled in favor of Matt Koch who could not help him strand the inherited runners. Some positives are that Flexen has struck out five batters in back-to-back starts and hasn't surrendered a home run in either start as well, both of which took place at Coors Field. He's struggled to a unsightly 7.19 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and 70:34 K:BB in 91.1 innings. Flexen lines up for a road start against the Cubs this week.

Hudson allowed three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three over five innings Sunday against the Phillies. He did not factor into the decision.

Hudson allowed just one hit through the first three innings, but the Phillies finally got to him with three runs in the fourth. Shockingly enough, Hudson's three strikeouts were his most in a start since he had seven Aug. 20. He had just five strikeouts in his previous four starts and has only managed to reach six innings once in his last six starts. The 28-year-old is up to a 5.12 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 40:30 K:BB in 70.1 innings. He's projected to face the Padres on the road in his next outing.

Walker gave up five runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out three over seven innings Sunday against the Cardinals. He did not factor into the decision.

The Cardinals got to Walker for three runs in the third and two runs in the fifth, but he ended strong with two shutout innings and was able to provide the Phillies with some length. It's just the second start in the last seven games he's managed to go more than six innings, a span during which he's struggled to a 5.85 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and has just 29 strikeouts in 40 innings. The 30-year-old currently projects for a home matchup against his former team in the Mets.

Woodruff did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing one run on three hits and zero walks over six innings against Washington. He struck out six.

A two-out solo homer by Luis Garcia in the second inning was the only blemish to Woodruff's line, as the hurler allowed only two other baserunners in his six innings. However, an anemic Brewers offense was able to manufacture just one run in support of Woodruff, who was looking for his sixth win of the season in 10 starts. It was Woodruff's fifth consecutive quality start, and he now holds an ERA of 1.06 with 38 strikeouts in 34 innings over that stretch. He'll look continue his hot streak in his next start, currently scheduled to take place in Miami over the weekend.

Corbin did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over six innings against Milwaukee. He struck out two.

Corbin held the Brewers scoreless through five to maintain a 1-0 lead, but Mark Canha led off the sixth with a leadoff single and a steal of second. A sacrifice bunt and sacrifice fly followed as the Brewers manufactured their way to tie the game against Corbin, costing him a chance at earning his 11th win. After having allowed 14 runs over nine innings in his previous two starts, Corbin tossed his second consecutive quality start to improve his ERA to an even 5.00 over 171 innings. His next start is scheduled to take place over the weekend at home against Atlanta.

Luzardo (10-9) allowed four hits and two walks over six shutout frames Sunday, striking out eight and earning a win against Atlanta.

Luzardo worked around a bases-loaded jam in the fourth inning but didn't face much of a threat otherwise. He's turned in three scoreless performances over his last five starts, posting a 2.48 ERA during that span and lowering his season ERA to 3.68. However, he's allowed at least four runs in four of his eight outings since the start of August. Luzardo's next start is currently projected to be at home against the Brewers.

Rogers (lat) has been playing catch out to 75 feet up to four times per week as of Friday, MLB.com reports.

The Marlins haven't officially shut Rogers down for the season, but the 25-year-old southpaw already seems to be turning his focus to getting healthy for spring training after suffering a partial tear of his right lat in early June while he was on a rehab assignment. Rogers, who was initially placed on the injured list April 21 with a left biceps strain, is expected to continue his throwing progression through the end of the season even though the Marlins seemingly don't have plans to activate him.

Morton (14-12) allowed six runs on six hits and five walks over 4.2 innings Sunday. He struck out five and took a loss against Miami.

Morton kept the Marlins off the board for two innings before coughing up five runs in the third, including Jazz Chisholm's grand slam. After yielding three runs during a five-start stretch, Morton has been tagged with 10 runs in his last two appearances. His season ERA has climbed to 3.66 with a 182:81 K:BB through 162.1 frames. Morton's next start is lined up to be in Washington.

Feltner (head) struck out four and allowed one earned run on three hits and two walks over 4.2 innings in his most recent rehab start Tuesday at Triple-A Albuquerque.

Making the third start of his rehab assignment and his second in a row with Albuquerque, Feltner built up to 66 pitches (40 strikes). Per MLB.com, Rockies manager Bud Black said Feltner will make one more rehab start in the minors before making his return from the 60-day injured list and likely sliding into the big-league rotation. Feltner has been on the shelf since mid-May after being struck in the head by a line drive and suffering a small skull fracture and concussion.
