The Yankees optioned Winans to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday.

Winans was selected from Triple-A on Saturday to replace the injured Marcus Stroman (knee), and the former will now head back to the minors to clear a roster spot for Clarke Schmidt (shoulder), who is set to be activated for his season debut Wednesday. Winans didn't appear in a game during his time in the Bronx, but he will keep his spot on the 40-man roster as he moves back to Triple-A.

Ober (1-1) got the win Tuesday against the Mets after giving up three runs on five hits and no walks in 6.1 innings. He struck out five.

Ober threw 57 of his 77 pitches for strikes, but he struggled with his command at times while allowing two solo home runs. One came off the red-hot bat of Pete Alonso in the first inning, and another was driven by Juan Soto in the fourth. It's worth noting four of Ober's outs came on line drives, which suggests he may have been fortunate to come away with a quality start. The big right-hander is still searching for a rhythm in 2025, holding a 6.16 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 17:6 K:BB through 19 innings, but he'll have a prime opportunity to get back on track at home against the White Sox in his next projected start.

Castillo (1-2) yielded six runs on seven hits and four walks over 4.1 innings Tuesday, striking out three and taking a loss against the Reds.

Castillo was uncharacteristically bad Tuesday, coughing up a pair of runs through four innings before the Reds piled on four more in the fifth. He threw 54 of 95 pitches for strikes and has failed to complete six innings in three of his first four starts. Tuesday's rough outing was the first time he gave up more than five earned runs in a game since Aug. 4, 2023. Castillo's 2025 ERA ballooned to 4.22 with an 18:10 K:BB through 21.1 innings. His next start is lined up to be in Toronto this weekend.

Buehler (2-1) earned the win against the Rays on Tuesday, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out three across five innings.

Buehler gave up a solo homer to Jonathan Aranda in the second inning and yielded a second run in the fourth frame, though the damage was limited thanks to a diving catch by Ceddanne Rafaela to end the inning. Buehler has begun his Red Sox tenure with a 5.23 ERA and 1.26 WHIP across 20.2 innings, and his 3.0 percent walk rate is tied with Pablo Lopez for seventh-best in the majors. Buehler is slated to face the White Sox at home next week, when he'll look to earn his third win of 2025.

Brown (2-1) got the win Tuesday against the Cardinals after giving up four hits and no walks in six scoreless innings. He struck out four.

The biggest threat to Brown's scoreless start came during the fourth inning, when the Cardinals got two runners into scoring position with two outs, but Nolan Gorman struck out on a foul tip to end the frame. Brown has been a reliable starter for the Astros and fantasy managers alike in the early going, recording four consecutive quality starts while producing a 1.50 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 22:5 K:BB through 24 innings. The right-hander next sets up to take on the Blue Jays at home early next week.

The Tigers plan to recall Montero from Triple-A Toledo and give him the start Wednesday against the Brewers, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Manager A.J. Hinch said nobody is injured, and the Tigers just want to push the rotation back one day, as the team is in the midst of a 24-day stretch that includes just one off day. Montero appeared in 19 regular-season games for the Tigers last season, making 16 starts, and turned in a 6-6 record, 4.76 ERA and 77:31 K:BB while serving up 19 home runs across 98.1 innings.

Hancock is expected to make a start this weekend in Toronto, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Hancock opened the season as the Mariners' fifth starter but was sent down after getting rocked for six runs while recording just two outs in his first start. Luis F. Castillo took his place after that, but Castillo has since been optioned himself. Hancock will get another opportunity to hold down the No. 5 spot in Seattle's rotation until George Kirby (shoulder) is ready.

Orioles general manager Mike Elias said Tuesday that Rogers (knee) could be activated from the 15-day injured list sometime in May, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Recovering from a right knee subluxation, Rogers is slated for live batting practice next week at the Orioles' spring training complex in Florida. If that goes well, the left-hander shouldn't be far off from a rehab assignment. Rogers does have minor-league options remaining and isn't a given to be added to the major-league roster once healthy.

Working his way back from a right lat strain, McDermott will face hitters at the Orioles' spring training complex in Florida next week. He should be ready for a rehab assignment shortly after that.

Elias suggested that Wells could be ready to contribute with the Orioles during the latter half of summer. The right-hander is coming back from a UCL revision and internal brace augmentation surgery on his right elbow, which he underwent last June.
