Paddack (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Thursday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

While the Twins haven't yet revealed whether Paddack will require elbow surgery, he'll be unable to return to game action until at least mid-July. The right-hander posted a 4.03 ERA and 1.21 WHIP in 22.1 innings over his first five starts with the Twins but will be forced to miss significant time. Chris Archer and Josh Winder have been filling in as starters recently as the Twins' rotation deals with several injuries.

The Rangers optioned Allard to Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.

The Rangers will swap Allard out of their bullpen for a fresh arm in Josh Sborz, who was called up from Round Rock in advance of Thursday's game against the Royals. Allard covered three innings out of the bullpen in Wednesday's 8-2 loss, giving up one run on two hits and a walk while striking out one.

Bubic was optioned to Triple-A Omaha on Thursday, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.

Bubic lost his place in the rotation last week after posting an awful 13.14 ERA and 8:11 K:BB through his first five starts. He moved to the bullpen but made just one appearance there before losing his spot on the active roster entirely. Jon Heasley, who will start Thursday against the Rangers, was recalled to take his place on the big-league roster.

Gil was recalled as expected ahead of his scheduled start Thursday against the White Sox.

Gil made six major-league starts in his debut season last year, cruising to a 3.07 ERA despite a 14.7 percent walk rate, as his 29.5 percent strikeout rate proved to be enough to overcome his poor control. Things haven't gone his way through five starts for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season, as he owns a 9.53 ERA and has walked a nearly identical 14.5 percent of opposing batters, but the Yankees evidently have enough faith to give him another shot.

Bradley has a 2.57 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 31:4 K:BB across six starts for Double-A Montgomery this season.

He's allowed just a single hit in each of his last two outings, and Bradley has given up one or zero runs in five of his starts. The 21-year-old righty is nearly four years younger than the average Double-A player, which makes this level of dominance that much more impressive. While his strikeout rate isn't quite as high as it was last season, he's also clipped his walk rate in half, posting a stingy 1.3 BB/9 so far this year. It's not clear what the Rays' plans are for Bradley, but he's starting to get close to the majors. If he doesn't make it there this year, he'll certainly be in the conversation early next season.

The Tigers are expected to recall Faedo from Triple-A Toledo to start Monday against the Rays, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

After being designated as the 27th man for Tuesday's doubleheader with the Athletics, Faedo was the obvious choice to move off the 26-man active roster after the twin bill was completed. Before heading back to the minors, however, Faedo delivered another promising five-inning effort, allowing just two runs and striking out seven in a loss. With all of Matt Manning (shoulder), Casey Mize (elbow) and Tyler Alexander (elbow) still on the injured list, Faedo should be on track to make a third straight turn through the big-league rotation. Detroit will need to place another player on an injured or inactive list by Monday in order to make room on the active roster for Faedo's return.

Irvin (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session Friday, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Irvin successfully threw off flat ground Wednesday, and he's been cleared to resume mound work to close out the week. The southpaw has been on the injured list with shoulder tendonitis since May 5, but it's possible he'll be able to return to game action when he's first eligible next week.

Eovaldi gave up three runs on six hits across 6.1 innings during Wednesday's 5-3 loss to Atlanta. He struck out six and walked one.

Eovaldi cruised through the first two innings but got into trouble in the third when Orlando Arcia singled to center. Travis Demeritte followed the single with a two-run shot, and two batters later Matt Olson hit an RBI double to center, tying the game 3-3. Eovaldi was able to settle down after the shaky third, but he was pulled in the seventh inning with 98 pitches after giving up another single to Arica. The veteran righty sports a 3.15 ERA and 42:7 K:BB across 40.0 innings, but he's allowed at least one home run in all but one start this season, including multiple homers three times.

Boston general manager Chaim Bloom said Wednesday it will be a matter of days, not weeks, before Sale (ribs) resumes throwing, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

Bloom added that the Red Sox do not have a date for when Sale will resume his throwing program. The left-hander recently experienced a non-baseball medical issue that forced him to take a pause from throwing.

McClanahan didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 4-2 extra-inning win over the Angels, scattering three hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings while striking out 11.

The southpaw put together the best start of his young career, tying his career high in strikeouts -- set just two starts prior -- while posting an eye-popping called plus swinging strike rate of 40 percent on his 100 pitches. Unfortunately, Andrew Kittredge promptly coughed up the lead in the eighth inning as soon as McClanahan exited, denying him his third win. The 25-year-old will take a 2.52 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and dominant 58:10 K:BB through 39.1 innings into his next outing.
