Wright will be available out of the bullpen beginning with Sunday's doubleheader against the Nationals, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Wright struggled in two starts since being activated from the 60-day injured list with 10 runs allowed over seven innings, so he'll receive a look out of the bullpen in anticipation of potentially filling that role in the playoffs. The right-hander was a key rotation piece for Atlanta last season with a 3.19 ERA in 30 starts, but he has a 7.71 ERA in seven outings this year while missing most of the campaign with a shoulder strain.

Winans was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett and will start Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Nationals.

The right-hander was sent to Gwinnett on Sept. 11 after making a spot start for Atlanta, and he'll rejoin the big-league rotation Sunday with Charlie Morton (finger) landing on the injured list. Winans has a 4.50 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 26:4 K:BB across 22 big-league innings this season.

Luzardo came away with a no-decision Saturday, giving up three runs on three hits and three walks over five-plus innings in Miami's 5-4 victory over Milwaukee. He struck out four.

The southpaw blanked the Brewers for five innings before the wheels began to come off in the sixth, but he still exited the game with the Marlins ahead 4-1 before A.J. Puk served up a Carlos Santana homer that cashed in two baserunners Luzardo had left behind. It's just the second time in his last six outings he's been charged with more than two runs, a stretch in which Luzardo sports a 2.91 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 38:13 K:BB through 34 innings. The Marlins remain alive in the NL wild-card race, sitting one game back of the Cubs for the final spot heading into Sunday's action, so the club could need its best remaining starter to come up big in his final start of the regular season, likely to come on the road next week against the Mets.

Morton was placed on the 15-day injured list Sunday with right index finger inflammation.

The right-hander suffered the injury during Friday's start against the Nationals and will finish the regular season on the IL. Morton is now likely to be unavailable through at least the NLDS, as he won't be eligible to be activated until after the roster for that series needs to be set. However, he could be reinstated mid-series if Atlanta places another player on the IL. Allan Winans was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett in a corresponding move and will start Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader in Washington.

Woodruff came away with a no-decision Saturday in the Brewers' 5-4 loss to the Marlins, giving up four runs on six hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out six.

A three-run shot by Jake Burger in the first inning accounted for most of the damage off Woodruff, but the right-hander still left the mound having generating 29 called or swinging strikes among his 87 pitches. He saw his quality start streak end at five. Since returning to the rotation in early August, Woodruff has posted a 2.59 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 62:12 K:BB through 55.2 innings. With Milwaukee having already clinched the NL Central title, he could be headed for a reduced workload in his final regular-season start next weekend, likely to come at home against the Cubs.

Wheeler (13-6) picked up the win in Saturday's 7-5 victory over the Mets, giving up five runs (three earned) on eight hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out six.

The right-hander fired an efficient 99 pitches and generated 30 called or swinging strikes, but Wheeler faded late and nearly squandered the Phillies' lead by allowing three runs in the seventh inning. He held on for his fourth straight winning decision, and over that six-outing stretch he's posted a 3.41 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 42:8 K:BB through 37 innings while delivering five quality starts. Wheeler lines up to take the mound once more in the regular season -- a rematch with the Mets in New York next weekend -- but with the Phillies all but locked into the top wild-card spot in the NL, he could make an early exit to get a bit of extra rest ahead of the postseason.

Quintana (3-6) took the loss Saturday, coughing up six runs (five earned) on eight hits as the Mets fell 7-5 to the Phillies. He struck out 10 without walking a batter.

The veteran southpaw generated 33 called or swinging strikes among his 103 pitches as he struck out double-digit batters for the first time since August 2019, but Quintana got hit hard when the Phillies did make contact and also served up multiple homers for the first time this season. In 12 starts since making his belated season debut after the All-Star break, Quintana has a 3.39 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 55:24 K:BB through 71.2 innings, numbers right in line with his 2022 resurgence. He'll take the mound one more time in 2023, at home next weekend in a rematch with the Phillies.

Phillips allowed three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out nine batters over five-plus innings in a no-decision against Pittsburgh on Saturday.

Phillips was staked to a 9-0 lead through three innings, and he looked to be in line for a relatively easy win when he left the game with an eight-run lead after giving up consecutive singles to begin the sixth. However, the Reds' bullpen allowed both of those baserunners to score and surrendered three additional runs in the frame, and the Pirates attacked for seven more runs over the seventh and eighth innings to storm back for the win. Despite that outcome, Phillips made a positive overall impression in the outing, racking up 13 whiffs and a career-high nine punchouts. He's posted a solid 26:10 K:BB over 20.2 innings on the campaign and lines up for one more regular-season start, which is tentatively slated to come in St. Louis next weekend.

Falter allowed eight runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out one batter over two innings in a no-decision against Cincinnati on Saturday.

Falter logged just one inning as an opener in his previous outing, but it's unclear if he was slated to return to more of a traditional starting role Saturday. The lefty hurler didn't earn a chance to go very deep as he was pummeled for eight runs in just two frames. The Reds knocked three homers against Falter, including two in the first inning. Perhaps the only positive part of the pitcher's outing was that Pittsburgh was able to overcome a 9-0 deficit to pick up a victory and protect him from taking the loss. Despite the short outing, Falter tossed 57 pitches, so he presumably will have just one more chance to take the mound before the end of the campaign.

Stripling allowed four runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out four over four innings in Saturday's 7-0 loss to the Dodgers. He did not factor in the decision.

The Giants were already down 3-0 by the time Stripling entered the game. He didn't do anything to keep it close, allowing a pair of runs in both the fifth and eighth innings. This was Stripling's second appearance since he returned from a back injury, and he's yielded seven runs over 7.1 innings in those games. He's at a 5.57 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 68:16 K:BB through 85.2 innings over 21 outings (11 starts) this season.
