Cecconi (arm) recently threw a bullpen session and is scheduled for another bullpen this week before beginning a rehab assignment, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

The right-hander landed on the injured list Aug. 7 due to arm fatigue and was apparently cleared to resume throwing after an MRI came back clean over the weekend. Cecconi hasn't been on the shelf for long, so he may require only one or two appearances in the minor leagues before being cleared to rejoin the big-league roster.

Jobe didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Pirates, allowing one run on four hits and three walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out three.

The 24-year-old right-hander bounced back nicely from a rough outing against the White Sox last Friday, tossing 53 of 86 pitches for strikes, but Jobe was denied his second win of the season when Kenley Jansen blew the save in the ninth inning. Jobe will take a 4.50 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 11:5 K:BB through 14 innings over three starts into his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Rays.

DeGrom (triceps) has been cleared to start Thursday's game against the Nationals in Arlington, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

DeGrom experienced right triceps fatigue in his previous start last Thursday against the Angels, throwing just two innings before exiting the contest. Imaging over the weekend revealed nothing concerning, and after checking out fine following a bullpen session Tuesday, deGrom will be ready to make his next turn through the rotation. DeGrom hasn't completed six frames in any of his last six starts, and it's possible that the Rangers look to monitor his workload carefully coming back from the arm issue.

Arrighetti (foot) could be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Friday's game against the Yankees, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Arrighetti threw 3.2 innings and 50 pitches in a rehab start with Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday, so if he does come back Friday he would be facing workload limitations. The right-hander is dealing with Morton's neuroma in his right foot, and the expectation is that he will have to pitch through some discomfort down the stretch for the Blue Jays.

The Astros selected Pecko's contract from Triple-A Sugar Land on Wednesday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

The 23-year-old righty will start and make his major-league debut Wednesday against the Angels after recording a 4.94 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 71:28 K:BB across 74.2 innings with Sugar Land this season. Pecko will likely need to perform well Wednesday in order to ensure he receives additional starts with the Astros, as Mike Burrows (elbow) has already completed a rehab start and could be ready to return from the 15-day injured list the next time Pecko's turn in the rotation comes up.

The Athletics reinstated Springs (hip) from the 15-day injured list Wednesday.

The veteran southpaw is slated to start Wednesday's game against the Royals in Kansas City. Springs spent just over the minimum 15 days on the shelf while recovering from right hip discomfort and was cleared to rejoin the Athletics after covering three innings and tossing 59 pitches in his lone rehab start with Single-A Stockton last week. He'll likely be operating with a light workload restriction in his return to the big-league rotation, though he hadn't reached six innings in any of his 11 appearances prior to landing on the shelf.

Ryan (glute) threw a 25-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Ryan tossed all sinkers and fastballs in the session, which represents a step forward in the right-hander's recovery from a mild left glute strain. Manager Derek Shelton came away pleased with how Ryan looked Tuesday but he was careful to note that the bullpen session was the "first step in the progression to getting him back." With that in mind, the Twins may want to see Ryan face live hitters before clearing him to return from the 15-day injured list.

Baz (4-13) took the loss Tuesday, giving up three runs on four hits and two walks over 6.1 innings as the Orioles fell 3-1 to the Yankees. He struck out 10.

The right-hander reached double-digit strikeouts for the first time this season as he produced his 11th quality start, tying his career high, but Baz got little support from his offense. The reduced velocity he displayed in his previous outing also didn't seem to be an issue, as he topped out at 97.8 mph with his four-seam fastball. Despite the strong performance, Baz still hasn't won a game since June 12, and since the All-Star break he's gone 0-4 with a 3.44 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 33:7 K:BB over 34 innings and six starts. He'll look to break that streak of futility in his next trip to the mound, which is set to come at home this weekend in a revenge game against the Rays.

Rodon didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Orioles, allowing one run on two hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out four.

Making his first start since June 28 after recovering from elbow inflammation, Rodon was limited to 66 pitches (39 strikes) but looked good, with the only blemish on his line coming from a Coby Mayo solo shot in the third inning. Rodon still hasn't taken a loss since May 21 and hasn't given up more than three runs in any of his 10 outings this season, resulting in a 3.22 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 56:28 K:BB through 50.1 innings. The veteran southpaw will look to get back in the win column in his next start, which lines up to come at home this weekend against the Blue Jays.

Javier (1-4) allowed two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out five over four innings to take the loss versus the Angels on Tuesday.

Javier was skipped the last time through the rotation. He has now lost three straight starts, allowing nine runs, including four home runs, over 15 innings in that span. He's at a 6.44 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 30:17 K:BB across 36.1 innings through 11 appearances (seven starts) on the year. Considering the Astros are on shaky ground -- they lead the AL West despite a 63-63 record -- Javier's spot in the rotation is far from secure. He's tentatively projected to make his next appearance at home versus the Athletics.
