Rodon (0-1) allowed two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out three over 2.2 innings in a loss to the Astros on Tuesday in Game 4 of the ALDS.

As Russell Dorsey of The Chicago Sun-Times notes, Rodon was pitching at less than 100 percent after arm and shoulder trouble crept up over the final couple months of the regular season. You couldn't tell early on, as Rodon was pumping fastballs in the high 90s and looked dominant through two innings, though he was eventually touched up a bit in the third before his exit. This may very well have been Rodon's last start in a White Sox uniform; he's never going to be a workhorse, but Rodon pitched brilliantly in his 132.2 innings during the regular season and will likely have several multi-year offers in free agency.

McCullers was removed from Game 4 of the ALDS against the White Sox on Tuesday with right forearm discomfort, James Fegan of The Athletic reports. He didn't factor in the decision and allowed one run on five hits with five strikeouts and three walks over four innings.

McCullers was pulled at 73 pitches after four frames due to the injury, so he didn't qualify for the victory as Houston punched its ticket to the ALCS. The severity of the injury remains unclear, leaving the right-hander's status up in the air for his next turn through the rotation, which could line up for Game 3 at Boston on Monday.

Whitlock (1-0) logged two perfect innings Monday, taking the win in Game 4 of the ALDS against the Rays.

Whitlock got the final six outs to close out Tampa Bay. He has emerged as one of Boston's most valuable pitchers this season, and his importance is only amplified in October. It will be interesting to see whether he can wrangle the closing duties next season or if he will remain in a fireman role.

Rodriguez gave up two earned runs on three hits and zero walks while striking out six in five innings Monday against the Rays in Game 4 of the ALDS.

While Rodriguez did not factor in the decision, he pitched well enough for Boston to close out the Rays and advance to the ALCS. Boston will face the winner of the series between the Astros and White Sox. Rodriguez could start multiple games in that series.

McClanahan gave up five earned runs on five hits and one walk while recording just two outs Monday in Game 4 of the ALDS against Boston.

He did not record a strikeout and was pitching in relief on three days of rest. The Rays were eliminated by the Red Sox, and McClanahan was charged with five of the six runs Boston scored.

McCullers will start Game 4 of the ALDS against the White Sox on Tuesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Jose Urquidy initially lined up to start Game 4, but McCullers will take the mound on normal rest after the contest was pushed from Monday to Tuesday due to inclement weather. The right-hander started the series opener and allowed four hits and no walks while striking out four in 6.2 scoreless innings to earn the win.

Urquidy is expected to be available out of the bullpen for the Astros on Tuesday in Game 4 of the ALDS matchup with the White Sox after the team named Lance McCullers its starting pitcher for the contest, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Urquidy had been in line to start Monday, but that contest was postponed until Tuesday due to inclement weather in Chicago. As a result of the postponement, McCullers, the Astros' starter in Game 1, will be able to return to the hill Tuesday on his normal four days' rest. While Urquidy could be an option to start in a possible Game 5 on Wednesday if he goes unused Tuesday and if the White Sox even the series at 2-2, the Astros are more likely to turn to Framber Valdez for the elimination game.

Greinke worked around a pair of hits and struck out a batter in a scoreless inning of relief Sunday in the Astros' 12-6 loss to the White Sox in Game 3 of the ALDS.

After battling a neck injury late in the regular season, Greinke was activated ahead of Game 162 and tossed 2.1 innings out of the bullpen to clear the way for him to join the Astros' ALDS roster. Due to a string of poor starts prior to landing on the injured list in addition to youngsters Framber Valdez, Jose Urquidy and Luis Garcia earning spots in the rotation, Greinke looks like he'll continue to work in a relief role throughout the postseason. The 38-year-old right-hander is set to become a free agent this winter and presumably still views himself as a starter, so he could look to move on from Houston heading into 2022.
