Dunning registered a no-decision during Tuesday's 5-4 loss to Seattle, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks with five strikeouts in five innings.

Making his first start since being sidelined by an ankle injury, Dunning surrendered a leadoff Julio Rodriguez home run and struggled through a 34-pitch first inning. The 27-year-old settled down to retire 13 of the final 14 Mariners he faced and induced an impressive 13 swinging strikes on 85 pitches. Dunning carries a 4.38 ERA and 1.42 WHIP into his next start, scheduled to come over the weekend against the Angels.

Kirby registered a no-decision during Tuesday's 5-4 win against Texas, allowing two hits and one walk with four strikeouts in five scoreless innings.

Kirby put one runner on in each of the first three innings and finished the outing strong by retiring the final nine Rangers he faced. The 24-year-old was in line for his third win, but the bullpen surrendered the lead, leaving the righty winless in four July starts despite a 1.27 ERA. In 13 starts this season, Kirby has posted a 3.50 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 66 strikeouts compared to only 10 walks in 69.1 innings. He's set for a tough test with a road start against Houston on tap for this weekend.

Garcia (8-6) allowed four runs on four hits and four walks while striking out seven in 5.2 innings, taking the loss Tuesday versus the Athletics.

Five of the eight baserunners Garcia allowed came in the third inning, and Chad Pinder tagged him for a grand slam in that frame. This was the 17th homer allowed by Garcia in 18 starts this year -- he allowed 19 long balls in 30 outings last year. Despite the extra trouble with homers, the right-hander has a solid 3.81 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 107:31 K:BB through 99.1 innings this year. He's tentatively on track for a home start versus the slumping Red Sox next week, though it's possible Garcia moves up a day if Jake Odorizzi (finger) can't make his next scheduled start versus Seattle.

Montas (4-9) allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits, three walks and two hit batsmen while striking out four in five innings in a win over the Astros on Tuesday.

Montas had some control issues, but he was able to limit the damage. The Athletics' bullpen followed up with four scoreless innings of relief to give the right-hander his first win since June 11. Montas threw 78 pitches (44 strikes) in this outing, which puts him in the neighborhood of a normal workload. He has a 3.18 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 109:28 K:BB across 104.2 innings in 19 starts this year. The 29-year-old is considered a top trade target, so there's no guarantee his next outing comes in Oakland's green and gold. If he stays put, he's tentatively projected for a road start versus the Angels next week.

Kopech (4-6) allowed six hits and three walks while striking out four in 5.1 scoreless innings to earn the win Tuesday over the Rockies.

Kopech escaped Coors Field unscathed, even though he permitted nine baserunners for the third time in four starts. The White Sox took the lead in the fourth inning and held onto it to give Kopech consecutive wins for the first time this year. He's posted a steady 3.16 ERA with a 1.21 WHIP and 78:45 K:BB through 88.1 innings in 18 starts. The right-hander is projected for a favorable home start versus the Royals next week.

Suarez (2-4) earned the win Tuesday over the Royals. He allowed three hits, a walk and hit a batter while striking out three over 5.1 scoreless innings.

Suarez had allowed 12 runs over 12 innings in his first three starts in July, though he faced the Astros, Orioles and Dodgers in that stretch. A favorable start against the Royals allowed the southpaw to get back on track. He threw 53 of 78 pitches for strikes in arguably his sharpest outing of the year. For the season, Suarez owns a 5.01 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 48:23 K:BB in 50.1 innings across 12 appearances (10 starts). He's projected for a home start versus the Athletics next week.

Bundy allowed five runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out five in four innings in a 7-6 loss Tuesday in Milwaukee. He did not factor in the decision.

Four of the five runs against Bundy came in the second inning when Hunter Renfroe launched a three-run homer and Christian Yelich drove in a run with a double. In the next inning, Luis Urias tacked on a solo shot. Bundy has been quite inconsistent this season and has seven starts of at least five innings while allowing one run or fewer but also seven starts in which he's allowed at least four earned runs. Tuesday's outing pushed his ERA up to 5.02 through 84.1 innings.

Montgomery (3-3) took the loss Tuesday against the Mets, allowing five runs (four earned) on five hits and a walk while striking out three in 2.1 innings.

The Mets got off to a fast start against Montgomery, scoring four times in the first inning, including homers by Starling Marte and Eduardo Escobar. With two runners on base and Escobar up again, Montgomery was removed with one out in the third, having thrown 71 pitches. In his last seven starts, the lefty has a 4.97 ERA and 1.34 WHIP and has allowed eight homers in 38 innings.

Berrios pitched 5.2 innings, surrendering three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out seven in Tuesday's win over the Cardinals. He did not factor into the decision.

Berrios surrendered a solo home run to Dylan Carlson in the first inning before giving up two more runs in top of the third frame. The right-hander was later removed with two outs in the sixth inning after he allowed a second baserunner to reach. After surrendering 14 runs over 6.2 frames in his last two starts of June, Berrios has produced a 3.41 ERA with 36 strikeouts over 29 innings in five starts in July. The strong month has his season numbers down to a 5.20 ERA and 1.37 WHIP with 100 punchouts over 107.1 frames in 20 outings.

McClanahan tossed seven innings, giving up two runs on two hits and one walk while striking out seven in the loss to the Orioles on Tuesday. He did not factor into the decision.

McClanahan was able to limit the Orioles to just three baserunners in Tuesday's outing, but both of the hits he surrendered were solo home runs. Cedric Mullins launched a leadoff homer in the bottom of the first and Anthony Santander took the lefty deep for another solo shot in the fourth frame. The two long balls matched the total that McClanahan had allowed over his five prior starts combined. On the bright side, the 25-year-old extended his quality start streak to a remarkable 13 consecutive outings, and he now owns a 1.76 ERA and 0.77 WHIP with 154 punchouts over 117.2 frames through 19 starts this year.
