Kevin Gausman SP | TOR
Blue Jays' Kevin Gausman: Rocked for seven runs
Gausman (4-5) took the loss Friday against the Cubs, allowing seven runs on seven hits and four walks over two innings. He struck out three.
It was a disaster of an opening frame for Gausman, who walked the first two batters he faced before eventually giving up a grand slam to Carson Kelly as part of a seven-run inning. It's the third time in the right-hander's last four starts that he's allowed four or more runs, and he's surrendered five homers during that span. The poor showing boosted Gausman's ERA by more than a half run to 4.04 to go along with a 1.13 WHIP and 89:20 K:BB over 87 innings this year.

Luis Castillo SP | SEA
Mariners' Luis Castillo: Roughed up in relief outing
Castillo allowed five runs (four earned) on seven hits and struck out four without walking a batter over four innings of relief in Friday's 6-2 loss to the Red Sox.
Castillo wasn't tagged with the loss, as that went to Bryce Miller. The Mariners' offense didn't give much support to either pitcher, but Castillo didn't do his part to keep the game close after a four-run seventh inning. He has now allowed 11 runs (seven earned) across 15.1 innings in June. Both Castillo and Miller are expected to work in traditional starts at some point during the Mariners' six-game road trip next week.

Bryce Miller SP | SEA
Mariners' Bryce Miller: Strikes out seven in loss
Miller (3-1) allowed one run on three hits and struck out seven without walking a batter over five innings, taking the loss Friday versus the Red Sox.
Miller was strong again, throwing 46 of 66 pitches for strikes in a planned short start with Luis Castillo working in the long-relief role. However, the Mariners got no-hit through 6.1 innings and didn't score until the ninth, leaving Miller with no run support in a hard-luck loss. The right-hander is now at a 1.58 ERA, 0.70 WHIP and 43:5 K:BB over 40 innings through seven appearances (six starts) this season. The Mariners plan to have all of their starters work in a tandem situation at least once prior to the All-Star break. With Miller getting his done now, he should see something closer to a traditional starter's workload in his next outing.

Ranger Suarez SP | BOS
Red Sox's Ranger Suarez: Flirts with no-no Friday
Suarez (3-3) allowed one hit and three walks while striking out five over 6.2 scoreless innings to earn the win Friday over the Mariners.
Suarez didn't allow a hit until Josh Naylor's one-out double in the seventh inning. After ending May in shaky form, Suarez has allowed just three runs over 18 innings while posting an 18:5 K:BB across three starts in June. The southpaw has a 2.93 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 75:24 K:BB through 76.2 innings across 14 starts this season, including six scoreless outings. He is lined up to make his next start in Colorado.

Jacob deGrom SP | TEX
Rangers' Jacob deGrom: Overcomes early struggles in win
DeGrom (6-4) earned the win against the Padres on Friday, allowing six runs on six hits and three walks with nine strikeouts over six innings.
DeGrom allowed five runs in the first inning but battled through five more frames as the Rangers erupted for nine runs in the contest. It marked the third time this season the 38-year-old has yielded six earned runs, though he still managed an impressive 17 swinging strikes on 106 pitches. He'll take a 3.59 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 98:18 K:BB across 82.2 innings into a road matchup against the Marlins next week.

Tanner Bibee SP | CLE
Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Takes tough-luck loss
Bibee (2-8) took the loss against the Astros on Friday, allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits and two walks with seven strikeouts over 5.1 innings.
Bibee entered the sixth inning with a 3-2 lead before allowing two baserunners and departing at 95 pitches. Unfortunately for Bibee, he was charged with both runs and the loss after Matt Festa allowed a three-run homer in relief. It ended a stretch of three straight quality starts for the 27-year-old Bibee, though he still owns a 2.21 ERA through three June outings. He'll carry a 4.03 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 78:28 K:BB across 89.1 total innings into a road matchup against the White Sox next week.

Tatsuya Imai SP | HOU
Astros' Tatsuya Imai: Strikes out 11 in win
Imai (4-3) earned the win against the Guardians on Friday, allowing three runs on six hits and no walks with 11 strikeouts over six innings.
Imai allowed three runs in the third inning but was otherwise as good as he's been in an Astros uniform, registering a season-high 11 punchouts while not issuing a walk for just the second time in 10 contests. He leaned heavily on his slider, generating a whopping 17 of his 20 swinging strikes on the pitch while throwing it 57 percent of the time. The 28-year-old still owns an ugly 6.15 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 48:24 K:BB across 41 innings this season and will try to build on this performance in a road matchup against the Tigers next week.

Grayson Rodriguez SP | LAA
Angels' Grayson Rodriguez: MRI comes back clean
Rodriguez (back) recently underwent an MRI that came back clean, per MLB.com.
The imaging brought promising news for the right-handed hurler, and he was able to play catch June 16. That was just two days after Rodriguez had to depart his start against Tampa Bay after feeling tightness in his back. It's not clear how long Rodriguez will be sidelined, but early indications are that he may not need much more than the minimum 15 days required by his IL stint.

Cristian Javier SP | HOU
Astros' Cristian Javier: Next rehab start Sunday
Javier (shoulder) will make another appearance Sunday for Triple-A Sugar Land in what should be his final rehab start, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Javier only made three appearances for Houston before being placed on the injured list April 10. Houston believes this upcoming rehab start should be the 29-year-old's final one, so it seems the right-hander is close to being back with the big-league club after missing over two months of action.

Max Fried SP | NYY
Yankees' Max Fried: Slated for another mound session
Fried (elbow) will throw a bullpen session this weekend, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.
Fried has been out of action since mid-May due to a left elbow bone bruise. The southpaw was cleared to throw off a mound about a month later, and he tossed his first bullpen June 16. MLB.com reports that Fried's next bullpen will take place Sunday and that the veteran pitcher is currently asymptomatic. If he continues to progress without any setbacks, Fried could rejoin New York's rotation at some point in July.
