The Mets placed Reyes on outright waivers Thursday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Reyes is off the 40-man roster in New York and will probably soon become a free agent. The 27-year-old right-hander struggled to a 7.78 ERA over 19.2 major-league innings in 2023 and also held an underwhelming 5.79 ERA and 72:33 K:BB in 91.2 innings of work with Triple-A Syracuse.

The Mets placed Hernandez (pectoral) on outright waivers Thursday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Shoulder and pectoral injuries prevented Hernandez from playing in the majors in 2023, and he'll now lose his spot on the Mets' 40-man roster. He'll have the option to elect free agency and could draw interest from other teams despite his injury history.

The Brewers declined Wilson's (lat) $2.5 million club option for 2024 on Thursday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Wilson gets a $150,000 buyout as he heads into free agency. The 36-year-old left-hander missed the first half of the 2023 campaign while recovering from Tommy John surgery and then suffered a season-ending lat strain just as he was preparing to return in late July.

The Mets placed Curtiss (elbow) on outright waivers Thursday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Curtiss has been on the 60-day IL since August, so the Mets don't gain a roster spot by waiving the 30-year-old reliever. However, the move gives Curtiss the option to elect free agency and decide where he plays in 2024. Curtiss put up a 4.58 ERA and 1.27 WHIP through 19.2 innings before undergoing season-ending elbow surgery.

The Brewers declined Chafin's $7.25 million club option for 2024 on Thursday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Chafin will take a $725,000 buyout as he moves to the open market. The 33-year-old journeyman left-hander was a steady relief option for the Cubs, Athletics and Tigers in 2021-22 before stumbling to a 4.73 ERA across 51.1 innings this past season between Arizona and Milwaukee.

Seattle acquired Bolton from the Pirates on Thursday in exchange for cash considerations.

Bolton surrendered 15 earned runs on 30 hits and 15 walks over his first 21.1 major-league innings with Pittsburgh in 2023, but the 25-year-old right-hander owns a 3.38 ERA with 129 strikeouts in 122.1 career innings of work at the Triple-A level. He could prove to be a nice pickup for the Mariners if his command improves.

Cincinnati re-signed Santillan on Thursday to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Santillan has been bogged down by various injuries over the last two seasons, but he posted a shiny 2.91 ERA with 56 strikeouts over 43.1 innings as a rookie in 2021. With better luck on the health front, the 26-year-old right-hander could reestablish himself as a useful part of the Reds' bullpen mix in 2024.

Garza was sent outright Thursday to Triple-A Worcester, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

Garza posted an ugly 7.36 ERA and 17:12 K:BB over 18.1 major-league innings with the Red Sox in 2023. The 29-year-old right-hander is now off the 40-man roster in Boston.

Oakland signed Newcomb (knee) to a one-year, $1 million contract Thursday, avoiding arbitration, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

The 30-year-old left-hander was a potential non-tender candidate for the Athletics this winter, but the two parties have opted to skip that process and lock in an agreement for the 2024 season. Newcomb required lateral meniscus surgery on his left knee this past September but is expected to be fully recovered by the beginning of spring training in February. He had been operating as a starter with the A's just prior to the knee injury and could get a chance to compete for an Opening Day rotation spot in camp.

The Padres outrighted Carlton (elbow) to Triple-A El Paso on Thursday.

Carlton posted a 4.35 ERA and 1.16 WHIP through 20.2 innings out of the bullpen during the first half of the year, but inflammation in his right elbow kept him from playing during the final three months of the season. If Carlton is able to duplicate his Triple-A stats from 2023 (3.00 ERA, 1.11 WHIP), he may be able to work his way back into the major-league bullpen.
