    The Blue Jays will reassess Sandlin before determining his next steps, but the organization is hopeful that his setback is a minor one that won't result in a prolonged shutdown from the throwing. The reliever has resided on the 15-day injured list since July 8 due to right elbow inflammation.

    Nationals' Jake Eder: Shelved at Triple-A

    Triple-A Rochester placed Eder on its 7-day injured list Aug. 5 due to an unspecified injury.

    Acquired from the Angels on July 30, Eder reported to Triple-A Rochester following the trade but has yet to make his organizational debut while he recovers from an injury. The Nationals haven't provided a timeline for Eder's return to the mound, making it uncertain whether he'll pitch again in 2025.

    Angels' Sam Bachman: Back in majors

    The Angels recalled Bachman from Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday.

    Bachman has made 18 relief appearances for the Halos this season, putting up a 5.02 ERA and 13:6 K:BB over 14.1 innings. He might be on the active roster for only a few days after Tyler Anderson (personal) was placed on the paternity list in a corresponding transaction.

    The Cardinals recalled Graceffo from Triple-A Memphis on Monday.

    Graceffo has put up a 5.81 ERA and 26:7 K:BB across 31 innings in the majors this season. The right-hander will give manager Oliver Marmol a fresh bullpen arm for the start of a series against the Pirates that begins Monday.

    The Cardinals optioned Granillo to Triple-A Memphis on Monday.

    Granillo struggled in his most recent stint with the big club, yielding seven runs with a 7:5 K:BB over 7.1 innings. He'll cede his spot in the bullpen to Gordon Graceffo, who was recalled from Triple-A.

    Yankees' Fernando Cruz: Set for Tuesday activation

    Cruz (oblique) said that he will be activated from the 15-day injured list Tuesday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

    Yankees manager Aaron Boone said over the weekend that Cruz would be reinstated either Sunday or Monday, but the team now plans to wait and extra day before adding the reliever back to the 26-man active roster. Out since late June due to a left oblique strain, Cruz has posted a 3.00 ERA and 41.2 percent strikeout rate this season.

    Mets' Jose Castillo: Back with big club

    The Mets selected Castillo's contract from Triple-A Syracuse on Monday.

    Castillo was outrighted off the 40-man roster earlier this month, but he's getting another shot in the majors after allowing just one run with a 9:1 K:BB over his last 5.1 innings with Syracuse. The lefty reliever holds a 5.30 ERA and 20:9 K:BB across 18.2 frames at the big-league level this season between the Diamondbacks and Mets.

    Mets' Reed Garrett: Placed on IL with elbow injury

    The Mets placed Garrett on the 15-day injured list Monday due to right elbow inflammation.

    Garrett had been tagged for eight runs over 4.2 innings covering his last five appearances. He's been given a cortisone shot and hopes to be ready for activation Sept. 7 when first eligible, according to Andrew Tredinnick of The Bergen Record. Garrett's spot on the active roster and in the bullpen will be absorbed by Jose Castillo, who was called up from Triple-A Syracuse.

    Blue Jays' Justin Bruihl: Back in big-league bullpen

    The Blue Jays recalled Bruihl from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday.

    Bruihl has made 11 relief appearances for Toronto this season, yielding eight runs (six earned) with an 11:6 K:BB over 8.1 frames. The southpaw reliever will give manager John Schneider a fresh bullpen arm.

    Blue Jays' Paxton Schultz: Heading back to minors

    The Blue Jays optioned Schultz to Triple-A Buffalo on Monday.

    Schultz gave the Blue Jays a scoreless inning in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Marlins during his one-day stint with the big club. Justin Bruihl was recalled from Triple-A to replace Schultz on the 26-man active roster and in the bullpen.
