Chapman (6-5) blew a save and was tagged with Thursday's loss to Seattle. He allowed two runs on two hits and a walk without retiring a batter.

Chapman, who worked the eighth inning of a close game Wednesday, was given the closing opportunity Thursday but failed to secure a win that would have clinched Texas' first postseason berth since 2016. He was removed after back-to-back singles and a walk (eight pitches, three strikes). Jonathan Hernandez inherited Chapman's runners and nearly got out of jam, but he allowed a two-run, walk-off double to J.P. Crawford. Neither single off Chapman was hard hit, but the performance adds to a stretch of shaky relief from the southpaw. Over his last 14 outings going back to Aug. 21, Chapman is 1-3 with two blown saves, a 6.23 ERA and 12 walks over 13 innings.

Shaw picked up the save in Thursday's 3-1 victory over the Diamondbacks, striking out one over a perfect inning.

Shaw entered the contest with a two-run lead in the ninth and needed only 11 pitches to retire the side and secure his fourth save of the season. The right-handed reliever has converted his last two save opportunities and has struck out at least one batter in 13 of his last 15 appearances. He carries a 1.08 ERA in September to go along with a 20:6 K:BB.

May picked up the save Thursday against Minnesota, striking out one over a perfect inning.

May was called upon in the bottom of the ninth to protect a one-run lead and didn't disappoint, retiring the side in order to record his 21st save of the season. The right-handed reliever has now converted his last 11 save opportunities and hasn't allowed a run since Aug. 13. Thursday also marked his fifth appearance this month in which he didn't allow any hits.

Munoz (4-7) didn't allow a baserunner in one-third of an inning and earned the win Thursday over the Rangers.

Munoz got the last out of the ninth inning, and the Mariners rallied for a walk-off victory. He hadn't earned a save or a result in two weeks, allowing one run across four innings over his last four appearances. Munoz has a 2.81 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 65:21 K:BB through 48 innings this year while adding 13 saves and 14 holds in 51 appearances.

Yarbrough (8-7) allowed nine runs on 11 hits and one walk while striking out two over four innings to take the loss versus the Rockies on Thursday.

Yarbrough had allowed just eight runs over his first 15.1 innings in September, but a trip to Coors Field was responsible for his worst outing of the season. It inflated his ERA to 4.52 with a 1.23 WHIP and 67:14 K:BB through 89.2 innings between the Dodgers and the Royals. The southpaw will likely operate as a long-relief option during the Dodgers' postseason run.

Bednar pitched a scoreless inning with one walk and two strikeouts to close out the save in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Phillies.

Bednar continues to roll as one of the top closers this season, placing second on the saves leaderboard as of the end of Thursday's game. Notably nine of his 38 saves have come in September while pitching to a 1.62 ERA and 1.17 WHIP with 15 strikeouts across 11.1 innings in that span.

Iglesias struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Cubs.

Iglesias has earned three saves over his last five outings while allowing one run in five innings in that span. He's settled down again after a shaky early half of September. The closer is up to 32 saves in 36 chances while maintaining a 2.80 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 67:15 K:BB through 54.2 innings this season.

Small gave up two walks and no hits in a scoreless inning, en route to his first career save in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Cardinals.

Small has not traditionally been an option to close games in his limited work so far, however the team was willing to experiment with the rookie in a high-leverage spot given they are likely providing their regulars extra rest in advance of the playoffs. The southpaw made things tight by bringing the tying run to the plate in Masyn Winn after allowing two walks, but managed to close the door and preserve the team shutout. This was Small's first appearance since being recalled on Wednesday. He logged a 3.18 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 61 strikeouts in 51 innings while working as a reliever with Triple-A Nashville.

Bowlan (0-1) allowed one run on three hits and struck out two without walking a batter over two innings, taking the loss Wednesday versus the Tigers.

Bowlan got the start in his debut and logged a short appearance, but the Royals' offense was shut out in the loss. The right-hander recorded a passable 105:45 K:BB over 102 innings between Double-A and Triple-A this season, but it came with a 5.91 ERA and 1.58 WHIP. Bowlan could compete for a rotation spot in 2024, but he likely needs a little more time in the minors.

Beck is scheduled to start Saturday's game against the Dodgers, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

The 27-year-old right-hander should be in line for a traditional start after he had been operating in a piggyback or bulk-relief role for much of his various stints with the big club this season. Beck owns a 4.05 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 65:20 K:BB through his first 80 major-league innings this season with San Francisco.
