He currently lines up for a road rematch with the Mets next week.

Rutledge did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing two runs on six hits and a walk over 6.1 innings against the White Sox. He struck out two.

It was certainly a step in the right direction for Rutledge after he was tagged for seven runs in 3.2 innings in his debut outing against Pittsburgh. The 24-year-old right-hander will likely make one more start this season, currently scheduled for next week in Baltimore, as he looks to solidify a sport in the Nationals' 2024 rotation.

Sanchez (2-5) took the loss Tuesday, allowing three runs on seven hits and a walk over four innings against Atlanta. He struck out two.

It was another rough outing for Sanchez, who's now allowed seven runs on 15 hits in his last two outings (11.1 innings), both against Atlanta. Overall, the 26-year-old southpaw sports a 3.55 ERA with a 1.09 WHIP and 85:15 K:BB across 17 starts (91.1 innings) this season. Sanchez is currently slated for a home matchup with the Mets in his next outing, though he could be set up for another "tandem start" with Michael Lorenzen.

Cobb was removed from his start Tuesday against the Diamondbacks with an apparent hip injury, Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Cobb was grabbing at his left hip at the end of the second inning and was taken out of the game after not being able to get comfortable while warming up ahead of the third frame. The Giants will take a look at Cobb and should provide more details shortly, but fantasy managers should view Cobb as day-to-day for now.

Strider (18-5) earned the win Tuesday, allowing three runs on four hits over seven innings against the Phillies. He struck out 11.

Strider was dominant Tuesday, keeping the Phillies off the board for five innings before Bryce Harper launched a three-run homer. Still, the 24-year-old Strider would hang on for his 18th win, the most in the majors, while racking up double-digit strikeouts for the 11th time this season. Strider increased his league-leading strikeout total to 270 to go along with a 3.73 ERA and 1.06 WHIP. He's currently slated for a road matchup with the Nationals in his next outing.

Feltner (head) was activated from the 60-day injured list ahead of his start Tuesday at San Diego.

Feltner suffered a small skull fracture and a concussion when he was struck by a line drive May 13 against the Phillies, but he is back at full strength and can fit in a couple more turns in the Rockies' rotation before the conclusion of the 2023 campaign. The 27-year-old right-hander threw 66 pitches over 4.2 innings of one-run ball in his third and final minor-league rehab start last week with Triple-A Albuquerque.

Falter is starting Tuesday's game against the Cubs in Chicago.

Falter tossed six innings of one-run ball on 67 pitches the last time he drew a traditional start Sept. 12 versus the Nationals. The 26-year-old left-hander carries an overall 3.62 ERA and 30:9 K:BB through 37.1 innings of work with the Pirates, who acquired him from the Phillies at the Aug. 1 trade deadline in exchange for Rodolfo Castro.

Wainwright will not make his next scheduled start this weekend in San Diego, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Wainwright notched his 200th career victory Monday versus the Brewers and it sounds like the Cardinals want him to go out on a high note. If the retiring right-hander does make another start this year, it would probably be during the final weekend of the regular season at home against the Reds.

Fried (finger) is scheduled to start Thursday's game in Washington, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Fried received the green light to return to Atlanta's rotation after throwing a bullpen session Monday without any protective tape covering the small blister on his left hand. The 29-year-old southpaw hasn't appeared in a game since early last week, but it never seemed to be a serious concern for the NL East champions.
